I See Some WET Epcot To Resort Buses ....

This really is one of those...what are they thinking?! plans. I can't see how this is good for either TL visitors or Epcot visitors leaving after 2pm.

I don't understand the connection between the construction at DTD and not having direct buses back to your resort and making Epcot a hub instead. :confused3

I will be of of those soggy people. We go for a extended time so the WP are a every other day thing. I apologize in advance if you have to sit near us. Usually we are pretty dry but we have been know to get caught in a downpour. Then everything is Drenched!

When we were there in March there were no direct busses back to the resort in the afternoon, everyone had to go to DtD and transfer. It was a pain, especially since traffic over there was a mess. It's probably better to use Epcot as the transfer spot for now, though I don't understand still why they don't do direct resort routes.

I would really be furious if I was staying at YC/BC/BW. Surely they will run a bus to those from the front of the park???

Guess I will just wait and see, can't see the big deal. TL always shared with DTD before, and BB co-shared with AK. We go every day, don't think this will be a big impact or change, I could be wrong. DTD was a huge mess couple of weeks ago for the busses.

Sharing is different than having to get off the bus and transfer to a different one though, which is what they were doing when we were there. It took us an hour to get from TL to AKL.

As far as the transfer point, I honestly think it's a wise switch with the mess at DtD, except for the Epcot resort folks. They can't require them to walk through the park to get back, when that requires a ticket. They would have to take a bus to Epcot, transfer to a MK or AK bus, then transfer to their resort bus from there. Not acceptable, IMO.

Count me among all those who are scratchin' their heads over this one. Forget anyone actually going to TL after 2pm (not there was probably a lot going at that time anyway - unless you left TL for lunch and are returning). It will be a half-hour before closing by the time you get there. And now, buses leaving Epcot between 2pm and 6pm will be filled with lots of extra people. Many wearing wet bathing suits and carrying large beach bags with towels and such.

Glad we are driving down this time. We will definitely drive ourselves to TL to avoid this headache!

Doesn't TL close at 5 or 6? So it's really only a problem for a few hours... 2-7ish...

Why can't you just take a bus back straight to your resort and skip DTD altogether? Seems too logical for me!:thumbsup2

We will be at Disney World after June 10 (like July 4th weekend, Labor Day weekend, Thanksgiving holiday) and we always end our day at Epcot. That will be after 2:00 and I'm sure we will see many Typhoon Lagoon people standing around or sharing a bus. Now, given the fact that I *could* be coming from Animal Kingdom where I just got drenched at Kali River Rapids and have a wet bottom, I hope you are not offended.

Not quite sure what the big deal is. Maybe the title of the thread? How many people come out of a water park and have not dried off? How many people come out of a water park to ride a bus and don't have bottoms on outside of their bathing suit? It's not like there's going to be dripping puddles in a bus.

Just the latest part of the Year of a Million Cutbacks Celebration...

If staying at an EPCOT resort, I would take a cab for sure instead of going from TL to EPCOT and then walking though EPCOT to my resort.

We cab it always! I think it is around $15. We usually bus it back but we noticed after 20 minutes there was a cab in the cab stand.

I hope they post signs and let the cab companies know otherwise I'm not going to be happy to wait forever for a cab.

It took an hour and a half from GF to TL one year and one year after an hour and a half of waiting for a bus from S&D my sister will never bus it to a WP either.
