Just returned from an 8 night stay at Caribbean Beach Resort. On arrival night we visited 1900 Park Fare which I was surprised to get a reservation less then a week in advance.
I never got to experience the original character offering but my daughter is a huge fan of Cinderella and Maribel so the idea of not having to wait in line too meet them in the parks was appealing.
Overall my wife and I were not impressed. The interactions are lightning fast compared to fur character interactions. Also it was very hard to hear what they were saying-except for Aladdin he was excellent. His voice was SPOT on-we were impressed. However, my daughter just melted when she met Cindy and Maribel so age had the night of her life
My daughter has a tree nut allergy specifically cashew and pistachio and the chef came out to our table to talk before we got our food. He said some items did have the “tree nut tag” but asked for the specific allergy then went item by item through the menu and said nothing contained cashew or pistachio. We were so appreciative. Disney has always been fantastic about food allergies.
The restaurant is loud. I already talked about the struggle to hear the characters but I also had trouble hearing my wife across the table. I was also surprised at how small the place is.
Let’s get to the food. It gets a big “meh” from us. Nothing really stood out. The Strawberry soup was tasty-it’s just a smoothie. The salmon was dry and there wasn’t a lot of sauce to spoon over. The prime rib was fine. But honestly the best thing I had was the chicken nuggets…which says a lot…but they were actually really great!
So we won’t be in a hurry to return. Again, it was worth it to meet some very popular characters (Maribel was a delight interacting with my daughter who was wearing her dress) that my daughter had her heart set on meeting, but the food was mediocre and the price was nearly $200 for me, my wife, and daughter.
