Thank you! He flies out of DFW. I think that is a hub for AA. I'm guessing they'd be flying coach mostly but I'll have to ask him about that. Their kids are spread really far apart in age so one is a junior in college and the other in middle school which means many times they are traveling as a fam of 3.

I’d say to have him go for the AA cards in that case with both players. Personally, I like having a back up so I’d still go after Amex MR cards as well.

A few SW CP questions, please. DH just got approved for the Biz and he will apply for a personal card in Dec some time. DD and I will be flying SW in Dec. Can I apply for him in-flight to get the 50,000 bonus points since I submit all his applications on the ground :) Assuming DH earns us a CP for most if 2019/ 2020, I want to plan on me getting us one for 2021/2022. I know I can not have earned the sign on bonus in the past 24 months. I opened 2 SW personal cards in June 2017 and closed one in June 2018. Can I keep that one SW card I still have and close it say 6 months before re-applying or does it have to be closed a certain amount of time before opening another?

I would do C or D and stay at Sapphire Falls! I believe they even have a shuttle to Seaworld if you didn't want to drive. I stayed recently and it is a fabulous hotel. I really enjoyed the pool, the boat to Uni, and Strongwater Tavern which has amazing food and drinks! The price for Sapphire Falls is great for what you get compared to Cabana Bay which is more a value hotel. If you are getting AP's, you can look for an AP rate for Sapphire Falls and reserve it without having the pass yet.
How do you look for the ap rates? I couldn't find a place to put it in the search engine.

I'm planning on having DH apply for the CIP tomorrow. I just looked at his CL on his Chase cards and unbeknownst to me, they increased his Hyatt and Marriott CL to 38K and 35K. I'm still going to do the app tomorrow, if he gets denied I'll lower his limits and reapply next month.

You can definitely do his application in flight...
and you can keep the one SW card open and close it prior to reapplying...right now people are saying to wait at least 30 days after closing to reapply for same card

Well finally made my universal reservations. Went with hard rock since they have the room with two queens and a sofa pull out. Made two reservations with ur travel. On the website it showed only one rate. When I called they were able to give me the stay more rate. Although I should have booked a couple months ago since the price is higher.

ooohhh, that room would work for us. I will need to look into it. I don't remember seeing any with a sleeper sofa when I checked.

You people have been busy today. We just finished our Timberline Steakhouse dinner for Priority pass in Denver. May have ate too much...

I just wanted to update on the Southwest Kiosk in airport. The one in Denver is for the $69 card only, 50,000 points still. I stopped to ask questions about the $149 card we just signed up for and he had no idea how to answer any of my questions.

Thanks for posting this....I’ll have to keep an eye on credit limits

Hope you enjoyed your time here! I'm glad the weather wasn't near as bad as originally forecasted.

I must have missed the original post. Did the kiosk have applications to take or do they have you apply right there?

I was feeling all proud of myself, finally using ebooks from the library. And I had the thought the other day, not only can I read new books but I can read all of my old favorites! Most of my books are packed because we dont have room for them to be out right now. So I read the first in a trilogy, just finished... and the next one is checked out. :headache: I'm even more tempted to just buy it knowing I have 5% back on amazon lol

Reading r/churning, found a flowchart, and it suggests Chase Marriott cards as the first choice for those under 5/24, then CIP, CSR or CSP, and so on.
Do you guys agree with getting Marriott first, assuming I don't have any AMEX cards yet? Can you tell I'm confused?

Read the notes on that chart on that comment...it’s all about the 24 month waiting period for SPG cards thereafter.

That’s really a personal decision for somebody - can’t really advise on that. It’s not necessarily a terrible plan BUT most people here are looking to generate points that can help them in the very near future. Marriott isn’t necessarily the right answer for somebody looking for flights to Europe Or an on-site trip to Universal Studios Orlando.

So I am trying to help some friends that want to join us at Disney in March. They live in Alaska and flights are really high.

They have great credit and no issues meeting minimum spend (high Cost of living in Alaska) so I was trying to figure some travel hacking for them with CC bonuses. After looking at miles needed to fly from ANC to MCO (holy crud, you could fly business class to Europe) I decided the easiest thing would be for both of them to get the Barclay Arrival + to help offset their airfare.

Luckily he is a disabled vet so he qualifies for Military Salute tickets and we already have a 5 bedroom pool home rented so they have no lodging costs, but airfare from Alaska for five is quite a chunk of money!
