I might want to rent

Im thinking of going to DW On Dec 8 through Dec 12. Never rented anyones points before. DoI have to be DVC member? If not, Im trying to find out how much it would be. I know its adventure season, can anyone help?

Hello there:

Anyone, DVC Owner or not can rent points from any willing DVC owner. This is a transaction requiring trust on both sides, but mostly on the renter's side. Read the sticky threads at the top of the DVC Rent/Trade Board for a great primer on this process. You can get quite a deal when compared to Disney Rack Rates!!! Point cost not only varies with DVC season (often different than Disney season), but also with room size:
Studio (4 Adults)
1 Bedroom (4 Adults)
2 Bedroom (8 Adults)
Grand Villa (12 Adults)

and with Location (not in any particular order!):
Boardwalk Villas (BWV)
Beach Club Villas (BCV)
Villas at Wilderness Lodge (VWL)
Saratoga Springs Resort (SSR)
Old Key West (OKW)
Hilton Head
Vero Beach

and sometimes by sub-category
Preferred view
Standard view
Inn - Garden view
Inn - Ocean view
Beach Cottage

So before any of us can really help you, you need to give us all the details!

Also, be advised that the time period you are talking about is a VERY popular time for DVC members to go to WDW, so availability may already be quite limited at some of the resorts. Don't expect to find anything at VWL or BCV, since they are smaller DVC resorts and might be pretty well booked for that time period by now.

I also wanted to add that you might want to move this over to the DVC rent/trade board so you can get responses from DVC members who have points for rent.

Well,I want to go Dec 8 to Dec 11. Ill pretty much stay anywhere. Just came back from a March trip to Boardwalk. Love the area, but might want to try something different

I'm pretty sure you could get something yet, depending on the size unit you are looking for. SSR, and OKW will probably be available, because they are quite large. You will love either, and the buses from those resorts are fantastic. Both are close to DTD for exploration there as well.

You'll do better (financially)to reserve something through Disney - two of your nights are the "expensive" weekend nights (Friday and Saturday). It is almost always more expensive to rent points for a weekend night than it is to just pay cash.
