We took our first trip in August and had a great time but for many reasons we can't go this year so we have to wait until August 2018 to go again and I hate that I have to wait that long. *snif, snif* :worried:

I feel for you! We're on a break right now too - not sure for how long. We keep talking about our next trip but it's definitely way out there in the future! We have been 4 times since 2011 so I guess I really shouldn't complain....but I really want to!

I know what you mean. Maybe you can do a trip report from your last trip in the meantime to help keep Disney fresh in your memory? Or start a pre trip report? Those always help keep me happy in between WDW vacations!

I'm with you!! Went twice in 2016. Usually go April school vacation, but 2017 April vaca coincides with Easter and so we are doing a beach vacation near St Petersburg beach bc we did not want to deal with Easter crowds. Next disney trip will be April 2018 to Disneyland (Yay!! Love it there!). Feels so far away.

I'm going for a conference this april (so i will get my disney fix) my family well - they have to rely on watching youtube videos -- that is a great way to feel some magic -- POV rides, tours of some of the resorts etc. It is painful to have to wait for a trip but the count down can be fun if you keep the disney magic alive. Start researching some of the different resorts you want to stay at --think about a DVC villa rental for the next time, research and watch videos of different restaurants to try. There is so much offered at disney that planning your trip can be just as much fun.

If you haven't already - make a photo book of your last trip. We love looking at our photo book reliving some of the memories.

You're not alone:(
My oldest started college, with my second to soon follow, and we've had to cut back on vacation spending. No plan right now for our next trip, I hope it's not too far in the future!

It is hard to know it is not coming soon, but it does give you more time to save and decide what you want to do.

I know that feeling. We haven't been for four years but are finally going back in a couple of months! Hang in there and dream in the meantime and you'll be so glad when the time comes to go again.

Waiting is the worst. We were planning our next trip for May, but my husband might be starting a new university job that would prevent that, so everything is on hold while I figure out if going over the summer with two young children is something I really want to attempt (Disney is worth it, of course, but I question whether my kids are up to the heat and crowds).

My family and I are truly blessed to have purchased 2 commercial properties in 2016, it was a big year for us! However, that does put the brakes on any travel plans for 2017. Our realtor is a close friend and is celebrating his successful past year with a Disney trip staying at AKL next month. I won't lie, it stings a little lol. Definitely a first world problem! :wizard:

We are from the UK and booked our last trip 18 months in advance to get a good deal, it will honestly go much quicker than you think :)

This was us - 8 years of Disney drought because of college costs. We just went back in January, and it really is like riding a bike! It was fun to see all the new things, and even all the construction didn't bother us, since it represented even more new things to see now that we can start going again. But our trips will not be yearly like when the kids were little, but every two years, as we help the kids pay off some of that student loan debt. So, OP, I will be dreaming of 2018 with you!!

We just went in January and we can't travel anywhere until at least late 2018 or 2019. But kids may want to do Universal next trip, so not sure I will even get my Disney fix then. I think I need to plan a food and wine trip with a girlfriend!!
