I Saw Mommy Kissing Goofy Claus - Dec '09 - DAY ONE, FINALLY (2/20) - PG# 40

Awwww, that's so sweet!!! Really, that means a lot, thanks! I would like to take the opportunity to tell you I really think you are a great mom and I think Madi is really lucky to have you as her Mommy!! You know, since we were sharing the warm and fuzzies!!

Aww... Thanks! You're gonna be somebody's GREAT mommy some day too!

Paychecks!! That's a good one too!! I get paid once a week so it's 7, DH gets paid every other week so we'll have 3 and then one that will go in right before we get home, which will be nice to have waiting there for us!!

AHHH... Shamus will have a Direct Deposit on our last full day, our MVMCP day!!! WOO HOO!!!

Awesome tip!! We won't be dining there but I wish I could find one by me here. There must be one, I'll have to look!!!

Did the leg work for you - I didn't realize you were a "Real Housewife of NYC!" I am envious... kinda, I'll keep my Red Sox love! Which is closer: Hartford, CT; Atlantic City, NJ or Edison, NJ? You could always come enjoy the Cape and meet Shamus and I at the Burlington, MA location

:welcome: to the party!!! Glad to have you along! What are your dates and where are you staying?

Whew! All caught up! Your daughter is so adorable! Sorry to hear about the dentist. I too have an ****** dentist! hehe. Anyways, me and my boyfriend will be there Nov.30-Dec.7. So I will be leaving when you arrive lol. This will be our first time at WDW :lovestruc We live in CA and go to Disneyland all the time though :) We will be staying at Port Orleans Riverside. We are doing MVMCP on the 6th. I can't wait to go and see all the Christmas decorations! :santa:

Congrats! I was able to relax a little and start buying things I need--like a couple of pairs of pants that are not work pants, lol. In other words, I needed khaki type pants that were not appropriate for high-heel wearing.

I thought I was the only one who wanted to travel with khaki type pants. I mean they're not dressy at all, but I like that they match everything, LOL and that I can were my denim jacket without having mismatched denim. And an all denim outfit makes me feel like a cowboy (I'm a little neurotic about weird things). Anyway New York & Company has these great khaki type pants that come a a bunch of different colors. I picked them up at the end of the summer when they were having a buy one get one free deal. Not sure if they still have them but you might have luck there. Plus they are always running some sort of sale and if you sign up for their emails they send TONS of coupons!

LOL yeah Long Island is actually considered a suburb of NYC. My brother is the real city-ite though. It was always his dream to live and work there and now he does. LOL he also pays more in rent for his small one bedroom as Greg and I go for our 2 bedroom 2 bathroom. But my brother has a very nice little apartment and he loves it which is what matters. Plus we have a place to crash when we're in the city.

Honestly none of them are terrible close. I have friends that like in Jersey so maybe while I'm visiting I'll ask them if we can go to the one in Edison.

Actually Greg's check will direct deposit on our last full day too. Perfect for any last minute shopping. LOL Plus it's in there at like midnight which is just so great. You gotta love direct deposit!!!

Glad you got the dentist thing all cleared up! Loving the how many days from whatever that you and nic have come up with! I just posted about something sort of similar in my PTR...just with milk cartons! LOL You have to read it to get it!

Good for you that DF's check doubled! That is awesome!

And...on the Justin front...he wants to know what shirt you are wearing now...Got Golf??

I've got nothing on the countdown topic other than the fact that 46 days from today I will be in Disney!!!!!! WoooHooooo!

I love New York & Company! I bought a couple of pairs of pants this weekend at Kohl's and I think I got a good deal. I got cargo pants, which I never buy, but I thought the pockets would be useful. And I know about the mismatched denim. I have one shirt for work that has the school logo on it. It's denim and I love it, but I won't wear it with jeans because it's a light denim and all of my jeans are dark! :rotfl2:

LOL, That's one of the many reasons to love direct deposit! My check will arrive by dd on the 2nd day of my trip. I'm leaving DH with a check for the mortgage, but that is going to be so helpful.

One day, I hope to do Christmas in NYC. I have a friend from Long Island and I want her to show me the ropes.

I like the way Nic thinks... So I did a little research of my own...

United Nations Day - October 24 - 43 Days til Disney (54 for me)
Halloween - October 31 - 36 Days til Disney (47 for me)
Daylight Savings Ends - November 1 - 35 Days til Disney (46 here)
Election Day - November 3 - 33 Days til Disney (44 here)
Veteran's Day - November 11 - 25 Days til Disney (isn't this observed the Monday prior?) (36 here)
Thanksgiving - November 26 - 10 Days til Disney (21 for me)

I need to figure these out. . .hmmmm. . .(actually it's on my work calendar, lol)

Glad you got your tooth fixed. Sorry your dentist was an A hole, did he try to fix it with construction paper?

I like your breakdown of countdowns ( did that make sense), I did that for my last trip, so many cheer practices, this amount of cheer comps, 2 more games. I don't have that this time around, I'll just use yours.

Khaki pants, hmmm I have to wear Khaki for work on the weekends, I love khaki but I never thought to pack any, when I think of khaki I think "uniform" or work, but now I have just added Khaki to my packing list.

wow, sorry about the dentist- i mean, going to the dentist is bad enough, does he really need to make the experience any worse by being a complete jerk? :confused3 hope you are all better though!

and YEAH On being paid off!!! :yay::woohoo:

Love the new pics of Maddie- so cute!!! :thumbsup2

oh and count me in- another NY and Company fan here, great work clothes and stuff. plus jewelry!

We were originally thinking of doing MVMCP on the 6th, but decided the last night is a better idea than the first night, so we're going to go on the 10th. You'll be warming it up for us :) Where will you be the 6th/7th? We're going to do DTD and HS on the 6th and we'll be at MK on the 7th.

Ya know, I have a great dentist, but he'd be a rather long drive for you. . .

I'll come visit your dentist, you go visit Erin's son's teacher and Erin can come here for her clambake! Problems on the world solved :rotfl2:

I have such a hard time shopping for pants! I like a pair that sit lower, but not "The plumber called, he'd like his crack back" low. I want them to fit to a tee without causing muffin top. I also don't want them to stretch out and lose their "hold" in a month. Ugh, I am not looking forward to jeans/khaki shopping... sigh...

I need to plan a long weekend vaca to NYC - never been!

YAY for last minute vacation direct deposits!!! :woohoo:

I loved the bit about the milk! We're getting SOOO close!!!

Now I am wearing my Minnie & Mickey tees... My next one-up attempt: Does Justin have a New York Yankees Mickey Pin? Madi's got the Boston Red Sox one!

Ya, I already hate going to the dentist, the noises drive me nuts! This guy just added to my stresses!!!

... well we're visiting it AGAIN! (Just looked back through the 24 pages and found it - post 269 on page 18)

When I began dreaming up this dream back in April/May I went ahead and bought a Maclaren Volo on ebay from a dealer for a STEAL! I bought it with the intentions of it being our Disney stroller. Then I realized that it doesn't recline and I wasn't too happy about that. Yes it "sags" so that the child isn't so "crane-necked" when sleeping in it - but they also aren't reclined and loving life! SO... I thought about taking the Bugaboo. The Bugaboo is the Rolls Royce of strollers (ours was given to us, I would NEVER spend that kind of money on a stroller!!!) and Madi would be sleeping on a cloud in this thing!

Then I stumbled upon the drama of using a bike lock on the rear tires to deter thieves... never even thought about stroller theft in WDW, guess it can happen anywhere.

Now I am contemplating finding a cheap used one on craigslist or at a yard sale and bringing that. Then we we return I can donate it to the local baby center. Shamus thinks I am crazy for wanting to buy ANOTHER stroller. In Madi's short 2 years we have owned: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, (sorry was naming them off in my head as I counted) yep 5 strollers - but we currently only own the Maclaren and the Bugaboo.

Last night Shamus says: "I thought you bought that pink stroller specifically for this trip?!"
Me: "I did - but that was before I found out it is the number one stolen stroller in Disney! (I may be making that up, but I was stressing a point!)"
Shamus: I thought we were bringing the Bug with a lock?"
Me: "I don't know if I am willing to take that chance!"
Shamus: "Sell that other one then if you're going to buy a new one!"
Me: "No, I like the Maclaren for quick mall trips and such, plus its small and takes up next to no room!"

I think we just stopped talking about it at this point. I found a cute 6 year old Pliko (for the stroller savvy LOL! It reclines and is lightweight, both things are tops on my list, also has no stains/tears!) for $15 and am thinking i may go with that. The colors are kinda gray/greens, it should stand out. I mean $15 isn't going to break the bank.

So, I come to you again! Do I:
1. quit beotching and take the Maclaren as originally planned?
strollermaclarenvoloorange.jpg

2. go for ultimate comfort and take the Bugaboo?
bugaboocameleon.jpg

3. buy a new stroller that meets our needs?

Thanks for listen to the same old broken record. I just can't seem to do this on my own and Shamus is semi-little help on this!

The pin - Justin is so not into Disney...he would never have a pin, even if it is a Yankees one. But, James has the Mickey Yankee one. Lexi got it for him when we were there for Christmas a few years ago. But, no real Disney things for Justin. Although, he did get the Mickey ears santa hat when were there for Christmas in 06. He wore it around the parks the whole time. But, Pooty is wearing it this trip I think??

The stroller - I would go kinda cheap if you are not going to use it again (with a new one). She may not sleep too much in the parks. Plus, you really want something that folds up pretty compact for the buses. There are going to be times that those buses will be CROWDED and you are going to feel like you have to shove the stroller up your ******* just to get on! LOL Plus, you will probably have a bag, right? Picture this...you have a park bag, possibly some purchases that you didn't have sent to the resort, a sleeping Madi, the stroller and a DF that is a bit tired. (You will be fine because you are Disdedicated!) It is the end of the night and there are 100 other women in the bus line with all the same anchors as you weighing them down. (They may even have more kids than just the one.) So, the only goal in everyone's mind is getting to their resort and into their cozy bed. At this point, everyone has tunnel vision and sees no one to either side of them. You all pile onto the buses similar to the way that cattle are herded. You are not really at the front of the line. So, you finally get on. There are no seats. Now, we ALWAYS get up for someone holding a child, a small child that is standing or an older passenger. But, not everyone is quite as nice as us! Believe me! I have been that parent that had to hold their dead weight sleeping child and try to keep their balance holding onto the bar while standing for the entire ride back to the resort! It is on those rides that you feel like the bus driver takes the corners at warp speed and hits the breaks about two feet before they reach the stop. The whole time you are wondering what sort of handicap the nice looking 20-something man sitting holding his girlfriend's hand has that he could not possibly sacrifice his seat for you.
Ok...sorry for the rant! I will get off my soapbox now! But, that does happen and it happens more than you would think! All I am saying is that I would go lightweight and compact in the stroller department! We are going to be stroller-free for the first time! We will see how that works for us! Pooty will probably be out on the bus ride and have to be carried, but that was the case even with the stroller. This time we just don't have to carry the folded up stroller. I just hope he doesn't complain too much about hte walking in the parks. He should be ok. If not, I guess we rent!!!

I totally know what you mean. I cannot have ANY cut in on the pants. Everything has got to lay smooth and flat. LOL Greg and I go to the mall sometimes to just people watch. It's our favorite past time. Honestly, sometimes we just look at each other and say, "Do they own a mirror."

PS-there is a thread somewhere around here with the craziest outfits seen is Disney. I forget where I came across it, but it is HYSTERICAL.

About the stroller: there is a website called freecycle.org, it is a website where people donate things. It is completely legit and it is set up by the county you live in. I always see tons of baby stuff on there, strollers, car seats, sometimes clothes. Greg and I actually got a flat screen TV from there. I know the other stroller is only $15, but if you were interested in just looking, give it a try and see what they have. Things go sort of fast so you've got to strike quickly if you see something you want. Plus when you are finished you can post the stroller and pass it along to someone else who might need it.
