what I can do with about 50 empty plastic film canisters. You know, the little black (sometimes white) thing that new film comes in to keep it fresh.

When the kids were little, we used these for holding lunch money. But now they're too old for that.

I'm reluctant to throw them away b/c as soon as I do, odds are I'll need them.

So, what can I do with them??? :confused3

What about donating them to a preschool? My DS loves to collect glitters, bugs, small rocks and all sorts of other little things. Sometimes, the teacher will send him home with his little treasures in an old film container.

Storage for all the little things in life. Buttons, change (for in the car, purse), paper clips, hair pins, small hair clips, first-aid kit with band-aids and neosporin packets for your purse or car.

Call your local Boys Scout/Girl Scout offices and ask if they are interested in them.

One year for Cub Scout Daycamp I used film cannisters for mini first aid kits and rockets. The first aid kits included band aids, wet wipe, candy (for diabetics), and then we attached a bit of yarn to wear them around their necks. For the rockets we wrapped construction paper around them then added a cone shaped piece of paper. Inside the "rocket" we placed an alka seltzer (rocket fuel) and a bit of water. We were shooting these 20-30 feet into the air. Another year we wrote the scouts' names on them and they kept the items they found that day, arrowhead and wheat penny, in them.

Thought of another idea. Put an extra house key in it and put it somewhere in the gargage just in case you lock yourself out. Hide jewerly in them.

Oh yeah we used to roll up... uh... well nevermind.

I was picking out my pics one time from walmart and a lady asked the photo lab guy about the empty canisters, she said that they a daycare and they used them to do crafts. So you can take them to where you develope your film.

They are perfect for soaking oboe reeds. I used these film canisters to store these reeds and to soak them.

Since we are a digital camera family, I sometimes go to the film counters and ask for a few.
