We recently saw American Adventure and I couldn't remember parts of it. We saw it 3 yrs ago, did it change? :confused3

Also, does anyone else feel as though it's missing something? I felt as though we could have done something different to feel 'wowed' by this great nation of ours. I don't know what I'd like better but I thought the presentation was lacking and not up to the other countries in WS.

I hear the same thing about the film in the Canadian Pavilion.
Most Canadians are embarrassed by it!

Each to their own, I guess. I love American Adventure - it's one of my very favorite things at WDW.

Even if I just go to Epcot to see it I love the American Adventure. I am not sure if anything has changed. The last sequence where they show many wonderful Americans they have added a few and did take out the Stature of Liberty and the skyline because it included the Twin Towers. I wish they would have kept that in.

It always brings a tear to my eye.

I must be a sap. I always get a rush of Patriotism from American Adventure. I swear my Heart swells about 10X it's normal size & I get all teary.....

I feel that way, too. However, I was left with a 'is that it' feeling. It looks like it's me.... :confused3

no i think it could be better. i think the whole "land" could be better.not much of the natural beauty , variey of foods ect. it did seem different though from the last time. we don't go everytime just every so often.

We recently saw it, and in fact watched it twice because we had guests and it wasn't on their "to do" list, but we told them it was worth it, and they agreed. The singers before the theater show are very good, and there were different singers and songs on the 2 days that we went.

I think I did notice that the twin towers were behind the Statue of Liberty, but in terms of the recent 9/11 anniversary, I may have places mixed up.

Bobbi :flower:

Wow, I actually think it's a very impressive show - the most impressive one at Epcot. And I'm not one of those "wear my patriotism on my sleeve, love anything American" types either. Behind the stage is a football field of the rotating sets, I love all the Audio-Animatronics, and the periods selected.

AFAIK, it's the same show that premiered when it opened - with the exception of a few additions in the final film montage sequence. But the show itself has remained the same to the best of my knowledge.

N.E.D.

American Adventure is also one of my favorite things at Disney. The singers before hand are just awesome! That's my dream job! :sunny:
The movie also completely chokes me up. The first time DH and I saw it was on my honeymoon at a deserted Epcot 10 days after Sept 11th. It makes me well up just thinking of it.

Actually they did not take out the twin towers. They are still there complete with the statue of liberty.

There were some changes to the show in the early 90's. However they were all very minor such as new animatronics (updated to A-100 figures), minor changes to the script, updated film clips, and a slightly modified Golden Dreams.

As for the show, I think it is by far the best attraction in the World Showcase.

ITA. I hope they never change a thing, except incorporate different scenes in the montage as future historical events dictate. For pure Americana, I actually greatly prefer this show to Hall of Presidents. Having Mark Twain and Ben Franklin narrate the show is a nice touch. I actually find the most amazing thing to be the lasso that Will Rogers twirls around while he does his monologue. Is that a regular slack rope, or is there some kind of device inside it that makes it twirl that way? It's an awesome effect, either way.

It is a regular rope. The animatronic really twirls the lasso.

Call me crazy, but that, to me, is just incredible. Out of all the different things AA's do in the parks, this may be the tops. I couldn't do that with my own hands, and I consider my hand-eye coordination to be pretty good.

I agree. It is incredible.
