I really want to apply for the 70K bonus on the Arrival+ but don't want to mess up my chances of getting it by pulling the trigger too soon. I got the AA Biz on 10/26 (my first and only Barclays card) and I am 4/24. Should I wait until it's been 60 days? I'll also be down to 3/24 if I wait, I have a card dropping off on 12/21. I hate that there's no expiration date on the 70K offer!

have u tried the cashmatch route? including all the tricks that u can attempted?
Find out when the expiration date is on that Lux. Id keep trying to pull the amex plat until the last minute before the Lux expires... 125k is SPG lux's highest offer to date. I think its worth it, others may not though lol.
I did do card match but only the blue amex showed up. not sure what tricks are out there to find one.
eta dec 6 is when this offer expires. just did card match again and its only showing the amex blue

Can someone please tell me what happens with the purchase insurance (this is for a laptop) if we purchase it with a Biz Plat and then downgrade the card in a year to a free business card? Do we then lose the benefits? Trying to figure out what card to put the spend on, but the plat still has an MSR to meet.

As a preliminary matter, there is no AF-free downgrade option for the Biz Plat. You can product change it to a Biz Gold or Biz Green, both of which are charge cards and have AFs ($295 and $95, respectively). You can’t downgrade a Biz Plat (charge card) to the BBP (credit card).

I believe if you make the purchase on the Biz Plat, then PC the Biz Plat, you’ll retain the extended warranty protection; but you’ll lose the benefit if you cancel the card.

Sort of off topic question but not really...

Trying to find a flight from US to NZ that is on Air NZ and can be purchased with UA points. I assume I am not missing anything, is there a trick that anyone knows of? We have done this many times in the past but I believe that they have changed things a bit. I just want to make sure I am not missing anything before I go ahead and book United for it, which I was actually sort of fine with until I read the seat guru reviews!! I think we used to fly United for that trip ages ago, but we usually fly Air NZ. If I recall correctly, I think last year I booked us on UA but they cancelled/changed it and they put us on Air NZ, so I guess I could hope for that again??!!

(extra info: we are actually going to NZ and Aust and Fiji and the order doesn't really matter, so really any combination of flights will work, but no matter how I try I can't get that NZ-US leg covered on Air NZ using UA points. Currently I have us on UA: SFO to AKL, then AA/Qantas/Fiji Air: AKL to Australia, Australia to Fiji and Fiji to US. We're going for about 5 weeks Oct-Nov so we are pretty flexible with dates/times. To keep it credit card related, I plan to spend very little, if any, OOP for flights/accommodation/rental car and will be using UA/AA miles, UR, IHG and Marriott points.)

Thank you for any suggestions or even a direction to somewhere better to look for advice!

Forgot about Target today, have been busy. So in height of laziness I just ordered from my phone while in bed. Can’t get any easier than that. DH out of town so nothing better to do in bed. Lol I actually have seriously downgraded my target shopping in last year but I know it will get used. I did mobile delivery. Hoping it’s easy to use and just means I can’t lose a physical card.

Thanks so much for your quick response. Might have to just put it on a keeper card, although we've never used the protection from a card so it might be a waste. But the info helps in figuring it out. I have a couple more days to decide.

Weren't you going to be getting Apple Care? Doesn't that cover problems, so that it doesn't matter what card you use to pay for it?

I've even bought used Apple products that came with Apple Care from the original owner, and I still got coverage for the product for the remainder of the Apple Care protection period.

I just realized something strange...I am without an MSR right now...and I'm not upset about it. Many of you will probably recall my not-so-humble-brags about not being without an MSR since early 2015. Well that streak appears to be over.

The no URs for Disney hotels issue really through a major wrench in my plans. Instead of redeeming URs for a trip, it suddenly prompted me to need to source $4,500 in Disney GCs. That amount of spend just wasn't in the plan (and as you all know...I always am working the plan, lol).

I'm 3 months away from being <5/24. (Just to pause on that for a moment...As of Oct 2017, I had gotten 34 cards in the previous 24 months in my name...and I somehow have not gotten a card in my name since...13 months sober...LOL!) The plan obviously calls for me to snag a shiny CIP card as soon as I can.

We took that AMEX BCP upgrade offer for my wife and then crushed that MSR with reg. expenses and a slew of Disney GCs. I grabbed a CIU for her 2 weeks ago and then obliterated that MSR with Disney GCs. Of course the AMEX PopUp is a snag as a $5k MSR on a Schwab Plat would be just the medicine that the Dr. prescribed.

At any rate...here I sit, with no MSR...at least for a month, and potentially for 3 months. I'm going to keep earning that sweet 6% cashback on the BCP card. The majority of our expenses right now will either directly be Grocery, at a store I can buy a GC for at the Grocery store, or in some rare cases I'll buy a VGC at the Grocery store and use that. Other random little stuff is going on my wife's Hilton, Delta Biz and BBP cards to try to scare away the PopUp RAT. I can't say I'm super excited about only getting 6% back BUT my wife has gotten 4 Chase cards in the past 8 months and I think the prudent decision is to be calm and patient for 3 months. Slow churning is the life guys...I'm trying to embrace it as best I can :)

edit: sorry, had to do it... :P
Requires what MSR? $5 mil? BRB quitting job to MS full time this year...

Ok - so this is WAY OFF TOPIC but I just have to share this with you guys... I assume some of you here are fans of EasyWDW and Josh (I think he's amazing personally).

I know that we have a number of Disney Touring gurus here in our midst...With people like this still on the prowl, I don't think we have to worry about everybody figuring out our secrets HAHA!

Wait, arriving at park opening isn't the best rope drop plan? :rotfl:

The holidays with no MSR sounds rough tbh but I’m glad you’re trying to find contentment in it :)

You never know on the Amex pop-up, there were reports on DoC of the pop up disappearing for some who put no spend on Amex cards so all hope might not be lost there!
