Any recommendations?

My washer died tonight. We were planning on replacing washer/dryer after new year as they are at least 13 years old. I'll probably just get the washer now and the dryer later.

Have a washer you love? Tell me about it.

No help here, I want to see the replies you get, too.
I have a maytag that is 22 years old! :lmao:
That darn thing just keeps working and working!!!

But, I have been thinking about getting a new one if for nothing else than the water savings features.

If you can you might want to wait until the day after Thanksgiving. Sears is going to have a great sale - they are offereing a Kenmore frontload washer and dryer for the total price of $599 that morning!!! That is $599 for BOTH! Plus they are having other special on other washers and dryers.

I check out the website Gottadeal.com for all the specials and deals for the holidays.

Fisher and Paykel top loader - it's as efficient as the front loaders, or you can wash conventionally. The dryer is top loading also.

I bought this pair, if I had bought a front load pair, it would have been the Bosch.

I love my Whirlpool frontloader. We noticed a huge savings in water usage right away and I think it really does a better job of cleaning our clothes. With my large family, the large capacity saves me lots of time.:goodvibes

I just had to replace my washer and dryer. Both died on the same night. Anyway, I did some research and decided on the Bosch 500 series front load washer and dryer. It had some great reviews and it was made in the US! I have had it for a month and I love it! My SIL has Bosch washer for three years and loves hers! She hasn't had any problems with it and her clothes come out clean.

hey i just saw a commercial for home depot and said that all appliances over$300 are 10% off!:thumbsup2

a little insider info.....

check clearanceareas at lowes/home depot/ sears/ best buy etcnow.

new lines are being rolled out to be available on black friday and last years stuff will be gone before hten. i know one guy just got 4 top of the line dishwashers from our store for the list price of one of them less than a month ago

A few months ago I would have told you that I love my GE Adora but it broke and dealing with GE for warranty work has been a nightmare. We've been without a washer for 2 months now while they keep sending out a repair guy who keeps telling them it is not repairable. I also have what the repairman said is over $1000 in parts sitting in my laundry room/half bath, so we are not able to use the half bath because it is full of washer parts. So..... family of five, no washer, and no second toilet. I ***HATE*** GE right now.

Thanks for all the replies. It's very overwhelming trying to decide. The color choices alone are crazy. I'll probably just get white because it'll be tucked away in the laundry room but I love the funky colors! Today is shopping day. Wish me luck!

We went with white since the colors were more expensive. I do recommend Lowe's if you have one. They have the best return policy that we have found. You can take it back just because you find you don't really like it. They also have some sort of "lemon" thing that they will replace it if you have it back 3 times for the same thing. At least our store does.

Our deciding factors for the Bosch were the: eco sensor; wrinkle refresh; wrinkle relaxer; the water comes out of the sides and not just the back. There was a whirlpool we liked but it was $100 more for each so we went with the cheaper.

Happy Shopping!

I bought the LG Steam Washer and Steam Dryer this summer, I just love them. I got the red ones with the pedestools (sp) We also got the extended warranty for up to six years. They were expensive, but worth the money. I am very very happy with them. They use less water and the drying time has been cut in half. These were number one in Consumer Reports. :thumbsup2

We ended up buying the Electrolux with pedastals in blue. The blue was only $100 more so I got it. Unfortunately because we went so late I have to wait until Wednesday for delivery.
