I have a english assignment to write a paper on a question I want answered. My question is, "How to plan a Disney vacation for 7 days?" But the catch is I dont want the usual Disney experiance, I need to find out all the intersting things to do and see that only the most advanced Disney people know about. So tell me your favorite thing to do and what cool things you found that no one knows about. I already know that I'm staying at the Yacht club, so if you have info on that let me know. Also the times that I should be places to catch certain things like a show or characters. I'm 18, so also include the night life and Pleasure Island. Thank you for your help. The more I get the better:wave:

Over on the Theme park board there are tons of tips about navigating the parks and must see attractions. :) Lots of people post their trip itineraries there, and on the Trip Report board. :)Also check out the restaurant board for meal ideas. :)

Just read as much as you can here on the DIS and you'll be fine. :)

to sample different countries foods.........we like to try out Epcot and the sit down restaurants and also the fast food places......sometimes the best thing is talking to the cm's from different countries that take care of the stores and the restaurants.......we do enjoy that....
Being from a state where the winters can be harsh.......we enjoy the thoughts of being able to go without 20 lbs of boots and clothes and the really big chance of going swimming .......to each their own I guess.....
I think as older dis lovers .......we see things a little different then the young "kids" we love to people watch......and we still do every ride we can get to ......

I would take the surfing lesson available at Typhoon Lagoon. That looks like a lot of fun.

I'd also go parasailing. I believe the boat leaves from the Contemporary.

An Illuminations Cruise is a great experience. $120 for the hour (you can get 12 people in a boat, so it works out to $10 each plus tip). Your Captain will give you a fun and interesting tour of WDW waterways and then tie up just before the fireworks start. You really feel the heat on the water.

Also, the Key's to the Kingdom Tour is a must for anyone who wants to learn the secrets behind the magic at the Magic Kingdom.

Good luck,

Barbe

You could also put your question out on the Disney Tips board...

My favorite things to do...hmmmm...
Character meals! A Meal with Mickey or Pooh can make my day!
And the kids too, they are 18 and 15 and still enjoy a good character interaction. This year we'll eat with Donald-a late breakfast- at the Breakfastasaurus at Animal Kingdom; we'll see Mickey and Goofy at Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary hotel for a late lunch; and we'll see Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger at the Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom for a late breakfast. We might even eat a early dinner at Cinderella's Castle in Magic Kingdom-you might only see Cinderella, but the atmosphere in the Castle is just gorgeous!

Eating at off times increases your character time, less people eat breakfast at 10 or 11 am and dinner at 3 in the afternoon.

:teeth:

Asking to be seated outside at the Rose N Crown for a late dinner and watching IllumiNations. You feel like the fireworks are on top of you! There is no better view!:D

Breakfast in the Castle with the Princesses and Prince Charming.

Using Fast Pass and not standing in line all day!:D

Watching Tinkerbell start the fireworks.

The Family Magic Tour at Magic Kingdom.

One great tip I learned here was that you can ask to ride in the front of the monorail, with the driver!! It's an incredible view from up there, and they'll even give you a Monorail Pilot's license :sunny:

Eating at the Contemporary just before the fireworks. You can then go up to the observation deck and have a great view. And, they pipe in the music up there, so it's extra special.

We also rented a pontoon boat from the Wilderness Lodge dock. Great fun.:D
