CF 5x with Chase Pay Q4; 10x with Chase Pay on $400 Oct 1-31

CSR/CSP: 1000 UR on $50+ using Chase Pay Oct 1-31

CSR/CSP; 1500 UR after 5 purchases of $25+ anywhere with Chase Pay (so incl ShopRite) Oct 1-31

I'm going to try this today! Thank you so much!

Since I was in the northern part of my state earlier today I was able to go by ShopRite.

They had no Disney gift cards and it seemed that all the Visa gift cards were also gone. I had intended to buy Disney cards but when I didn't find any and noted that there were multiple spots completely bare, I realized most of the spots belonged to Vanilla gift cards.

I may get back up this was in a couple of weeks and I'll try again, perhaps at a different store.

That's understandable but what will you do if there's a mechanical issue with the plane and your flight is cancelled and you can't get to LA for 3 days with frontier from your airport which would make you miss your flight to Japan? Then you'd have last minute flights out of the your airport or the farther airport. There's a lot more money on the other end of your trip than using UR's to book southwest or a rental etc.

I'm sure things will work out but I wouldn't chance it and would spend the extra money to make sure I had options to get to LA if something were to happen. At least out of a bigger airport with Southwest they may have another flight or at least can get you there via a connecting flight more likely than a smaller airline.

What other airlines fly out of your airport, or what airport is it? There may be better options than Frontier simply because they have more flight options even if you do have to connect in Denver, SLC or PHX.
I’m thinking we might fly with another air
My brother, his wife and son do HHN multiple times and I can guarantee you there is no way I would be going! I saw a show once where they were hiring for some of attractions and it was things I would rather not see- people caged in with snakes and mice, no thanks! This is where I would take Disney and Not So Scary instead :)
I watched Tim Tracker going through the houses at HHN and I was scared FOR him lol

Anyone familiar with DCL/Costco bookings? Someone on the cruise forums said I can pay with GCs if I book through Costco, but I am not seeing a way.
I am considering Costco for that 2020 Hawaii. No clue if we can swing it, but may as well book tomorrow in case. Costco is 8% back in a cash card plus 2% for executive membership. If I can save using GCs too, that is a decent deal.
I used gift cards and am pretty sure i just had to call and have them applied. I booked with Costco on the last Silver CC/DVC booking date and it was crazy, but likely worth t for the savings. I waited an hour+ to talk to someone at Costco and then waited 2.5 hours for that agent to reach Disney. I suggest you take the option for them to call you once they reach Disney if they offer! Good luck!

In the beginning of August I did the Southwest shopping promo. I thought I did something wrong because I never got any bonus points. I finally got the email that they posted, 2 months later. Had no idea it would take so long.
Thanks for sharing this. I sometimes advise people to use this to keep SW points active. I haven’t personally used the portal for years though so I’ll make sure to tell people to do this well in advance (6 months, lol) if they are doing it.

I did get the initial points earlier. I shopped on August 1st. The initial points posted August 7th. The 2000 bonus points for spending so much $$ is what just posted October 2.

After I typed that I thought fat chance I would actually follow through. lol I truly HATE haunted houses and being scared. How is peeing your pants from fright fun?? lol

his is on my bucket list. I have not had a kitchen sink, but I am game to try.
Says the person going to Antarctica.
You are welcome to join us last week in March. Lol

Yes as others have said, you can call and apply Disney GCs. Our Alaska cruise is with Costco. I booked like a peasant on Disney website then called Costco and transferred to them. I clarified with the Costco rep that I could pay with Disney GC, Visa or Mastercard (I think Discover is an option on their regular website but not travel)

Forgot about that option now with online booking for CC members! Much more reasonable without the wait on the phone.

I guess if I ever get fancier and do lie flat seats or shower on a plane I will need to upgrade my Target bag. lol Right now it totally fits in on my Southwest flights. One day I may grow up! I think I may need to wait for the kids to fly out of the nest so we have extra money then we can upgrade from beer to champagne travel.

While I can do coasters of any kind, one thing I can not do is haunted houses! Halloween Horror nights does not tempt me at all! But let me know how it is in case I decide to grow up in this regard also.

Oddly enough, the bag I had that lasted the longest was a Disney bag that came in a set of 3 pieces of luggage and might have cost $100 for the whole set. The carry on lasted for years while my checked bags were demolished one after another. I think it was when that carry on bag died that I decided to invest in a bag that was meant to last. After all, this travel hacking hobby got me traveling way more than I used to.

HHN is not something I go for regularly. I am more of a MNNSHP girl. The last time was because my oldest nephew wanted to go. This time my oldest niece wants to go. Being the dutiful aunt, I oblige. DH doesn't do scary movies nor will he go to HHN. Instead, DH will spend the night hanging out with friends we've met on Disney vacations, including the husband of the friend who will be going to HHN with me. I will spend the night clinging to my dear friend, with my face buried in his arm, shielding my eyes and shrieking like a banshee with my niece and her BFF in tow. Sigh ...

I haven't gone to one since high school because the guy came at us with a chainless chainsaw that you could smell the gas off. My friend was dragging me back into the house while I was trying to pull her past him and out. I used to like them but that one took it a step too far for me and now I don't trust them.

Used to like scary movies too but after having to drive home in the dark alone after seeing one with friends at the theater at seeing shadows along the freeway on ramp I was pretty much done there too. I think the last one I saw was The Ring or something around that time.

I used to love scary movies too but I get terrible nightmares now and usually can’t fall asleep after watching one. I just lay in bed staring at the ceiling because I always think someone is standing in my room. I think the one that ruined it for me was prisoners with Hugh jackman

Hmm - and were you ever an AU on that CSP? Lol. I ask because I've gotten a card for me or my wife as an AU when upgrading or downgrading before...because I didn't remember adding myself or my wife an AU many years ago.

If the original card is over 2 years old, there is no 5/24 worry here. It's purely about the AU Fee then.
I went back and looked at his account. It was opened 5/2017 and I am an AU (found it my my credit report, ugh) but that means it drops off 5/19. Even without that card, I won’t be under 5/24 until after 7/19. Funny thing is, I don’t recall being an AU on that card and don’t even have the physical card (I generally keep them after canceling)
Anyway, if they’re going to give it to me free, I may keep it. If I get charged, I’ll cancel and see about removing it from my report.

The best place to start is DoC's monthly best bonus list! https://www.doctorofcredit.com/best-bank-account-bonuses/ (Well, it's the 2nd best place to start after reading our DISchurners Bank Bonus 101 post ;) ) Imho Chase $300 checking bonus is the best way to dip your toes in. If you have the cash to float grabbing the savings bonus from Chase is quite easy as well. Discover also has an easy savings bonus to grab. I'd keep an eye on the Cap1 $500 Money Market offer, people were able to cumulatively get the bonus by putting 50k in bits at a time (25k in, 25k out, 25k in totally 50k, etc...) but they haven't posted the latest bonus in a bit (they batch process) so I'd watch for DPs of the bonus coming through recently FIRST if you'll need to do it in bits and pieces before jumping- but $500 is the best offer seen there- I was thrilled with my $250 back in the day on that one, ouch!
So coming back to this. I sent the screen shot to Dh and he just today told me, “oh I couldn’t read it because your ringer volume was covering the whole thing.” Apparently I was adjusting the volume when I took the picture lol

I think The Ring is the last scary movie I saw in a theater too hahaha

It was a good movie. We watched Ringu after, the Japanese movie it was based on. Not as good, subtitles on a scary movie just don't work.
I think we saw it on Halloween late at night and then went to a shady Walmart afterwards at like 1am. I was pretty jumpy haha.
