I Saw Mommy Kissing Goofy Claus - Dec '09 - DAY ONE, FINALLY (2/20) - PG# 40

Phew, what a successful limey hiest. And you didn't even use disguises, you are brave. My heart was pounding the whole time I was reading, but alas, you eluded the the mickey paint chip police. YOU'LL NEVER CATCH HER, COPPER!!!!

The countdown is remarkable, very cute, that was such a creative idea.

I missed the 60 Days!!! But here it is anyways...

60 Days! 60 Days!

:woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: :yay:

re: I LOVE the Mickey paint chip tree! It is lovely!!
I grabbed all different colors for my paint chips, if I need to get more, I can sneak back in. Thankfully, I got 3 Home Depots within spitting range.
I think I will take your suggestion and make some luggage tags; I think my sis has a laminator at her house. I think I'm going to decorate my binder with the others and perhaps even put an Alien Green one on my parkbag. Hmmmm...... :scratchin
We'll see how it goes, Watson. :goodvibes

re: WWF gift - brillant!!! I think this idea is absolutely wonderful. I'm thinking to do this for CJ as he is very attuned to animals. They absolutely love him; even my queen cat, Prozac, was warming up to him within 20 minutes of stepping inside my house.

Oh and the pic of Madi with the dumbo costume. OMG. ADORABLE!!!!! princess:

Real quick before I head to bed I wanted to share something.

As we will be in Disney two weeks before Christmas I have come up with a great idea for gifting this year. For the adults on our list (parents, sibilings, etc.) we will be picking a non-profit organization and making a $25 donation in their name. For the kiddos we are doing this: World Wildlife Fund - Adopt a Species.

We are thinking green and thinking globally! Why not gift world peace for Christmas. Who really needs another tchotchke or DVD... gift life, gift cures, gift love this year!

(PS - I just recently found out that tchotchke (pronounced chats-ki, or a knick knack if you prefer) is spelled like that and I fell in love )

This is brilliant!! We are members of both the Nature Conservancy and the WWF and for Greg's birthday this past year I adopted him a polar bear!! So smart, and I love that it's green (I'm totally into all of that) and so easy for you. This way you won't have the stress of shopping!! And if you become a member of the WWF I'm pretty sure you will probably get access to the zoos and aquariums in your area. We really got our donations worth this year, we went a few times to the Bronx Zoo and once to the Central Park Zoo. Also the Bronx Zoo is doing something for Halloween, I think we may go.

Hey you!!! I love your idea fro gift giving! We did this a few years ago for Justin's grandfather. He was in WWII and when they were building the memorial in Washington DC you could make a donation towards the building of it. So, since he was older and didn't need anything, we made the donation in his name. Very nice thing to do. He really appreciated it! He actually died the Easter after, so it was a nice last Christmas gift to give! Sorry for being Debbie Downer there for a minute.
As for other subjects....Justin has a mesage for you...you know what it is...I don't really have to type it, do I??

jon the strollers- i plan to really make ours stand out- i plan to tie a lime grene handkerchief on it and also tie a luggage tag on it with our cell phone. i've also heard of folks mistakenly taking the wrong stroller since it looks like theirs and trying to return it later, but don't have a cell phone number or ID on the stroller. so be sure you mark it. I've heard of the poopy diaper trick too, but i've heard if someone really wants it, they will simply just cut off or remove the bag anyhow. I think your best bet is taking the stroller you feel most comfortable with and doing your best to keep an eye on it and most importantly, marking it clearly with some bright or unique.

lol- so true on the best plans gone awry! on day 1- i would arrive, nap and then do osborne lights/HS. that way she is rested up and ready to go, plus travelling really takes it out of you- you can unpack and settle in while she naps. and the lights usually start around dusk, so you will be at HS earlier to catch them with plenty of time to spare.

on day 2, i think you might be pushing it to get all of that in. if you do the 3pm parade and watch near the train station/upfront, it can still take you a solid 30 minutes back to CBR, so you figure you might be back at the room around 4pm if you are lucky. you take a 2 hour nap/break, so head back at 6pm, and it takes 30 minutes again,s o you are barely making it back by 7pm, and little time to grab a spot. it is possible, just might be tight. can you do the 3pm parade another day? i always budget at least 30 minutes travel time. you never know how long a bus will take or even driving, how long it takes to park, tram it etc.

Day 3- i would give the nap around world showcase a try- if it isn't working, then head back. but you know Madi best- if that will work or not. :)

oh gosh, battery dying- will have to catch the rest tomorrow! :rotfl::confused3

Only fellow Limey Heisters (new word?!) understand the adreneline that goes into a heist! You taught me well Ki-mo-sabe!

I hung the calendar next to Madi's crib <<<CRAP - don't you hate when a side story needs to be told mid-sentence..! We had problems with Madi jumping out of her crib and she wouldn't stay in the toddler bed through the night. So I did what any logical parent would do - bought a crib tent (had to include the link so you could see it - best $70 ever spent!!!). The tent is amazing and it does it's job. So I was able to hang the calendar next to her crib and I don't have to worry about her taking off all the Mickeys>>> and every morning when I lift her out of her crib she gets to take off a Mickey. She had fun doing it this weekend and coming out to tell Shamus "56 days Dada!"

I missed the 60 Days!!! But here it is anyways...

60 Days! 60 Days!

Thanks for the 60 day party!!!

Three Home Depots, Ty & I would go nuts!!! And glad my tips were helpful for the extra heads!

I like hearing more good things coming with CJ's new placement! :goodvibes

I will probably buy everyone a (inexpensive) frame for their adopted animals photo - a little extra and something to unwrap!

Debbie Downer with a good story, you are welcome here anytime

Tell Justin I have a little secret of my own I want to tell him - and no not that I am working for the Mouse as an insider - we traded Manny Ramirez a while back for this very reason. He and the LA Dodgers will be takin down the Yankees... and if that doesn't work... The Phillies just want it more than Jeeter the Cheater and Flamin Damon and A-Rod the STD-Rod (did I take that too far?)!!! :p

BEFORE

IMG_0706.jpg

She actually was able to get out of the crib in a safe way, but I didn't want to take any chances...

DURING

IMG_0807.jpg

I do home daycare and Madi was disturbing the other kids during naptime, so I resorted to this... it was safe and it worked. The tent arrived the next day!!!

AFTER

I can finally sleep easily!

I'll be back tomorrow to give you a little weekend highlight episode :goodvibes

The tent is a really good idea. Wish I had thought of that during Reese's crib days, she was always climbing out of it. I would have gladly doled out $70 for that.

Gosh, you don't even know how envious I am that you have a little one to take to Disney, and have count downs for it. When mine were little I always thought Disney was for the rich so I never even bothered to check prices, I could have afforded it even more back then. Maybe if they grew up taking Disney trips they wouldn't think it was so lame now.

:lmao: Is it wrong that I thought it was kind of funny that you strapped her down in her seat for a nap. You can tell me if it is, it's okay, I have a tendency to laugh a things that I shouldn't (like when one of the nieces or nephews are getting in trouble for being really bad, but there is Aunt Nicole in the background snickering because sometimes it's funny when kids do bad things, well when they do bad things and they are NOT YOUR KIDS) But I must say it was pretty inventive of you, and I will have to remember the tent thing if I ever need it in the future.

LOL I will be sure to tell Justin that Manny is coming for him!!!!

Lexi was a crib climber. She would just end up in our bed all of a sudden! It was a challenge! James climbed out one time...landed on the hardwood floor...went to the hospital...had a skull fracture! That was my worst parenting moment! I thought they were going to commit me! It was horrible! But, he was fine and smiled and played at the hospital! You would never have known that there was something wrong! I think most people thought it was me that was hurt...the way I was acting!!! Anyway...good idea to try keeping her in the crib secured!!!!!!
James also had to sleep in his car seat sometimes...but not because of other kids or anything. He had a breathing issue. The doctor told us to do it to keep him upright and it helped him stay asleep by opening his airways. I really have made myself sound like a disaster here, huh?! We really aren't that bad! It was a lot of being young, first-time parents!!! Anyway, good heads-up parenting!!!!!
Can't wait for that weekend update!

love the tent- i've seen it in the kids magazines. Will has yet to try and climb out and the boy is tall. he turns 2 on 10/30 and hasn't tried it yet. so we haven't converted his crib to a toddler bed until he does.

so is it working well so far? :thumbsup2

and lol at the limey heist! i can't wait until Will is old enough to do a countdown calendar for, for a future trip. DH could care less about it, so i would only be doing it for me. :confused3:rotfl:

Don't be fooled Ty, this countdown is for me . Madi doesn't even know what's really going on - but I am having fun with it all! This weekend we went to fireworks (as you will all soon find out...) and I told her we were going to go see "Boom-Boom"'s and she replied "Boom-Boom Mickey's Castle!" - I wish baby, I wish!!!

I had a climber like that! She is so adorable, but I see why you need that tent!

The net has been a godsend!

Not at all - I laughed at it every time I saw it in a magazine. I thought, god that looks cruel... But then I was blessed with a crib jumper. My thoughts changed very quickly! Copy and paste it into a new list: Things To Put on Our Baby Registery - When The Time Comes .

LOL I will be sure to tell Justin that Manny is coming for him!!!!

I researched the tent when Madi began jumping and when I came across the review from the mother whose 22 month old son "jumped ship" and broke his collar bone I was sold! I knew I didn't want to wait for an event like that to make the switch!

And boy, you had some wild times with the kids when they were younger! :headache:

Madi has a crib in her bedroom and a toddler bed set up. We have attempted the bed on numerous occasions, but she just won't stay in it. The tent has worked wonderfully! I highly recommend it for parents whose toddlers won't stay put in a crib or a toddler bed!

And I say: DO the calendar for you! I am only pretending that Madi is playing along :lmao:

Even Madi :goodvibes

***I'll be back after the Duggar's new Grandbaby episode - I am a sucker for that creepy family :rotfl2:***

LOVE THE TENT!!! and the car seat...and the big girl reading the UG!!! :lmao:
Ya'll are all so lucky!! even the ones with the escape artist!!!

It is all my fault, and I KNOW IT!!! :headache:but, Ashton sleeps with us...he says his bed is for Chloe (the little girl I watch) he always had raspy breathing so I always slept better with him on my chest and well now our bed is HIS bed!!! He was born with a heart condtion that we just DX this past year; so he always sounded asthmatic...
I even converted it to a toddler bed; I put him in his bed and he usually wakes up about four hours later calling for me...but, he waits for me to come to him :confused3

My little family and I had a chock-a-block full weekend with tons of fun! The town I grew up in (Yarmouth, one town over from where I am now) hosted their annual fair - The Seaside Festival. There were craft vendors, midway rides, FAIR FOOD!!!, and tons of activities for the kids!

Friday, Madi and I went to the Story Hour at the Library with Madi's two BFF's - Griffin and Bella <<<SIDE STORY/BACKGROUND: I grew up with Griffin & Bella's mom, Ally - have been best friends with Ally's sister for 24 years and running! And my older sister was BFF's with Ally. We grew up in the same neighboorhood, 3 houses separated us. Ally's sister is 3 hours away and my sister is in Florida (LUCKY DOG!) - so we've gotten close and our kids are loving it! It's a lot of fun to see our kids being as close as we were!>>>

Saturday was the day we planned to hit up the Festival. Shamus came down with a nasty cough/chest congestion and opted to stay home and rest <READ: Sit around and play XBOX>. So I loaded up the backpack and off I went with my Madi Girl! We got to the Festival around noon and Madi crashed out on the ride. By some act of God I was able to transition Madi from carseat to stroller and she stayed sleeping! She slept for about an hour while I browsed the craft tents.
Once Madi had woken up we headed over to get some good Fair Food. We both got corndogs that were DELICIOUS, and fries that were "ehh..." After our lunch break we found Ally and the kiddos and got ready for the "Spooks & Kooks Kids Halloween Parade." This morning I thought about Madi wearing her Nemo and falling face down in the mud and ruining it... So I decided that MAYBE she could fit in to her old Dumbo costume from last year. I got it out of the closet and the tag said "DISNEY STORE: 6-12 MONTHS" - Oh man, this is never going to fit the girl that wears 3T pants and 4T tops! I tried it on her and VOILA!!! It was a little tight in the crotch, but the legs were long enough and the arms were long enough! SCORE!!! :cool2:

Here she is in it last year:

IMG_3672.jpg

And now, this year:

IMG_1482.jpg

She got a first place ribbon (just don't tell her that everybody got first place ribbons!) for being cute!

After the parade we headed over to the midway rides and Madi had a blast!

IMG_1487.jpg

After rides we headed home with some kettlecorn for Movie Night and a Sausage for DaDa!

Sunday was a CRAZY day! The plan was: Seaside Festival Parade at noon, Pumpkin Patch an hour away, back for the fireworks at 8PM - doing it all with our BFF's!

The parade was great and the kids loaded up on candy! One float stood out to me and I wanted to share it with you. This past July the town lost it's first "son" in Afghanistan. Nicholas Xiarhos was the son of our Police Lieutenant, he was 21 years old. It is so sad how small the letters have to be so that every son and daughter has their name on this two sided wall.

IMG_1546.jpg

After the parade and pizza it was Off Cape to a cute farm in Acushnet. We attempted to pick apples, but most of them were past their peak. But my little trooper found a good one:

IMG_1550.jpg

She's such a silly girl! Look at that face - she is so tough to photograph!

Up next was our hayride out to the pumpkin patch! Madi was an allstar and trekked all the way out to the way pack to the little pumpkin field - roped off for when school groups come. She found two that she just had to have!

IMG_1567.jpg

Again, with the crazy faces... I don't even know what is going on with this one! :rotfl2:

Pumpkins in hand we head home for some dinner and fireworks. I have a fireworks setting on my camera and decided to play around with it. These are a few of the results:

I call that one "Electric Lillie" - doesn't it look like a Lillie?

-----------------------

Last, I wanted to leave you with what we call...

THE STINK EYE
IMG_1579.jpg

Love Madi in the reading glasses. It's never too early to get the kids started on the UG. That's how you raise a Disney pro. Madi is on her way.;)

Love the Dumbo picture, both past and present. And even if all the kids got blue ribbons (which was nice) I think Madi's is the "real" blue ribbon.

Stink eye. LMAO

I love the picture of Madi with the apple!! I really think that is a great shot. I'm more or a photojournalist style fan and this just looks like her, if that makes an sense. Like "hey there's Madi doing her thing while picking some apples"

The stink eye is my favorite thought!! :lmao: I guess every kid has a face like that!! I love the Dumbo costume, and I think it's adorable that there is a parade with all the kids. I wonder if there's anything like that around me. I'm sure there is and I just never thought to look because there are no babies in our life yet. Something to remember for the future, LOL along with crib jail...err tent.

You have me all excited for our fall festival this weekend. The Oyster fest is this Sat and Sun and we really want to get there.

And I love the fireworks shots. I'm really going to work on getting some good Disney fireworks shots this time. I have a fancy camera and I plan of bring the gorillapod. I'll keep my fingers crossed!!
