I LOVE the Disney Dining Plan!!

Pretty doggone easy - each receipt from each meal will have printed on it how many credits you have left.

ok plans change..dose any one know what is the diffrence between wdw and dl dinning plan..and restrants and special dinner shoes there??

We love it too! This will be our second time using it. The planning can be a little extreme - but it keeps me busy until its time to go:lmao:
I may be really dating myself, but the only thing better was the original Food N' Fun plan in the early and mid 90's. I think our family was the reason they got rid of that plan! :rotfl2:

I love the planning.

Once I got over the idea of making ADRs 180 days out it became a funny joke. 'So where will we want to eat 6 mos from Tuesday ... hmmm Ohana sounds good' :lmao:

I love pouring over the menus and seeing what looks good.
I love coming here and asking for opinions about restaurants - the good, the bad and the ugly
I love when the day comes for us to go to Flying Fish and actually being there, eating what I've been planning to eat for 6 mos.
I love the thrill of getting the ADRs we want when we want them
I love planning when to pay OOP so we have 2TS for FF
I love not looking at the price of what I really want and just getting it.

I love that we're getting free dining this trip and my parents are doing DDP for the first time.

well, what can I say:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:   We just got back yesterday from a 9nite pkg+1 room only nite. Our party consisted of 4 adults, 3-16 yr old girls and a 9yr boy. Our meals were as follows: Donald's Breakfastaurous; Tony's-lunch; crt-dinner; espn club-dinner; le cellier-dinner;sci fi-dinner; whispering canyon cafe-breakfast;kona cafe-dinner; and spoodles. Drum roll please.......we saved over $1500.00 :grouphug: :grouphug: and that is with using an average snack credit at $3. Forgot to right down those cost on the receipts. But my TS and CS receipts each had the totals written on them. What an awesome deal. Of course, it was way to much food, even with sharing some meals, but it was nice trying new foods.

I've been to the world 4 times in the last 6 years. I travel with my two best friends (25 & 24.) Everytrip we spend the majority of our spending money on Food. We booked a trip for eairly August and paid for the DDP.
:dance3: :cheer2: :dance3: :cheer2: :dance3: :cheer2: :dance3:
WE ARE SO EXCITED! Never once have we eaten at a table service restaruant. We walked into the Coral Reef once and looked at the prices on the menu and had to leave. We are very tight-fisted about money (this is how we afford to go to the world almost every year.) I can't wait to come back and try out this plan. I have no problem with paying around 40 dollars a day for food. We spent so much over that on just Counter Service. And Guess what.... WE get to eat at the Coral Reef this time!!!! :cool1:

I love the thrill of getting the ADRs we want when we want them Like winning a prize isn't it!!

I love not looking at the price of what I really want and just getting it. Yes, because usually I am too cheap!

:

You took the words out of my mouth!
I totally agree with this! Except change the Flying Fish part to the Hoop Dee Doo review!!!

We have an adult DD with an anxiety disorder, and oddly enough, she does like going to Disney, as long as we give her a couple of down days. She is leary of trying new restaurants and we have not done many TS meals at WDW. Well, free dining combined with the food porn posts here on the DIS has made it possible for DD to become comfortable enough to agree to a trip in September.
We have poured over the menus and pictures together, she has made many choices already, and is happy that she knows what we will be doing each day. She doesn't have to worry about the cost and neither do we.
So DISboards and the DDP have made it possible for her, and us, to look forward to a very enjoyable trip all around.
To top it all off, we were going to stay in ASMu and got a surprise upgrade to a 1 bedroom at OKW!
Thank you Disney for making this all possible!

That is really, really cool:) Having dealt with anxiety throughout my life, I can see how this would really help her!

Have a wonderful trip:goodvibes

The DDP is how I got my DH to agree to a return trip!:cool1:

so.... Obviously.... I LOVE IT!

DD also loves it and hopes it still exists when she gets to go back in 2009 for her 16th birthday!

The reasons are simple...

PREPAID. I love showing up and being able to spend the $$ I brought on t-shirts or whatever.

VARIETY. We can have chinese, french, seafood, steak... anything we want!

NO BURGERS. Everytime i have ever been to WDW, we eat CS (cheap) all day and end up feeling crappy. Now i can choose a salad, chicken sandwiches, etc without a worry as to cost.

I feel the DDP is liberating. Sure, you have to plan, but no one should go to a place like WDW with out some kind of gameplan... Right?

   the DDP!!

Sounds like you are having a great time planning together. I am happy for you and your DD!

Just got back from 7 days on the DDP - 2 adults, 2 children.
Loved the plan for the following
1. Saved $350+
2. Got plenty of food and brought snacks for the trip home
3. Never worried about penny pinching
4. Only had burgers and pizza a couple of times each when we wanted it
5. Ate places I never had before
6. Ended paying OOP for less than $100 worth of food when we ran out of TS.

That's been my experience as well! (Although I calculated saving around $500) for us as it was 3 adults and one child)!

I really do enjoy not having to worry about what I'm spending when vacationing, and REALLY enjoy eating at all those places I would normally not! :goodvibes
