I recently turned 30. My early twenties were spent hanging with friends, and of course, my fair share of jerks. I too, felt lonely. ESPECIALLY amongst my girlfriends who all had a steady boyfriend, and started getting engaged,, etc...

At 24, I met my now future husband....we dated for 5 years before we got engaged.

ENJOY THIS TIME!!!!

I adore my future hubby but there are still times when I miss my single days, and can't believe I wished them away!!! You will find the right man! Keep your chin up. And never be with someone that you cannot be "you" around. I unfortunately have seen this with some friends. ( And some are now divorced)! They are silly & goofy but around their husbands/wives completely different! In other words, nervous & boring. Who needs that?! It sounds silly but what I love MOST about my hubby is that he makes me LAUGH more than anybody I've ever known, and I can say ANYTHING to him without him thinking I'm nuts Do we fight? Sure! But the good outweighs the bad. NEVER sell yourself short

Thanks for that. ooh i hate that when people change completly when there with someone. alot of my friends do that too. im nothn but myself for the start, what u see os what u get. why pretend ?

i only have one golden rule with a guy .. they have join me on my annual vacation to the world .. or at least let me go lol other then that is all go

congrats on finding ur mr right i no it will happen just gotta avoid the frogs inbetween lol

What a nice and accurate post. If you cannot be yourself around your significant other then you will be miserable. I know it is difficult for young people, it is also difficult for a lot of those of us who are middle aged but please believe me when I tell you that it is much nicer to have a group of wonderful friends who love you for who you are and with whom you can find much happiness and just have those times when you are semi miserable alone than to be with someone and 100% miserable and still alone. A guy or a girl is NOT the answer to happiness, it is cliche I know but happiness and contentment come from within YOU!!!!! It took me 39 years to figure that one out

there are some ince guys out there, generally they seem the more boring less exciting types though . As someone said earlier in the post when you stop looking things seem to happen.

its one of those things its like i dont even go out .. unless someone hapens to come into my class at college, a old peoples home where i work at night or directly to my door i have no chance aha .. i need to go out a bit .. hard when you go so much stuff to do .. you never know maybe well get a new handsome post man haha

I have a very nice friend 22yo lives in bristol like me, shy, good looking (mind i male so might not be the best judge ), part qualified accountant, loves the usa (disney etc) but has no one to travel with, but is a little shy. hes on face book so i can give you his name so you can have a look. All I can say to this is at 21, have lots of fun. I can't imagine dating the same time of person at 32 that I dated at 21. Have fun, enjoy life and don't worry about the "right" guy.

He will probably fall in your lap when you least expect it.

I was in the same position as you a few years ago.
I decided to stop looking, and met my DBF at a gig when I was looking my worst!
3 years later and we're still going strong!!
