I understand that and my point is,to many of us the idea of humans needing salvation, including innocent babies, keeps us from ever being Christans.. We find the entire premise to be hurtful.JoeEpcotRocks said:God condemns no one. People have a choice to accept salvation or not, and regardless of any sin (sexual or otherwise).
Your quote.
You are turning some people off with the basic idea of salvation in the first place
Salvation (thru Jesus) is the cornerstone of Christianity.
You mean your version of God's path is a happy path.JoeEpcotRocks said:God's path is a happy path.![]()

A "realization" that you are "gay" is not a realization of the truth.

Private Messages are just that-private! Please ask permission before posting something meant to be between two posters. I'm sorry to come across in a harsh manner, but you need to be careful in the future.
I can't prove God's existence, although I know beyond a shadow of a doubt He DOES live, because as the old hymn says, "How do I know He lives? He lives within my heart!" I can tell you what He's done in my life, but I doubt that would be proof enough for you.
On the other hand, you can't prove God doesn't exist either. So, that debate doesn't help much.
to me...that's all.JoeEpcotRocks said:The Bible lays out God's path. It's all in writing.![]()
I'm glad you think "my version" is happy too.
To those that are so against homosexuals...

Jimmie,Generally your delivery is pretty good.jimmiej said:Let me remind everyone the OP was about a Christian minister and her interpretation of Scripture. It seems to have evolved into a Christian vs. non-Christian. I've tried to direct my posts to those who are Christian, although sometimes I slip.
I'm not against homosexuals. For the umpteenth time, I'm distressed that a Christian minister would preach and teach contrary to the Bible. Yes, God is Love, first and foremost. But, Love has rules for our own good. You cannot deny that fact if you have children! I don't know about you, but I didn't like all my parent's rules. I didn't understand their purpose until I had children of my own.
I know I'm a whipping boy on these religious threads, and that's fine. I wouldn't be here if it bothered me too much. Although I don't have any homosexuals in my family, I work with three gays. I would never confront them about their homosexuality. If they ever asked me (about spiritual matters), I'd have to be honest with what I believe.
You say you aren't against homosexuality, yet you believe it's wrong. Hmmm, that seems like a contradiction to me.jimmiej said:Let me remind everyone the OP was about a Christian minister and her interpretation of Scripture. Joe, Joe, Joe...you still don't get it. Who are you saving now by writing your little semi-srcastic quips in this thread? Jesus got the point at his end...you think you'd learn from your savior.
Seriously though...why still like the energizer bunny. You can no more prove the bible is the word of god than I can prove it isn't. Your faith and love seem to wrapped up in this thread though arguing with a non-christian about what is true and what is not. Surely there are more christian acts you could be doing at this hour.

JoeEpcotRocks said:I've offered proof that the Bible is the Word of God -- you refuse to read what I've suggested. Are you seeking the truth or not?
People keep asking questions, I'm answering.
