Wow, I can really relate to your situation. I just moved my Mom in with us because she couldn't live alone after we lost my DF to lung cancer in March. I know how difficult this must be for you. My prayers are with you both!

Boy am I soo with you ( as I said in PM) I am youngest of three - yet am the only one near Mom - she has been deathly ill for three weeks - and I have been running between work and hospital for that entire time. My thoughts and prayers are wtih you and her -and know we are all there for ya.

hugs and lots of kisses - and if you are feeling stressed - you can talk to your mom's nurse and ask for someone to talk to as well - Hospitals heal ALL people - not only the one in the bed! ( I know I work at a hospital ! )

I just want to thank all of you for all of your messages and prayers. My last visit to the hospital tonight, Mom was upset that she would have to have a catheter put in, she had been having trouble in that department earlier in the week as well. I told her that I had my Dis family sending out prayers and pixie dust and she wanted me to tell you all thank you. Well, I have to go get some rest and watch the weather and see what TS Irene is doing and start preparing just in case she comes our way next week.

Going to the store this a.m. and will get a nice cheerful card, will have it in the mail this afternoon. Hope this cheers her up.
I know what it's like to be in the hospital all alone and ill. I have done it many times the past few years. Accept for DH and a son everyone else was across the country from me, it really helps to get a surprize card from someone. Sending more pixie dust and prayers today for both of you.

Well, this morning I received a phone call stating that the doctor wanted to drain fluid from Mom's lung, so hopefully that will make her feel better. I'll write again when we find out how the procedure did.

LOTS of good luck and wishes sending your way. My mother has gone into the NASTY stage - where she YELLS at everyone that walks in her room. Guess that may mean she is feeling better...

I hope with that draining she will be feeling better and better

Hello Everyone
Just another update. Mom has to have a chest tube placed tomorrow to have the fluid drained out of her lung, there isn[t a lot in there, but it is kind of thick. But her spirits are up and she is feeling fiesty and wanting to come home.

Mom is doing much better even though she can't really get comfortable with the chest tube, but it is doing it's job and the doctors say that they are looking towards monday or tuesday for her to leave the hospital.

HI- I am so sorry to hear of your Mother's illness. Just hang in there and take care of her the best way you know how. I hope she feels better. The 2 of you are in my thoughts and prayers. She certainly is lucky to have you to take care of her. The chest tubes are certainly uncomfortable. Hopefully she will be able to have it removed soon. She is in my thoughts and prayers.
