I need motivation help-- UPDATE* SB Bear pg 3--Layouts pg 2

I am going to an all day crop tomorrow. I signed up for it months ago not knowing I would end up having surgery 3 weeks ago and be unable to walk. DH is going to take me and get me in and help me get myself set up and then I will have friends there to help me during the day and DH will come back and get me at the end of the day.


I have procrastinated all week on packing up my stuff. I haven't scrapbooked in months and months. I have to limit myself to only what I can fit in my rolling crop tote (why the heck can't I remember the name of that thing??). I will probably take my Disney stuff since it is sort of a compact "grouping" of things, and not all over like my assorted pages. I even have page kits all ready. I just can't get the motivation to get in there and start digging and get it all together.


I should be doing it right now but now I am procrastinating again and am here instead. Just checking out some great layouts! I think I am nervous about how this will work tomorrow, but I know I will have a great time once I get there. If I ever get my stuff packed up.

well you are still here so I assume you aren't packing. Get moving young lady!!!!!!!!

Go get your tools done first, and grab a notebook too, in case you forget something. Grab those kits next, and make sure you have plenty of adhesive!!!

Now go on, I want a progress report in 1 hour. I'll be home til 11 then I leave to go get DH. So I expect your bag to be done before I leave!

Sweetie, I'm having the same problem. Just passed up an invitation from my hubby to meet some of our friends at Starbucks because I NEED to get my stuff packed up for my all day crop that starts at 8 tomorrow!

I hope everything goes smoothly for you...I'm sure it will be fine. Sounds like you have a good hubby and friends who will help you with everything.

I'll make you a deal...let's both get our butts OFF this forum and get our stuff packed up...we can be each other's motivation! Deal?

Okay. I have most everything I need all packed up. I say "MOST" because you know I will find out tomorrow that I forgot something! I had to get hubby to bring it all out and laid it out on my bed and sorted a bunch of stuff. I was actually able to get most of it in the Crop in Style tote, my paper taker and just one extra bag so it will be managable.


I did have a bunch of page kits made up with the photos and paper. I got them together for a weekend crop, oh, about 5 years ago! You know one of those where you plan to do 100 layouts in 3 days and in reality you only do about 5. But my extra paper, embellishments, etc were all over the place. Walmart had tons of stuff on clearance a few months ago and I had bought a bunch and never put it away.


Now Buffy come on over and pester me anytime and we can scrap together! You know, next time you are in the neighborhood!

Bikergranny, are you all packed up? Maybe we can both run to Starbucks on the way to our crops in the morning to make up for tonight!

Monochromatic? I am a bright colors, the spunkier the better type gal.

Ooops, just realized that I need to get my camera for tomorrow.

Hey I'll be at WDW the same time as you! I'm just jealous you are going to an all day crop tomorrow. I was supposed to go to one but a family event came up. I actually had three I was planning to go to but either something came up with us or the person planning it had to change it. I soooooo need an all day crop. The one tomorrow I could have gone to is for 12 hours. Man I could have gotten a lot done. I might have been able to finish my 2005 trip before we go on our next one. Oh and I still have our 2007 trip to do and the baby's book (he's 14 months now), and the rest of our 2007 family album. And maybe by 2009 I'll start the 2008 book. So much to scrap, so little time! Have a great time tomorrow at your crop and maybe I'll see you around the world!

This is an 11 hour crop-- and I just had a heart attack because I LOST my ticket. After some frantic digging with paper flying I found it! Yeeks.

Not sure how much I will get done. I didn't realize they were having classes. Apparently there are also Make and Take tables and 400 pages we can photograph. I may spend the entire day just oohing and aahing and taking classes. I haven't been to a crop in several years. I am getting excited now. Hanging out here and looking at layouts is getting the scrapping juices going.


Colleen, I am going to WDW with several other DIS ladies for a Girls only trip. If you are interested in trying to meet up with us for a meal or a drink or just to say Hi send me a PM. We are kind of a crazy bunch though! You can't miss us in the parks. At least 2 ECV's and loud crazy women with tiaras!

Our trip plan is pretty packed. We'll be the ones with 4 kids in tow pushing the big blue double stroller. I'll be the one shouting, "We need to go THIS way!" I'll keep an eye out for your tiaras and ECVs. Sounds like a fun girls trip. Where are you staying? We'll be at Sartatoga Springs.

FINALLY! I just finished about an hour ago!

It's funny because I'm working on this 9/11 Tribute book so my materials are pretty much "contained" (red, white, blue, patriotic, black & grey) papers and embellishments, and the photos are already organized, yet it still took me several hours to pack everything up!

Ironically, I had just UNpacked everything a few weeks ago when I set up my new scrapbook room...didn't think I'd be able to make this all day crop because DH and I were scheduled for a bike ride to Philly this weekend. We cancelled at the last minute and there was still room for me at the crop, so I switched my plans but was totally unprepared.

Hope you have a GREAT time tomorrow (ugh, later today!) and get a lot of pages done!

It was so great! I got a bunch of pages done and had a great time. I got very lucky and we were in the back of the room and near the bathrooms so I didn't have to go very far! It worked out great for DH to bring all my stuff in and then come back and get me. I was worried they might not let him in since he didnt have a ticket! But they didn't bat an eye, and asked if there was anything they could do to help us out. I haven't been to a crop in several years. I really had forgotten how much fun they are!

I didn't get to take any pics of my layouts, I will try to do that tomorrow. I am not "thrilled" with any of them, but was working towards getting layouts done, not creating artistic masterpieces!

Now I want to stay up all night scrapping! But I am exhausted so maybe I will try to get some time in tomorrow. And my foot is killing me so I probably need some meds. No telling what sorts of layouts I might come up with then!

OH! And I won the first door prize! It was one of CM's new products. Can't remember exactly what though, it has been over 12 hours since I saw it last!

I'm impressed that anybody can get things done at crops. I just stare at what I've brought on the table and chat all day/night. I require deep thought before I cut my patterned paper for some reason. If I can't focus then forget it! I'm glad you had fun

That is usually me too. I usually am walking around looking at displays, seeing what others are working on, looking through their albums, and just chatting with the friends around me.

But since I couldn't walk this time I had to stay seated. I even put off going to the bathroom as long as possible. I did want to go and look at the 400 layouts on display for us to look at and take photos of, but it was on the other side of the room (this was a huge convention center) and just too much effort for me to get there.

And my good friend was very busy concentrating on a bunch of sorting and working on page kits for her future crops so she wasn't very chatty. The tables were so big and the room so loud that it was hard to talk across from you. I was able to get in the "zone" and keep going.

I do that too! Once I'm at a crop I want to finish what I started when I get home. DH would kill me though!

Once you're in the zone it's all good. I have a tough time getting moving too but like when I go to Lisa's to crop, the girls get into a quiet rhythm and it goes nicely.

So my page total for the weekend was 22 pages! I did 8 more yesterday. Okay, some still need titles, but those will just be printed from my computer or stickered on.

Here are the ones I did on Saturday. Excuse the small size of some of them. I don't really like to post photos of my family so I reduced them and took some from far to keep the photos from being too clear.

These 2 are part of a multi page section of All Star Movies photos. There will be a title page at the beginning of the section.

This is the fastest page I have ever done!

Mad Tea Party--still needs the title

Epcot-- I hate the title design. I will probably redo it.

Beauty and the Beast-- needs a title. Going to do it with stickers but I can't get to them right now.

The 2nd page of this layout-- The top right corner needs something else, but not sure what? I like the rose under glass but it was too small so I added the other stuff but it is still not "right"

This purple paper has an imprint of Mickey all over it.

Non Disney layout-- DD ripped the wallpaper off of the wall at my in laws house and after my initial shock I made DH grab the camera as I was already designing the layout in my mind! 5 years later I finally got it done. I have to look up the exact date and age to add to this.

I didn't get a photo but there is a small piece of "notebook paper" in the folder with the journaling.
