Hi Hi Everyone!:goodvibes

It's almost the weekend, yeah yeahhhh:cheer2:

Does anyone have any pictures of Bugs Land at night?

I'm planning on going to DCA the first day of our trip which due to flights puts us in DCA at about 5.

Which rides should we go on with twin 4 year olds and a 6 year old?

We will be wanting a relaxing night, fun yet not rush rush after the two flights.

Also are there any special things that we need to see at night at DCA?

When we went in Feb. we stayed at DL the entire time and so DCA will be new for us.:upsidedow

I know there is alot of construction going on, that's why we are thinking, let's go to DCA that first late afternoon and evening. Then hit DL and enjoy all the decorations during the day.

Thanks for Your help!:grouphug:

What day of the week/what month will that be? On a lot of days, DCA closes super early (6pm.)

I would have sworn I had some, but I couldn't find them. Odd.

This is as the sun was starting to come down; it feels darker in bug's land b/c of the big blades of grass and clover that tower like trees.

Every ride in bug's land is fun, IMO. Even the very slow and short Heimlich's Chew Chew Train. Well, the "bumper cars" are a tight squeeze when you need an adult to drive it, but DS sure has fun. :)

Once DCA closes you can head over to DL to end the evening, since DCA closes much earlier.

All I had as far as pics go were closeups of the kids, so they don't really show what bugs land looks like. Sorry!

Thank You all for responding.:goodvibes

That date will be Dec. 11th...a thursday.:teacher:

Thanks for the link to the page.. I have bookmarked it and will check it out.:thumbsup2

I know this will sound weird.. but I'm worried that with the construction going on and it being night..that it might be dark and scary for the kids. Pleassssssssssse tell me I am WronG!

I really doubt they'll find it scary. There is fun upbeat music playing on a loop throughout the area, there are bright colors all over, and there are lights. The twilight picture was weirdly dark b/c, well, twilight is weird! You can see the lightbulbs in my picture; they look like fireflys on the blades of clover. :)

I don't really know what exact construction might be going on by then, but when Disney does construction, they wall off whatever they are working on. So you'll just see big walls, not machinery etc.

And if it's scary to them, just wander around! DCA is gorgeous at night.

no way....the music is totally fun and there are hanging colored lanterns all over...it's very fun. i've been taking my kids there for years, and even as babies and toddlers, they were never ever frightened by anything there.

you can go to the disneyland website, click on california adventure, then click on the attractions. just start clicking on all the ones in bugs land....like flik's flyers, etc., and a pic will pop up with each one, as well as a description!

:)

So you'll have about an hour in the park that night.

I looked through my photos and I found some from 2006.

A light....

That's pretty much all I have of that area...except for a few from when it was decorated around Christmas.

Great pictures! Thank You for sharing them!:goodvibes

Aaahh... So it's lit up brightly.. I don't know why but I thought eehhh DCA is not so good.. let's not go there.:confused3

Guess I was wrong.. It will be fun to check out that first night.

How early does it close??

We may go back to the room after Bugs Land.. to get a good night's sleep for mm early wake up.

ooohh I want to see the pictures of it decorated at christmas time..

we will be going Dec. 11th..
:santa:

No, they have to keep things adequately lit....the last thing they want is lawsuits waged by people who tripped and got hurt because they couldn't see in the dark. ;)

I checked the disneyland website and it says DCA closes at 6pm that night. Disneyland is open until 10pm.

These are from 2006.....

Yeah...weren't the Jetson's supposed to be around the year 2000 or something? haha.

I don't know why but I thought eehhh DCA is not so good.. let's not go there.:confused3

I thought that too, before I went. Did 2 1-day trips just getting one-day one-park tickets b/c I thought the whole concept was so silly.

Ha. I like DCA more than I like DL, if truth be told. Maybe just by 1%, but still, I like it more. I *definitely* enjoy bug's land more (as does my son) than Fantasyland. Less scary stuff (no snow white, no pinocchio, no alice which scares DS for some reason, no going to Hades on Mr Toad, though I'll admit we have not seen "it's tough to be a bug" in a bug's land) and the music is more fun. :goodvibes

Bumbershoot ... Oooohh i think mabe it's that DCA might be more geared to childrens animation that has come out within the last say 5 years or so..while DL is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyy back in the day. So perhaps it's a relating thing.

JaneJetson... i want that FaFiNkA press the button and a fabu meal appears like on the Jetsons.

This is our FIRST trip at Christmas.. well Dec 11th thru Dec 14th... we have to work within one being in school so we can only take her out two days.. with a weekend addition.. those Pesky Parents of hers..don't they remember us taking them out of school to go to WDW?!

We are also taking my mother.. she LOVES Disneyland. I'm trying to send pictures to the grandchildren and my mother for them to see and enjoy. So Your pictures have helped alot.

If You have anymore of the park during christmas that would be great!

And if I don't post back it's because we are loading up the car to go to the lake til tuesday..last little vacation before school starts!

Oh I have TONS of Christmas photos from last year. But are you sure you want to see them? Would you rather be surprised when you get there?
