There were no changes to my orders, just the price changes. It happened twice in a row so I was just starting to wonder if there was some sort of discount that I didn't know about. Very random indeed, but I won't complain!

One of those days—got a flat tire on the way home from ds’s basketball game. Luckily I noticed it immediately and got to a tire place and it was patched in an hour. Then I entered warehouse club he**. Didn’t pay attention to needing to activate Sam’s club gift cards. I had googled it but couldn’t see where to do it online. I now see it in the emails but my cards may be frozen. And I waited about 20 minutes at customer service to be told they can’t do anything (not their fault). Then I went to Costco and after waiting in a long line to check out I realized I was charged incorrectly so now I’m in the world’s longest return line. I think I need to stop going to stores until after Christmas.

Good luck with the Sam's gcs. Hopefully, it can be resolved quickly. It took me 5 calls and probably 2 or 3 hours to it fixed. Hope you have better luck!!!

Successful day in the churning dept...

1) Met the MSR on our CIU card via Disney GCs from Giant Eagle (grocery store) PLUS got 12% value back in gas for those purchases so that'll help offset our trip cost by $360.
2) Finally got around to hitting the 20% off with 1 MR point on Amazon. Purchased $100 in Kohls and $50 in Papa Johns. I reviewed every gift card Amazon sold yesterday and those are the only 2 that I have a legit use for on the horizon. (As you may recall we are in the FIRE camp so we don't exactly spend a lot of money at restaurants and stores). Of course I purchased an Amazon GC first at Giant Eagle so I stacked the 12% with the 20% on that $150.
3) Put a few random small charges on my wife's AMEX Delta and BBP card...still trying to lift that nasty RAT popup.

All in all a good day!

With all this talk about Christmas wish lists (awesome suggestions @calypso726, and love the visual aids!), I'll admit I'm pretty hard to shop for. When family and friends ask what I'd like for Christmas (or birthdays), I hesitate to tell them without also telling them how they need to try to get the best deal: check camelcamelcamel and search Slickdeals for past deals to get an idea if there's ever been a better price on an item, set up for alerts for price changes, wait for a sale if possible, buy and then use discounted gift cards if they can, check for promo codes or sign up for a newsletter to get a % off coupon, check cashbackmonitor and go through a shopping portal! I hate the idea of family or friends spending more money on a gift for me than they needed to.

Yes! I always tell DH "I'd like _____. Make sure to shop around...oh wait, never mind. I will order it myself and you can wrap it."

Completely agree. @Haley R i know the ebags brand is a little more expensive but they are worth the cost more. I have found that out the hard way. Other brands do not last as well.

Wow that’s awesome! I’m all about recycling and being green so I’m pretty sure I will invest in cloth diapers when the time comes. Seems like a waste to constantly throw out something that can’t be recycled. It’ll be expensive, fill up our trash can quickly, and fill all of the landfills.

I did cloth for a few years. My MIL was never into it so she bought her own disposables for the days she watched him. Then daycare said they wouldn't use them anymore so I only had him in them overnight and on weekends. I stopped completely when he outgrew his one size pockets I used overnight. I still have them all because I'm not sure what to do with them now! I have to say that I still have the sprayer on his toilet and it is great when he has a poop accident now. Wish I had some cloth type pull-ups to use at night. Stuck buying some at Target whenever they have a gift card deal now.

so I have never bought mine used. I did sell a lot of mine and have about half my stash left. I know you can buy like new and really save. I didn't know about buying them used till after I had a large stash of 100+

have u tried the cashmatch route? including all the tricks that u can attempted?
Find out when the expiration date is on that Lux. Id keep trying to pull the amex plat until the last minute before the Lux expires... 125k is SPG lux's highest offer to date. I think its worth it, others may not though lol.

anyone abusing Target 10% off gift cards?

$300 online then DH and I ran over there and each got $300. I’m not patient enough to sell so will just be organic spend at Target. Even DH was impressed with the deal though. The concrete example of “$300 gift card please” and then ringing up $270 made it clear. I had him use one of his Amex cards since I guess I will at least make a token effort and try to not get the pop up. I’m not really optimistic though.

Approved for the Plat. I did the 60k and 20k referral offer. Couldn’t get the 75k to show. This is my nineth Amex card since Feb. I’m slowing down now and will probably just MS on the cards. Hoping to at least do 25k on the Gold next year.

I would like to get SO two Amex cards so I can max my 20k Gold referrals but that may not happen by the end of this year because he had the pop up. I’ll try again for the Hilton biz in a few weeks for him.
