I need help with limewire

whats p2p i have heard of it.. and are the songs free and copatable with itunes or an ipod??

My teacher did research. limewire is actually filesharing. You cant get in trouble.

Unless he lied rofl.

It is file sharing.
It's illegal though because it is taking files without the owners permission which is stealing...
Then the artist doesn't get payed for their porduct.

yea thats what i figured.. but they get so much money anyways i think its stupid

You wont get caught if you download songs. Your age has nothing to do with you getting fined or not. Its not downloading that is illegal, its sharing it with others that is. So download all you want just dont let other download from you.

yup.
downloading isn't illegal.
It is the sharing and putting it out there that is.

Id assume so. I dont use itunes nor do I have an ipod so I dont know everything about how to get songs on it but with my mp3 player. I just find the songs I want on my harddrive then have them be imported onto my mp3 player.

You do realize, that if you were to get fined, you wouldn't be paying for it, your parents would (unless you were extremely unlucky) and then you'd probably feel guilty, for a long, long time.

She isnt going to get fined. Its like going into a gocery store and trying a grape in the bag. People do it and the likely hood of having to pay for it is extremely small.

so many people use limewire its not even funny i mean you go into my school and you ask people what do you use to get songs on your ipod and everyone i have asked uses limewire. i have never heard anyone getting caught by using limewire the government is to busy with the other worldy problems to give a care. i only use limewire when i have to like when i have no more money on my itunes card but thats the only reason.

well its ok b/c mii dad is a cop.... but i nneed to no if that aol is free

Just because your dad is a cop you think you get special privliges(sp?)? Niiiiiice. :smokin:

I use Walmart.com for my music. Its only .88¢ per song. I think I can manage .88¢.

I used to have limewire until my mom convinced me not to use it. I never got songs from it, and my computer like got whacked up after I installed it. I fixed it, but now If i don't have money, I don't get songs and I'd rather do that then run into the law, even if you don't get caught.

The only reason they have money is because of truthful and trustworthy people who pay them. Without people that actually do what they're supposed to do like download them LEGALLY our pop stars and singers would be broke. Just like if you charged people to, I dunno, tour your house and someone illegally video taped your house and showed it to everyone for free, you wouldn't be making any money and you wouldn't like it at all.

I don't think you should think that being legal is stupid.
I don't think you should use Limewire, especially if you don't know how to use it. It's a waste of time and, if you're caught, money.
iTunes is good. Buy from them.

But if you took more than one grape, like downloading more than one song, it'd add up... All those grapes would be like a CD and then, well, my point-- It adds up. Really, 88 cents or 99 cents isn't that much for a song. Really you should go with the law, laws are good. Laws were made for good. It's best if you follow them.

Really 88 cents or 99 cents is alot. A full CD is 13 bucks and thats alot. I suppose you favor the segregation of Black people because segregation was the law and laws are made for good. And iTunes is a horrible program. Id never install that crap on my computer.

The laws were made for good. Laws are made to protect people. The government did what they thought was right. No I don't favor the segregation of African American.

It's not a lot for music.
Music is worth a lot.

My friend uses limewire... I use something else, sorry :(

Okay people. This is about limewire. Not the segregation of black people.

Calm down guys. :]

I only use p2p when I can't find the track anywhere elsewhere, and these would include b-sides and rarities. Sometimes I'll download a song by an artist to try them out and see if I like them. Also, 13 bucks for a CD? If so, where? CD's are base-priced at 18.99 now, which is ludicrous. I would hate to see the day, however, when all music goes digital. Really, there is nothing better than waiting for an album, and then getting your hands on the PHYSICAL release. You know, listening to the songs while you look at the artwork and read over the lyrics? Nothing better, really. iTunes isn't a horrible program, it's wonderful for sorting out music files. While I may not download much from their store, it really is a good file sorter.

However, in the long run, who really loses when you don't pay for the music you download? I'm not talking about laws, I'm talking about your opinion. It's not the big companies, or the big artists/bands. No, honestly it's the little bands that lose the most money. And as these bands get sifted out because they don't make money, honestly, what will we have left? The same over-produced crap they play on the radio.

ETA: Also, I cannot believe you compared RIAA laws to black & white segregation. That was really stupid.
