I think Disney should start enforcing end times on fastpasses

I didn't read the whole thread, but they really should enforce the end time because when all the FP show up late it slows down the stand by line.

And it says right on the ticket that there is a one hour window.

Really, how hard is it to just follow the simple rule listed on the little ticket? Why must everyone ignore Disney's policy on this?
Maybe you should take the time to read the thread.

It's actually Disney's POLICY to accept late Fastpasses. The CMs are trained to do such and will tell you this if you take to ask them at the ride entrances.

You know, if nothing else, this thread is training an entire army of DISers now to respond to this issue properly! :rotfl2:

Ya know, I actually have a legit question.

I remembered there being a one hour return window on FPs. I read somewhere very recently (maybe even earlier in this thread) that the window was only 5 minutes.

What is the actual return window?

And...here we go again.

PLEASE read the thread. Except for maybe the last several pages which really don't have anything to do with it. :)

But put simply, a person using a Fastpass ON TIME slows down the standby line by just as much as someone using it 5 minutes late, and 1 hour late, etc. As a matter of fact, by not using it the very first second they could, they've actually sped up the standby line.

And no one is ignoring Disney's policy on it because the the policy of Disney is to accept late FPs.

Now I'm starting to think this thread will just become troll-bait going forward and might be better served by a moderator closing it now.

Maybe if you read Post #165 and #167 of this thread, they both explain why late Fastpasses are accepted and why it does not make a significant impact on the Fastpass wait.

Unfortunately, you are probably right.

Oh lighten up people! ;) I assumed you all had read the thread. I have 11 posts in it afterall and I am in your camp on this issue. ;)

I just thought it was funny to come full circle and end up where we began.

Because you can be sure...next week....or sooner....the debate will begin anew....

You may be remembering a time window for a Little Mermaid FP. Because the passes are (in theory) for a particular showing, the passes do - or did - show a short window a few minutes before a particular showing. (Can't guarantee that it is still this way, but it was at one time in the not-distant past.)

Well, please forgive me for not tracking each and every person who posted in this thread... :)

This was definitely the case some years ago...can't remember if it was as little as 5 minutes, but they were trying to allocate it per-show. I'm pretty sure that's not the case any more, as they rarely use it at all, and when they do it's a typical return window. They just limit the number of FPs given out differently than before (more than likely less given than they used to).

I've never gotten a FP for Little Mermaid.

I googled it to make sure, and the images show a one hour return period. :confused3

ETA: I misread your post. I don't remember ever seeing a 5 minute return window, just the one hour. I had read somewhere on here that it was a 5 minute window, thus I was confused.

Do you happen to know about the Mickey M&G FPs?

Are they linked in to the current system?

What is the time to get next FP window with those? Is it the same as the others?

And finally, are they enforcing the window with those or can you come late?

Many thanks if you do know.....

The Mickey M&G FP's can vary.
They ARE tied to the rest of the FP system in MK.

BUT... they can offer a "get another FP" time that is just a minute or so after you pick up the Mickey FP.

I do not think that it works the "other way" as in, coming to get a Mickey FP after you have just gotten a FP at another MK attraction.
(I'm still trying to get clear info on that.)

Yeah I don't know why it would make a difference. It's not like people with late fast passes are all going to jump in line at once.

...unless it's after a parade. :dance3:

Which, of course, is the sole reason that the wait is longer than expected...not the 500+ other guests getting into the standby line just ahead of you after the parade... :)

Of course!

After all, perception is reality, isn't it? :upsidedow

99% of the general crown think they are only good during the timeframe as it is.

and end time if it is not going to be enforced? Save the ink and save some extra $$$ imagine the cost savings over time.

Next question is if it doesn't hurt things to allow people to use them anytime after their time, why not allow everyone to use them any day after their time?

According to the explanations I read it shouldn't matter when you use them after your set start time.

I wish they would enforce the times as why bother having rules and restriction if they are not to be followed. If you want to push things then Disney should overlook a lot of their other rules they have in place too.

Just one's opinion.
