I snoozed, I lost

Well i guess i missed the room discount for my Dec trip. See it is offered for my dates, and my resort was not excluded, but I didnt notice until today, naturally nothing available at our resort. Only two in our range left, don't want to move, and the savings would be less than 100 bucks, and delux would be 50-66% more a night, too much.

Wasnt any mind to make up, we already are booked and just missed the boat to apply the discount, but i did totally miss the discount when it was announced.

Also check Orbitz. They had POFQ available for my December date (and at 25% off) when it wasn't showing up as available on Disney's web site. I saved an additional 15% with the "48hrsale" Orbitz code (good through July 22).

Seems as though Disney is discounting POFQ again. They must be getting more demand for Riverside now.

I cant cancel my trip planned through WDW for orbits, at least dont want to. We got a package and flight all booked. So either i can get lucky and apply one if it opens, or pay full which is fine.

Pretty sure that is the definition of you snooze you loose as OP said themselves.
Not to mention their minds were made up it was just too late when they learned of the deal.

Don't check, call. Call and have them look for a room. Every other day, if not everyday. I missed the free dining when it first came out last year. I checked online for a room every morning for a month. Then I decided to start calling. 3rd call-got the room with free dining. Good luck!

Me too! December trip, the other day I noticed discounts were released, called and no dice. For some reason I thought room discounts came out later in the year.

I called the day of the release and it didn't apply to my room/resort/dates....but we live close enough that I just switched the weekend we were going & saved money. Resorts are booked up quick!

You could check out Orbitz. They have some pretty good discounts up.

Just a FYI, but you could cancel your package and book with Orbitz, etc. You own the flights. You just call Disney and say you are booking another way, want to cancel your resort package and want Disney to release responsibility of your airline tickets. You print your boarding passes anyway. Air booked with Disney have no advantage over just booking yourselves. Same non refundable policies and change fees. Same prices you would have found directly with the airline.


You would pay for your tickets separately. All works the same way in the My Disney Experience.

You are not stuck.

As an FYI, there was not a lot of availability to begin with. The Fall offer was very limited from what I could tell. I had to switch rooms to get the discount. But, as others said, keep checking everyday...something could open up under the discount before your actual travel dates!

Don't stress too much, saving $100 is not something I would get that upset about for a vacation (since it costs thousands anyway).

I Called the morning after it was released no availability for our dates in December.... checked two days later after read the DIS boards and more dates were released. We had to switch from Movies to Music to save $120 because the standard rooms were sold out. I will keep checking back for availability but either way we saved enough to make it worth our while.
