I-Ride Trolley?

OK - was checking out an offsite hotel and just saw this trolley option. I don't really want to rent a car just because I kind of think it will be a pain and we won't use it a lot. I'm wondering if anyone has used the I-Ride Trolley on International Drive and what the experience was like?

Thinking of cabbing it to the hotel, using I-Ride, then cabbing to POP where we will spend the remainder of our trip using Disney transportation anyway. Much cheaper than renting a car, IF the trolley service is reliable and somewhat frequent.

I have never used it but I have read on another forum many UK guests use it a lot on I Drive.

The hotel I was looking at had a link. I think $6 for 2 adults for 3 days is a great deal, as long as the trolleys run relatively frequently. No parking hassles or whatever? Just hoping someone has some experience with it.

The iRide trolley is great. It is very frequent, about every 10 minutes. It runs from about 8am until 11pm. It can get a bit busy sometimes but it is a great way to get around International Drive and to Seaworld etc. You can pay for each journey which I think is now about $1.25 or you can buy a pass for 3 or 7 days for a few dollars.

I just had a thread a week or so about this asking the same questions...I'll post the link to it when I can find it or you can search on "lynx busses" in the transportation forum. If you're coming from the Orlando International Airport, don't take a cab...take the Lynx #42 bus (A terminal side, ground level). That'll run you $4 for both of you to get to your hotel...it goes right down I Drive and stops every few blocks and leaves every half hour from the airport. golynx.com has the bus schedules and maps. I believe there's also a bus that runs from I drive to the Magic Kingdom...but I'm not exactly sure what the route is or the frequency. Again, it'll run you $4 to get there and then you can either catch a cab to the hotel from there or ride Disney transportation to the POP (might be difficult with luggage though).

Considering the I-Ride trolley as well. Does anyone know approximate cab far from the airport? I'm not taking a bus - 4 people + luggage no thanks. Also, we'll need to pick up a rental car to get to Port Canaveral - so anyone know rental locations?

Does the I-Ride Trolley go to Universal or the Royal Pacific Resort? We are thinking about staying there because of a great deal they have on, but I don't want to be stranded onsite, unable to get to 'other' aka cheaper restaurants on I-Drive.

Go to the I-Ride Trolley site (link back a few posts). There is a great map of showing all attractions/restaurants/accomodations. Wish I had known about it, when I was trying to figure out accomodations and proximity to Seaworld etc.

A cab from the Airport to International Drive is about $45

Is it really that much to go from the airport to I-Drive,WOW!It's only like 10 miles,guess I don't take many taxis so I'm not used to what they charge,but it just seems like a lot.

The closest the i-Ride trolley goes to Universal is to Wet N Wild on International Drive. It is then about a 10-15 minute walk to the Universal guest drop off.

The trolley also goes to the Doubletree at the entrance of Universal. I've heard it's a 10 minute walk from there.
