@mmmears It looks bookable to me. I'll try and post a screenshot.

ETA: added screenshot

Thank you so much for checking for me. I really appreciate it!

I have enough points, and I was able to get to the booking screen. I didn't actually book LOL, but I got as far as I could without actually booking it. No issues, 50 points for the King or double queen.

Thank you! It's very helpful to know that it's available before we move any points!

I'm about 40 pages behind on posts because we are at WDW now, but had to pop in with a question for those with precheck experience. We are flying home tomorrow and I noticed precheck did not show up on my boarding pass. I'm flying as DH's companion on SW. This has only happened to me once before, last October. That time I called in and the rep was able to add my KTN to the flight. We flew in December, February, March, and just last month with no issues.

I just called to have them fix this, figuring it was a fluke. After being on the call for over an hour, the rep said there's nothing they can do because somewhere in the "bottom of the reservation history" its showing by name with an "H" as a middle initial. That is completely incorrect, as that's not my middle initial. All our other flights have shown my name with just first and last. She insisted this reservation is under just my first and last name as well, but my name with the H middle initial is listed in the reservation (and I had to have entered that) so she can't link my KTN. Thoughts?? Suggestions on what I can do, if anything? I'm thoroughly confused as to how this can even happen since I don't manually enter my info when I add my companion ticket.

We have GE not precheck but my understanding is that it's not a guarantee in any case. It's happened to us on occasion, when the boarding pass doesn't show it, and we just go through the regular (awfully long at times) line. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Idk about the name issue but one time I didn’t have precheck on my boarding pass so I went to the Southwest desk when I got to the airport and had them add it and reprint my boarding pass.

Anyone catch this DP on Reddit? https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/9mdwok/daily_discussion_thread_october_08_2018/e7f1g8e/ (Glimpses at r/churning today yet not enough time to catch up here yet- don't hate me too much!)

User says they are getting CASH (well, a check) back on Disney 2019 re-book for the new offers, in essence cashing out those URs at 1.5x! Ladies and gentleman if this pans out those with UR booked packages could have some VERY interesting math ahead. Cash out the URs at 1.5x, rebook with Disney and then pay Disney with Disney gift cards bought with your 1.5x cash at a discount?....

I second @Happy814 on everything. Word of mouth is still how many people get into jobs, advertised or not. And if they typically choose a replacement before they post it, then you definitely want to get into their head ASAP. That's how my Dad got his last job, they guy was leaving, knew my dad was good, told him about the job and somehow got Dad connected with his boss. Boss agreed he was good and hired him to fill his friend's spot. I'm not even sure the job ever got truly posted. They worked in the same job within the same industry, just at different companies, so the boss knew he could hit the ground running.

If it's something you would drop everything for anyway, then go at it with all the passion you feel for it. I wouldn't mention the remote working yet, just what you can bring to that role (at least what you perceive that role to be) and how your current connection to the org can make you uniquely qualified due to your experience (yadda yadda yadda, you know the drill). If it's an awesome job it might be worth considering relocation at least temporarily and then work on them to become a remote worker.

I'm going to work on it tomorrow and email it off. But I will add in the remote part simply because I'm not willing to move to the Chicago area, it's not a little move from Seattle or somewhere I'm interested in living. I'm where I want to be and as much as I like the org and want the job, it's not worth moving. Through my volunteer work, I know people there know of me, just not sure the interim director does so I think it's important to be honest about expectations from the start.

Do you know which credit bureau Chase pulls for you? Check Credit Karma for EQ/TU, and the Experian app for EX.

If Chase's pulls appear only on EX, you'll notice all your accounts are back-dated to the first of the month. You are safe to apply, because Chase will see you as under 5/24.

This will only work if EX is the only bureau Chase pulls for you. If they pull EX and one or both of the others, you'll be denied.

Thank you! Looks like they pull Equifax, so I guess I need to wait.

We actually talked about this here on our thread a few days ago. For once we are ahead of the curve on this one :)

Unfortunately it’s a super limited group (those that already trips booked and transferred to Chase) who can take advantage.

I would call again and have them correct the middle initial (which they should be able to do since I had to have DH’s corrected because the agent put it in wrong) and then the agent should be able to delete the KTN and re-add it to the reservation. I have had to call a couple of times when pre-check didn’t show up and SW was able to correct each time.

FYI - here’s our very own @MrsAlexis breaking this news right here :)

@SouthFayetteFan @disneymagicgirl @gottalovepluto I appreciate everyone's input on this, this is exactly what I needed for my brain to wrap around everything. I emailed the agent at Connexions and asked what would happen if discounts were announced subsequent to my UR payment. She said they can take advantage of the discount but any refund would be cash (not URs). So that leads me to believe that Connexions will hold my reservation as my TA still, but will no longer be tied to Chase to use points. Her request that I use my UR points now is so they can be applied before Chase/Connexions formally split (I am assuming). I can't give up 1.5X UR on the bulk of my purchase, so I plan to pay $1750 using 1.5X UR, and whatever balance is left in April, I'll payoff using discounted gift cards.

Sounds like if you cancelled you'd get your money back in cash. Did you just uncover a secret way to cash out URs at 1.50x??? LOL! Of course nobody can actually take advantage of it because you'd have to already have a pending Disney Vacation booked through Connexions.

yes, Citibank Thank you Points. The Prestige is no longer able to sign up for, theres been a rumor that premier is going down to 0 sign up bonus... seems like its following the Prestige...

Ok this is interesting. Maybe Citi is going to come back with an awesome card/new earning categories.
I was planning on grabbing this card but not right yet. I think I'm going to ride the lightning and just see what Citi does next.

Interesting comment on that article about the AAdvantage card bonus going away too.

Anyone here who books Hilton rooms on points who can send me in the right direction?

I was looking to book an airport Hilton for one night. AMEX has a good MR > Hilton points deal at the moment, but I want to think about whether or not it's a good deal. Hilton online won't show the number of HH points needed to book it, so DH called Hilton and asked. They said that since he didn't have any HH points in his account he can't see the info... and they can't see it either. Is this for real? We hate calling, but did so and got nowhere. We have to transfer points in to see how many points we would need? We can't seem to find the info online either (no issues with Marriott or Hyatt).

Anyone have any advice on how I can get this info?

I am several hours behind in this thread, but if you haven’t been helped yet, pm me and I will check the point for you.

ETA: nvm I see you’ve been helped

theres rumors of Citi wanting to back out of the premium card game and focusing on $0 AF cards and/or $100 AF cards.
my guess is that with costco probably earning them a huge profit, they probably dont care to compete. haha.

Idk on the Costco profits, rumor is they drove a brutally hard bargain when they split from Amex...

Have you tried reaching out via DM on Twitter? Sometimes you can reach out to the airline or tsa on Twitter to get this fixed. Since it’s a name problem my guess is the airline will have to fix it. I’ve gotten consistently better airline service via Twitter DM than any other method for a while now.
