I was in middle school in the late 80's and HS in the early-mid 90's. One phrase that I think may have been specific to our area was "retread". It was used as an insult because we weren't allowed (at school anyway, which is where I usually heard it) to call anyone retarded. So somebody came up with the insult 'retread'.
I think we also used the term 'gay' a lot as kind of an insult. Like "OMG that's SO gay!".
My 15yo says they STILL say the "gay" thing in middle school... ugh...
If you want OLD sayings you should've been in my son's social studies class last week....he had a substitute who was stuck in the WRONG decade... He said things like "Right On" and "keep on trucking"....

If my son didn't watch Good Times he'd have NO IDEA what he was talking about!!!
