I need a Full House tutorial!

My daughter loves Full House, but I never got into it when it was on.

Where did all these kids come from? Where are all the moms? Who are the dads?

Mary Kate and Ashley only play ONE kid, right?

This is the only question I can answer and the answer is: YES, just one kid.

Danny Tanner is the father, his wife Pam died in a drunk-driving accident before the show started.

His kids are DJ, Stephanie, and Michelle (played by both Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen).

Jesse (or Uncle Jesse) is Pam's brother who came to live with the family to help out after Pam's death. He later married Becky (who is Danny's cohost on Wake Up San Francisco) and had twins Nicky and Alex (there are 2 of them).

Joey is Danny's childhood friend and college roommate. He is NOT related and is NOT called "Uncle Joey". He also moved in to help out when the mom died and never left.

Kimmy Gibbler is the next-door neighbor and DJ's friend.

Steve is DJ's boyfriend in a few seasons and also provided the voice of Aladdin.

Mary Kate is the lefty, Ashley is the righty. Ashley's eyes are larger than Mary Kate's. Ashley had a teeny tiny lisp when she first started speaking. Yes, I've watched the shows many times. It has been my dd's most favorite show. And she made me study MK and A to tell them apart for her on each show.

I thought the show was very cute. Short synopsis: Danny Tanner (tall skinny guy, lol) has three daughters, DJ - Stephanie - Michelle (played by the Olsen twins) and his wife died sometime before Michelle turned one. Danny couldn't handle three kids and job so Danny's deceased wife's brother Jesse (John Stamos) moves in to help as does Danny's best friend, Joey. Not sure which season you're in, but eventually Jesse marries Danny's cohost Becky (Danny & Becky do a morning talk show) and they have twin sons played by real life twins.

It doesn't seem like that long ago that it aired but both older daughters are now married in real life with kids of their own.

I got confused as to who is who.

So Danny (the American's funniest videos one) is the Dad?

John Stamos becomes a dad?

And the other guy (who does the voices) had no love interest or kids?

Just a tidbit of trivia. Not sure how DJ got to be called "DJ" but the intials stand for Donna Jo IIRC.

And it's not true about Joey not being called "uncle Joey'. He IS called Uncle Joey by all the kids, even though he's not related.

The guy who plays Joey was also on a kids' show ages and ages ago on Nickelodeon that parodied the news.

Yes, DJ stands for Donna Jo - she was named after her mother (an earlier post said that her mother's name was Pam, but I'm pretty sure it was Donna).

What's funny is I always thought that Mary-Kate Ashley Olsen was the full name of ONE child. It wasn't until I was much older did I find out "she" was actually a set of twins!!

BTW, Dave Coulier (the guy with the voices) is said to be an inspiration for a couple of Alanis Morissette's songs (after they stopped dating).

No the girls mother was Pam. I watch the reruns all the time.

Not on any episodes I've seen. In fact they talk about how lucky they are to have an Uncle Jesse and a Joey. "No one else has a Joey".

I stand by my post:

The mother's name is Pam, not Donna.

Joey is NOT Uncle Joey. DJ, Stephanie, and Michelle all call him Joey. The only time I ever heard anyone refer to him as Uncle Joey is when Jesse was talking about him to his boys - and that was an affectionate "Uncle". This only happened a couple times so it is not enough for me to believe that is his characters name.
