I Sold A Stuffed Bear On Ebay

I used to collect bears. This isn't that unusual, particularly if it will complete a collection. I know there is a few bear museums over in Japan...
I think the most I ever paid for a bear was about $200. I held out for desginer bears, and limited editions. I also took workshops from the designers because I made bears as well.
I don't do that anymore. Well, I will still make the odd one. I convinced my Mom to come to a bear show with me & bring her bear that she has kept over the years. She used to let her grandkids play with it. It was estimated at $300 value. She stopped letting them play with it.

So, do you think that my DDs bear will sell for a decent amount? It has no tears, stains, etc. She hasn't ever really played with it, but it has been on her bed for five years. So, the fluffy isn't as fluffy, and the fur isn't as shiny. But it's still in great shape. Are those things still collectible?

I once came across a Disney dollar in a drawer. I don't remember what year it was for but I went ahead and listed it on eBay. Almost immediatly I was getting questions from people offering me from $20 to $75 if I would end the auction early for them. Well, that told me that I should let it run it's course! It ended up selling for $240 to a man in Chile! I was not able to insure it and I sweated it out for about a week before he left me feedback!

We will. We already talked about that. Although, I'm sure the person won't be happy, because the value will be listed at $700 because that is what they paid

I remember when they sold those bears at DTD. There was an entire wall of them and I almost got one because they were so cute. Wow, this is a shocker! :)

I know some of you know this, because I had a thread started about it, and I've talked about it on facebook. But, my mom's bear ended tonight. So, it got bid up to $455 with a minute left, which was great. But, then with less than a minute left of the auction, someone else bid and won with $710. They are from Japan, and I'm hoping that works out okay. They have positive feedback. I'm a little uneasy because $710 is a lot of money if there are issues. I'm having a hard time being excited, because it's a lot of money if something goes wrong. And, WHY would anyone pay that much money???? The other one I saw on ebay sold for $355.

It's CRAZY!!!!

:cheer2: Awesome Nicole!:cheer2:

I think it would. I mean it may not get $700 but it will go for a lot. I've seen some that aren't in mint or even new condition that have went for a lot. And I mean over $100 or even $200.

The original bear was MINT WITH TAGS... This means alot to a serious collector that means it was not played with, etc.

And understand that there may or may not be other collectors looking for that bear...

EBAY does have a service for sellers to research what recently sold items brought in so you can decide on a price...

Don't EXPECT to get the same price just because she sold hers at that... It may or Most likely won't be as high... but you can find a good price just the same.

There was something about that bear that was worth it to THAT collector...

I have been watching every Disney Bear (like the one the OP is selling) that has gone through eBay in the past couple weeks. I only saw one that went for less than $100. I was just saying what I saw- I definitely wouldn't expect $700 for one that isn't mint w/tags, but $100 for a bear that you paid about $30 for- that's still a great profit.

True... I guess they were out for just a little while -

I would no where expect to get $700 for the other one. In fact, I would nowhere expect to $700 for the mint one, but I did. The tags are not attached on it. The played with one has the same book that the other one has, just not attached.

I took pictures comparing it to the mint one. Think those would be good to post? It just shows how the stuffing has settled. And, it also shows it's in pretty good shape.

Man! I gave my Disney Bear away to someone on the DIS a few months ago to replace a tattered & torn up one. Maybe that was a bad move! :scratchin

Mostly it would depend on the collector, and the theme of their collection. If one is trying to have a complete series or some such, they can go to extremes to get what they need, particularly if they only need one more - that is part of why you can see the huge fluctuations too.

holy cow!

i have a large collection of Disney dollars from 88-90'!

I am in no way attached to them they have just been tucked away in my jewelry box.

what condition was the Disney dollar you sold?

I listed #2. We'll see how it goes. DD has high hopes. We have told her not to expect anywhere NEAR what Grandma's sold for.

That's awesome! I have several Disney Dollars that have been tucked in a drawers for many years, maybe I'd better take a look at listing them.
