I know I'm 48 years old but when it came to her I will always be 3...

I remember my Mom telling me that lots of people get depressed around the holidays. I never understood that, the holidays were alway GREAT because of her.

Now I understand.

I MISS my Mommy. I just do....

I understand completely. My mom died when I was 25 and she was 48. She never even knew my beautiful dd's.{{HUGS}}

Holidays are especially tough without my Dad. He died when DS was only 2

((((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))))))) for you, Robin! Holidays can be so difficult when we miss our loved ones who aren't here any more.

I hear ya Robin, holidays are different without moms, I have been in that slump for 6 yrs now, I miss my mom too.

Holidays are sentimental and we do really miss those who are not with us.

:grouphug:

I understand. I will tell you it does get easier with time, and one learns to rejoice in the memory rather than dwell on the loss.

Love ya, cuz. I'm always here for you if you need a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to.

This is our first Thanksgiving without Granny. I tell you, I'm glad it is over. Everyone just seemed on edge and grumpy.. it just hurt so much not having her here with us.

Me too Robinrs. Nothing is the same without your mom around. Hugs and prayers to you and all of us feeling that empty spot in our hearts...

I totally understand as I lost my Dad 4 years ago now and still miss him, especially around any holiday, celebration, etc.

Well, I am 56 and my "Mommy" has been gone for 11 years, and I can certainly say, "I miss my Mommy" too! Holidays have not been the same since she passed away. We did all right for a couple of years, but when my dad remarried, things fell apart. Holidays are difficult now!

I couldn't understand why DH has so emotional yesterday until he got off the phone with his grandfather down in FL. His grandparents pretty much raised him and he misses his grandparents very much. Said he felt so lonely. :( I couldn't do much but give him a big hug.

Giving you a cyber one and hoping it helps a little.

{{{HUGS}}} Robin. I know it's so hard.

My mom's been gone for 16 Thanksgivings now. I still miss her across the table. I miss her when I'm sick and when I'm well.

Missing our mom's is a tribute to their love and how wonderfully they raised us.

Take care Robin.

I feel your pain, Robin.

I woke up yesterday morning and my first thought was of my Mom and how I wished she could be here with us. She's been gone 10 years now.

And every once in a while, I have a question that only SHE can answer - and it just makes me angry when I know I'll never get an answer. Angry that she's not here. Well, maybe angry isn't the right term...."frustrated" is more like it.

I needed to ask her yesterday what I was doing wrong with the bread that I was making (her recipe)...it never turns out as good as hers.

I miss you, Mommy!!!

Huggerz, Robin - it does get better. But those little frustration moments come and go when you least expect them.

I just realized reading this that this is the first Thanksgiving I wasn't depressed after losing my Mom. I always spent Thanksgiving with my parents and so I always missed her a lot at thanksgiving time (not to mention she was a great pie maker). It has been six years now but I still miss her, it just isn't as depressing. I know how you feel though. I don't you are ever ready to lose your parent.

Miss my dad and with yesterday being the first anniversary of his death - not a real good day
