I know some of you know this, because I had a thread started about it, and I've talked about it on facebook. But, my mom's bear ended tonight. So, it got bid up to $455 with a minute left, which was great. But, then with less than a minute left of the auction, someone else bid and won with $710. They are from Japan, and I'm hoping that works out okay. They have positive feedback. I'm a little uneasy because $710 is a lot of money if there are issues. I'm having a hard time being excited, because it's a lot of money if something goes wrong. And, WHY would anyone pay that much money???? The other one I saw on ebay sold for $355.

It's CRAZY!!!!

OMG that is amazing. I hope it works out OK. What kind of bear??

OMG! What kind of a bear is it? I can't believe that someone would pay so much money for a bear...but that's a collector for you! Congratulations!

You got 25 bids... SOMEONE wanted that bear... could be the color was rare or it's mint or whatever... make sure you wait for final payment - do you have Paypal? That's the best way to do it.... :thumbsup2

I'm curious about this as well. We have one of those bears and it is in mint condition. It's a different color though. :confused3 If it's worth anything near that much, I'd sell it in a hot minute. :lmao:

Sorry Jen (DD). ;)

That is fantastic - wish I had a cupboard full of those bears :lmao:

What a fantastic story - so pleased for you - I love anything about Disney World memorabilia - have a couple of little things which are actually on display in Walts Dream - I keep dreaming that they are worth lots.

Makes you think though - if there are any new limited edition items on sale in WDW, then may be worth buying now because they could be worth a lot in years to come - probably a much better investment than putting your money in a Bank at the moment, with the interest rates as low as they are (I assume it's the same in the US)

I'll look later and see how much the brown is going for. I know how busy you are playing Fashion Wars.

Whoa! That's crazy, congrats. Maybe I sholud look around the house for old Disney stuff ;)

that kind of stuff amazes me! About 10 years ago during the beanie baby frenzie...I sold 2, yes TWO of them for $1800...dd was 3 at the time & could care less which side of the elephants rear end the american flag was on! We took the money & bought a playground set for the back yard...it STILL makes me smile today when I look out the kitchen window & think of the gazillion of hours my children and friends kids have had playing on that thing....all for 2 stuffed beanie babies!

Congratulations on the sale! You never know what will happen on ebay.

That was a cute bear though!

So excited for you!!! I pulled up that auction and saw all the back to back questions about shipping to Japan....then in one question they offered $100 plus shipping. It had to be the same person, right?

700% more they were willing to pay?? I sooooo understand why you would be nervous. The paypal thing protects you though, right??

Congratulations and really hope it works out!

If it's an option when you send this, you might want to spring for the shipping insurance. Usually I only insures items if the buyer pays for it but in this case you'd be paying for your own peace of mind.

I once came across a Disney dollar in a drawer. I don't remember what year it was for but I went ahead and listed it on eBay. Almost immediatly I was getting questions from people offering me from $20 to $75 if I would end the auction early for them. Well, that told me that I should let it run it's course! It ended up selling for $240 to a man in Chile! I was not able to insure it and I sweated it out for about a week before he left me feedback!

Great news! Gosh, though, it really makes you wonder what might be just casually lying around your house that others would consider to be a major collectible!

I wouldn't worry about it. I've shipped many times overseas when I did eBay.

Congrats!
