OKAY, so my family and I (mom, brother and myself) are heading to the world from august 20th-29th and as a mothers day gift to my mom I wanted to give her spending money for disney since she doesn't have ANY for herself in her budget! :scared1: ...now here's where I need help... as Canadians we can't get gift cards because they won't work at Disney so I need a creative way to gift her the disney "spending money" so that she doesn't spend it on anything else! Now I know I could just tell her not to spend it before Disney but I want to do something a little more fun :goodvibes

any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I know this isn't a very original idea but I would just give her some American money. Maybe you can find a unique Mickeyish way to wrap it or maybe wrap the money in an old park map.

You could make her a Disney looking Gift Card out of card stock, and have on it redeemable at WDW. Then when you get to Disney, get the real one to present to her. I think that's so thoughtful of you :thumbsup2

I love this! I'll have to see if I can make the card well enough as I'm not the most artistic of people ;)! and thank you :goodvibes she's a pretty fantastic mom and deserves it!

You don't say where you are located, but if you are close to a border town, you could drive to the US and pick some up. I think they are available at most stores that sell gift cards.

You could make some sort of voucher and then exchange it when you get down there. I have given my parents ones for cruise credit before and they have actually thought they were real.

The American money idea is also excellent as she probably won't be able to spend it before anyways.

If you really want a gift card, there is always Ebay. You might have to find a buyer in the US and see if they will ship to Canada. You are at least protected by Ebay/Paypal if there is an issue with the card.

Yes I'd give her American money and indicate somehow it's for Disney. It works great for our kids when family gives them US money becuase they know it's for their trip!:cool1:

You should print out Disney dollars and then give her the actual cash when you get to Disney. I did this with my kids when they were little. They earned their spending money with chores, etc. and I paid them with these printed dollars. There are many different denominations. Just do a Google image search for Disney dollars and then print them out in colour!!

That's what we did when we gave "Disney" spending money to our kids for Christmas.
