I am in the process of planning a trip for my family (DH, DS 2yrs., DB and DNephew 10yrs.) We have always stayed on site, but I am looking to venture out... I have a few questions about HIFS... My DH likes when we stay on site at WDW that we do not have to get into our car until we are ready to go home... How is the transportation from HIFS to WDW? How often do the buses run? We would like to take afternoon breaks back at the hotel, is this possible, if so how easy or hard is it?

Thank you....

We never used the transportation, but I do know that without car travel you will need to eat all your meals at HIFS or at your Disney destination for the day, as there are no grocery stores or restaurants within walking distance.

We also rented a car when we stayed at HIFS and that helped us a lot. However, two days we were there my DH played golf at Disney and took the car. So, my two kids (DS 4 and DD 2) and I used the bus transportation. We were there at Easter time, so I don't know if the buses run more often during that time or not. But, there were buses leaving all the time to get there. The first return bus came back at 1:00 PM. And they ran until about 1 hour after the parks closed. The bus transportation was easy enough, but it was much easier to use the car. My DH said that next time he would rather stay on-site and not have to get into a car while we are there. Though we did enjoy the extra rooms at HIFS, especially since my Mother was with us.
