It was a long political season and so much crap was spewn from both sides, it is still fresh in my mind.

The Bush Presidency is done, and no matter what side of the political aisle you are on, further jabs, insults and criticism will not change anything. As he himself said at his last news conference yesterday (which I thought was pretty candid, insightful, and even eloquent, for him!), he will be "off the stage" when his time is done.

What I don't understand is the attitude that President-Elect Obama is somehow off limits to scrutiny and critique. As an incoming President, his agenda and policies are just being put into place, and they will have a significant impact on us all. So yes, I do think it is fair to assess and criticize the incoming Administration.

You know what? I've respected every President we've had based on the position they hold.

I just can't do that with this Bush. He has purposely earned my disrespect. Do I need to go off every second and say how bad he's mucked us up? No, but I certainly can't respect him. Is that bashing? I don't think so but your mileage may vary.

I will celebrate when he leaves office. Again, is that bashing, I don't think so.
