I really need Expedition Everest advice!

I'm not the bravest of the brave. I haven't ridden Mission Space, nor will I. I also will never be caught dead or alive on Hulk. I love RnR, TOT, BTMR and Space. Oh, and Splash. I loved EE!!! Yes, it's a little dizzying, but really only during the backwards sequence. It's so smooth. The attraction is so well done you must try it. The speed isn't that much of a factor...I would guess it might go 50 mph. The drop is big, but lots of fun!

It's not that bad...

This is a strange question, that always gets me a lot of strange looks:

Do you feel like you are going to fall out during the drop? I don't mind the tummy feeling, but I hate that feeling like I can't hold on.

How do you enter the ride? Do you step into it like Splash Mountain? Or zero entry like BTM? IS there a bar at the waist, or an over head bar that goes over your head/shoulders?

Please advise.

Thank you.

I rode 10 times last week! It's awesome!!! To answer a few questions, it has a lapbar, no it does not go upside down, and during the fall I never felt like I was going to fall out. I hate that feeling too and never had any problem with it. I got off and right back on over and over again and never felt disoriented. The CM's started welcoming me by name after about the 4th ride! It was so much fun and I can't wait to ride it again!

I've gone on Everest the last 3 weekends. It's really not the bad. The steep drop didn't feel as bad as Splash Mountain's too me. The beginning of the backwards part got my stomach the first time. I closed my eyes and had myself all psyched up. On each subsequent ride, it didn't get my stomach. My son felt disoriented the first time he rode it. He closed his eyes and felt like he went upside down, you don't. I guess the main thing is, is don't close your eyes.

Is the ride zero entry (no step down or up) or do you step down or up to enter the ride?

Thx everyone, I think I'm going to go for it!!! :thumbsup2

I am right with you on the rollercoaster thing but I really really enjoyed expedition everest, you will love it! not bad at all!

I had my eyes open and I was very disoriented in the dark. To me, it felt like we were going upside down when we were going backwards in the dark even though I knew we weren't (mainly because it just has a lap bar!) Not that I didn't love it, I love all kinds of coasters. :thumbsup2

I was nervous about it when we went...and i told myself..ok you have to ride it just once..cause hey your here for ap riders and you are one of the first to ride sooo you have to do it..so i did...and i missed the yeti altogether..sooo i had to ride it again...and i am glad i did...it is great!!!!..you will find after you ride it that you are just in awe of what disney can do...

I asked this question about a month ago and some idiot jumped in and called me a baby for asking!!!!!!

I can't wait to ride it! I am not a roller coaster fan, per se, meaning I just hate all those big fancy looking ones that you hang from and stuff like that. But I love all the MK mountains and even RnR, so if it's no worse than those, I think I can handle it!

Ok - I get very very sick to my stomach on Space Mountain, did ToT once and won't do it again, BTMRR is about all I can handle, and I have NEVER done RNR, and probably never will - BUT - I want to do EE - can I take it?

Just a tip: The back of the train is a much more intense ride than the front of the car. The drop feels much longer than if you are sitting at the front. I was seated near the very back and a woman in front of us who had just ridden in the front said it was a completely different ride back there. So if you're scared, go with the front. If you're up for a bigger thrill, sit in the back!

It was amazing and everyone should try it. I didn't think the drop was as bad as Splash Mtn. (although the drop looks much smaller than it feels!) and I did not find the backwards part that disorienting, although I don't mind riding backwards to begin with- my mom did feel slightly dizzy for a few minutes after getting off the ride, but she loved it too! :thumbsup2
