I conquered my fear of flying, well basically I had no choice with that one. But now I might just try to face my fear of heights in hotel rooms. At the end of October me and my husband may get the chance to take our very first trip to Disney by ourselves. But if not by ourselves, then my adult daughter might come. My youngest daughter wants to go to the National FFA convention in Illinois (I think that is where it is) with her school from October 28-31, 2020. So I went and booked a package (at rack rate!!) for October 27-31st at the Grand Destino Tower in a Standard view CL room, which is of course like on the 15th floor!!
Right now I just have me and hubby on the reservation but if by chance my adult daughter wants to come I will add her later. I have us 3-days worth of park hopper tickets on the package.
These CL rooms are eligible for the FP purchases, right? If not, then I will cancel it. The reason I wanted to double check was with just us two on the reservation, rack rate was like right at $460, which includes the taxes. As I went and looked at several other CL rooms for that time period, the lowest rack rates was around $600-$700 plus a night. And when Disney does release discounts for that time period, I know the most that will probably be handed out will be around 20-25% for the other resorts CL rooms. I don't have a AP or such to get the deeper discounts. So I was thinking that even if I pay rack rate for the Standard view CL room at GDTs, it will still be cheaper than a discounted CL room at the BW, Beach or Yacht Club, right?
Anyway, this trip may or may not happen and I may or may not conquer my fear of staying past the 5th-6th floor of a hotel, but we will see, lol.
