I love credit cards so much!

Just used 100,000 Hilton points to book two nights in Barcelona before my cruise next August (just 350 days from now, ha)! I still need to book a hotel for the day after the cruise too. Not sure where I want to stay on that end.

With that booking and my upcoming airport stay before Disney next month, I'm out of Hilton points. I've been burning them like crazy this year. So I'm at a cross roads - get another Hilton card and keep riding that or jump to another program? Hyatt remains my favorite, not sure I can get that card anymore because of the Chase rules.

Still haven't decided between the CapOne Venture vs Savor or Citi ThankYou or American cards. Going forward I'm trying to worry about long term plays. I really like my Barclays Arrival+ and it is my ride or die now.

Dosh has 10% back at sams today up to $20. I just went grocery shopping and look how awesome and easy! :cool1:

Sent it to my parents b/c they go to sams a ton. They tend to ignore my money saving schemes rambling, until I show them the proof...:scratchin

Anyways, it says that offer is up to $20, but does anyone know how often? Or up to $20 per swipe but many times a day?? I can't find that info. I'd like to go back and grab some gift cards I think.

(If you want to download this app, check dischurners for support links. ;);))

I'd love to get into Hyatt but the 2 things holding me back are chase 5/24 (burn a slot for the card?) and the small footprint. We wouldn't really be able to earn on stays b/c there aren't many Hyatts in TN for DH to use for work trips, so we'd be dependent on the cc points. I need to research it more I guess.

Favorite DVC point rental sources?

I have reserved through these boards before, just once. I don't mind doing it again. Just want to make sure I'm not missing something obvious. Any way for me to look at availability online? Probably not, but it would sure speed up the process...

Please forgive my ignorance on reddit, but I have a couple questions!

I was looking at the referral links to see if there were any I could use. I've never used a referral link before so I'm not sure how they work. I am planning on opening the Disney Premier Visa, and probably the Discover It cash back. I noticed that most of the links just say Disney Visa, or Disney Visa rewards. Does that mean they are not the premier card? For the Discover It, most links say $50 statement credit with first purchase. Is that in addition to the standard 0% for 14 months, no annual fee, and first year cash back match offer?

I know it's up to me to determine the best offer, but I'm still learning and trying to figure everything out...

For the IT card, yes. But double check. One you click on the referral link you should be able to pull up terms and conditions.

Thank you so much! I'm excited to make this happen! That is exactly why I'm buying direct - I know it's not cheaper, but it's quick and easy, and I value that simplicity! Now to research a good 0% intro card... :goodvibes
@Livelivedance. I don’t know if it was this forum or another, but I had seen some conversation about use years for DVC. I have absolutely no understanding of how DVC works but I thought the conversation revolved around purchase time and when your use year starts and ends. I’m sorry I can’t remember more but other DVC owners would maybe have some ideas about how to maximize your points related to your most likely travel months.

For all links if you click on then it'll tell you exactly which card it is. But for Disney most everyone has mentioned if it's the No AF version or not, obviously want to verify it when you click the link. For discover, yes, the statements credit is in addition to all that in the standard offer.

Don't feel bad...many of us have no clue on reddit. We just use it for the links. :)

Hello!

As I am wrapping up the spend on my CSR/CSP double dip, I am trying to decide on my next move. I was considering the Hilton Biz or a CapOne Venture (got a 60,000 mail offer). I am 6/24 now and won't go back under 5/24 until March of next year but I am not sure that I am too concerned about it and might just forge ahead, since I have most of the Chase cards that I want. But I do love URs, so we'll see.

However, if I am still able to double dip DH with the CSR/CSP, I think I need to quickly get that done. Nervous about the 8,000 spend since we just opened two PNC accounts to meet spend on my double dip. Do we think it is still possible to get the Sapphires? He had a CSP a couple of years ago but I think there are still some links with the 24 month language?

Here are his stats:
1/5/16 CSP
4/2017 Barclay Arrival+ (PC'd Rewards)
9/30/17 SW Premier
9/30/17 SW Plus
4/3/18 CIP
8/17/18 Barclay Aviator Biz

OK, so I just realized typing that out that he is only 3/24. So I probably would have stretched out the double dip if I didn't feel like the need to get the Sapphires was pretty dire. Thoughts?

I just double checked the links and they seem to still say 24mths and aren't malfunctioning so I think I'd do the DD if I were in your shoes. That would help you stock some URs and then you could move on past chase like you were considering.

Thanks! I actually already own DVC (just purchased this past February) and I'm looking to add on points. I'm probably going to try to purchase the same use year that I currently have, but I've already started searching the DVC threads for that (it seems like the use year is important if you need to cancel a reservation for any reason, but I'm still figuring it all out!). Right now I'm focused on choosing the cards I'll apply for, seeing if I can use any referral links from reddit, and having them in hand with enough time to take advantage of the add on promotion! Thanks for the heads up!

I used DVC rental store for my trip next month, staying at SSR. You put in the dates you want and they email you back a quote. It was fast and easy. I'm sure David's is just as easy.

Are you planning far out or really short term? The official DVC page has some short term availability listed here ---> https://disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com/vacation-planning/resort-availability-stays/

And DVC Rental Store has discounted confirmed reservations https://dvcrentalstore.com/discounted-points-confirmed-reservations/#002

LOL! New College was our first ever college tour. One of my besties attended it and I had high hopes for DD loving it immediately! Unfortunately DD missed a tournament (that they won in NOLA) that weekend so she was already snippy when we took the tour. Then as we landed at home, I received a voice mail that a dear friend of ours had died in Hospice (he had been admitted Friday; died Monday). Our grief sort of overshadowed the tour and DD just can't get over it. I think it would be a great fit for her but she won't even apply :sad1:

She has quite an array of schools- 21- on her current list...I'm hoping she'll trim is after we get her final SATs so I don't pay 21 application fees:eek:

Honestly, I can't imagine going through this process four times!

Oh my gosh -- I am so sorry New College ended up with those negative associations.

The first was by far the hardest -- we (all of us -- me, DH and DS) were so clueless. DS had really good "numbers" (SAT and GPA) and actually got admitted to most schools he applied to, but it turned out many schools had a very different view of what our family could afford to pay than we did. It all worked out in the end, but we definitely did things differently with the subsequent kids.

I had a mailed offer code, so DH and I each got 3 fast passes and then $200 total Disney giftcards. The Disney issues Fast Passes are special. You can't use them on Mine Train or FoP or those tiers but something like Space Mountain, you can walk right up to and swipe in - no need to make a reservation.

Thanks -- I might call (someone at DVC?) and see if they will send us an offer code.

If you click on the support link it will take you to a page that will tell you the offer. There should also be a link for the terms. I believe discover comes with the 0% for 14 months whether you use a link or not. I think it is either 14 or 18 months interest free.

I have the IT card. I love the car back match, 5% rotating categories, and there is no AF. I wasn't planning to take advantage of the 0% at all. But I did put a few major and necessary purchases on there last month so I might just use the 0% instead of using my savings all at once.
