I am SO excited about my new Cameo and am kicking myself for not making the switch sooner!!

Here is my first layout that I made for a swap group that I am a member of:

Awesome! Keep the pictures and reviews coming. My E is on its last legs :(

THANKS, I am really impressed with it thus far and I am still learning. I do think that I like the Disney character cuts that I have seen on the Cricut better than the Cameo, but I don't fully know as I haven't tried it myself.

I can certainly see having both systems. But now I don't really see buying too many cartridges from Cricut, which is exciting for my pocket book! :rotfl2:

will you try some of the files on my blog & see how they work for you??
take your pick on which ones - I just like to see someone else use them sometimes & wondering how the cameo does with them since I'm thinking that is what I'm going to switch to when my cricut dies

I definitely will!!!

so can i ask a question?....

the cameo cuts scal files? but not cricut stuff?

Please show us more if you can, especially some of Reddy's files. My E is on its last leg as well and I have seriously considered getting this machine. Have you done any delicate cuts yet? Anything you can show us would be greatly appreciated. Love that first layout, so cute!

So cute! If my E is in fact dying, I will seriously be considering this machine...

Definitely check it out. I won't be getting rid of my E because I have like 200 cartridges and just too much invested in it, but my Cameo will be the main used machine.

Love it! Glad to hear the cameo is a good choice of cutter.

IT IS!! I wish I made the leap earlier.

Yep, the Cameo essentially is a machine that is cutter and computer based where the Cricut is cutter and cartridge. The layout I posted above was done with JPEG files that I got off the internet.

I have to get more done. That was my first layout done and I had to make 25 of them for a swap. Now I am SO excited to get organized so I can spend more time scrapping with my Cameo. I haven't done anything too delicate yet, I was just checking out the files that you can buy from Silhouette, there are some good ones.

I love that title! It is a jpeg...so could I use it with my SCAL and E?

Very cute lo, and I love the use of that paper...I think we all have that paper and I find myself at a loss on how to use it. Great idea!

My dh bought be a pazzles and I tried to with Reddy's cuts and all I did was tear paper. I was an unhappy camper. Friday a Cameo showed up on the door step for me. I like the cameo much better.

It is a tough paper, I bought a bunch and now I need to get more, everyone wants extra copies of it.

What a great lay-out! I love the balloons!

THANKS, me too, I know I will be using the balloons for other things.

very cute

Only SCAL cuts .scal files. but SCAL can also cut imported .svg files.

The cameo's native files are .studio files, but can also cut .svg files using either SCAL, MTC or Silhouette Studio Designer Edition.

That is the simple way of thinking about electronic cutters.

It seems that svg files have become the "standard" of electronic cutters, but of course each program/cutter wants their own proprietary file structure so they make money.... just saying...;)

Any other questions, please ask... I too love my cameo.

You sound like you know a LOT more than I do. I had JPEG of these files and cut them in my MTC program.

That's a great layout! I'll have to consider a Cameo for the future!
