Just wondered If this has happened to anyone else. We live 1,000 miles from WDW. On 2 different trips we have run into people we know from around town (we live in a small town 9,998 pop.) One time when I was a kid we where going into Pecos Bills for lunch at Mk and some one starts calling my dads name. It was our doctor eating lunch there what are the odds. Then a couple years ago me and the DW where checking out of FW and here pulls up the guy who owns one of the wrecker companies in town. Who is also my next door neighbor's best friend. Is that not crazy and none of us ever knew the other would be there.

In 02 I saw a girl I work with at MK....I also saw one of New Oreans' finest (NOPD)who at that time, stopped in at work just about every night to make sure everything was OK....I saw them at the same time........in the same place.....both smiling from ear to ear, obviously very embarrassed....He wasnt wearing his wedding ring. We said our hellos very, very briefly but the tension was so thick I couldnt help but give them an excuse to get away from me. They are now married.....to each other this time!!!!

Is that not crazy or what. Half of the time I cant even find my family at WDW but we can find people from our home towns.

When we were at MK before Christmas we ran into a neighbor who I knew was going the same time but we had no idea where they'd be. We were finishing eating at Columbia Harbour House and I ask DD wonder where the Zurick's are? As I stand up to put my tray away I look over and see them. I'm like a million people and 4 theme parks and we see you guy's.

Heck, when we were there in June we were on the bus heading to the Outpost and a family from our church gets on the bus from one of the cabin loops.

We have run into the same family from our hometown at WDW on 4 different occasions. The wife was actually a fairly close friend of mine back in high school, but we drifted apart as adults.

On none of these 4 occasions did we know they were going to be in WDW at the same time as us (they didn't know about us being there, either). All of these times, we were both camping at FW, but never saw each other there. Once we ran into them at Epcot, but the other 3 times we stumbled on them in the exact same spot in Adventureland in the MK. Freaky!

We usually run into someone we know when in WDW. We live in a very small town. We live a good ways away. It is funny cause the people you know are going and you try to meet up you can't find(without calling the cell) the ones you don't expect or wouldn't care to see you see all over.

Not in WDW, but we did run into friends of the family in Bermuda. We were on different cruise ships together.

At least that story has a happy ending for 2 of them.

WDW seems like a good place to have an extramarital affair, until you run into your coworkers!

In 05 my family was walking up the Monorail ramp at MK when my DD, 6 at the time, started freaking out that she saw Julie(girl from her Kindergarten class)going down the ramp. I said "I don't think so" She swore up and down that she heard her say her name and it looked just like her. I didn't believe her and told her to just keep walking, people were behind us. Well, a week later we return to school and there is Julie with a MK sweatshirt on. I asked when she went, and she said "last week, we saw you" We thought it was so funny, because her mother told her the same thing I told my daughter. We ended up going with that family in 06, and had a blast.

This past Oct. we were waiting at the outpost for the bus when a family that lives down the road from us went running by trying to catch the purple bus. We gave a quick wave as they zoomed by.

A few years ago we stayed in a cabin in December. My DH went all out, and put exterior lights around the cabin's roofline and eaves, a full size Christmas tree inside, and more. :santa:

One morning I went outside and saw what I thought was a familiar face across the loop. I said "Jim!?!?" It was a guy who had been in the youth group with my DH in high school (25 years ago). Jim said "last night I knocked on the door of your cabin and was going to ask 'how long does somebody have to be here to decorate like that?!'". We were out that evening, but I think it would have been so funny for my DH to open the cabin door and happen to see an old buddy standing there! :rotfl: oh - we're 900 miles from WDW.

Last year ( '07 ) was the first year we HAVEN"T seen someone we know. We run into co-workers, church members and even the owner of the carpet store we bought flooring from, one year.

we was at Mk in june of 07. I too am from a small town, like 2000 ppl. We were going to IASM and i told the family the girl in the line looked like someone i had went to school with 20 years ago. so i thought i would yell her name and if she looked then i would know it was her. Well I yelled--and she looked!! it was cool, seeing someone from my town, 1000 miles away after 20 years--how cool is that. She waited for us after she rode and we talked for a while. I giggled the rest of the day.

Our first trip to FW(in cabins) my older son had just finished 6th grade...and we saw one of his TEACHERS from that year diagonally across in another cabin! At first I thought, this can't be..but when we were on line waiting for a golf cart together..there was NO denying it..it was him. Go figure..we traveled some 1100 miles..and are right next to someone we saw everyday for a year! They were checking out two days after we arrived..so it didn't ruin my son's vacation entirely! ;) (he wasn't too happy about spending vacation with this teacher).

I've only been to WDW 1 time and didn't run into anyone but, on the same topic, I ran into a friend of mine in Japan while in the service, he moved away when we were 14, hadn't seen him till Japan and we were both 19 or 20. I also had run into a guy I graduated from high scholl with in Texas. We were both in the same military school, he was a Jar Head and I was a fly boy! With our shaved heads he noticed the name 1st, we didn't recognize each other with out the hair!! :lmao:
It is a small world sometimes!

I ran into a guy I know on the internet on our last trip (Christmas) but he wouldnt stop and talk to me.

This happens every trip down. I have not been down even one time since 96 that I haven't run into somone from home mind you we live in a city of almost 400 thousand people but seriously what are the odds that you meet up with somone you know from home.

We live in a small town in Texas. Last July, we were at the Walmart near WDW and ran into a family from our town who's daughter is in my kids' grade. They didn't realize we were at WDW with another family and were really spooked when they saw that family a few isles over. :lmao:
