I have tried and tried to locate some information on a set of crystal bells I have. I have 13 bells about 4 3/4 inches tall with gold Disney characters (about an inch tall) in them. I can't remember how much I paid for them but I know it was quite a lot. I bought them because I had never seen them before. The only markings are a copyright Disney on the gold character (had to use a very powerful magnifying glass to see this). I have searched and searched for information on them. Do any of you have any favorite sites with Disney collectable information? Has anyone ever seen these?

There is a shop in DTD that does crystal pieces. I can't think of the name but we have it listed on the DIS Main site as EuroSpain. You may want to check with them or The Art of Disney as they also do a lot of crystal.

It sounds like a mail order subscription series sold by the New England Collectors Society (NEC) some time ago. I have one of Tinker Bell that is what you describe.

There were several characters that I have seen at shows over the years including Mickey Mouse, Scrooge, Donald Duck, Dumbo & Dopey that I remember. Each character is the clapper of the bell, is gold and hangs from a gold chain. My Tinker Bell is ©Disney on the back of her wing which means she was produced after 1986. I bought quite a few at a show some years ago. The person would only sell them all together and I only wanted Tinker Bell. They came in plain white boxes with NEC on the bottom of the box.

New England Collector's Society made many Disney items for subscription series back in the 80's. Some of the series were china thimbles, silver bells with enamel tops, silver spoons with enamel tops (matched the bells), silver bells with gold characters on the top, silver bells with silver characters on the top, ceramic salt & pepper shakers and I'm sure more.

The mail order subscriptions were much like the Danbury Mint products of today. You order the first one and then get the rest automatically every month or so.

Hope that helps.
