I love credit cards so much!

I went through David’s a month ago for a single night mid December at OKW. I saw a studio on the “already made” reservation list and it was just what we needed to round out our week. I think they do require up front money to check for availability, but since my res had already been made it wasn’t required. It coded as travel on my CIP and counted towards my MSR last month.

Anyone with a new Aviator Biz have problems setting up an online account? DHs arrived yesterday, activated this am, used it without problems. Came home to set up online, no info in packet so I just went to the Aviator Biz site and tried to set up but it says For security reasons, online acces for your account is not available. Please call.

Poor, innocent DH... I told him we should book our flights to Arizona for next year since there are Economy Saver seats on AA for 12,500 each from RIC-TUS. His reaction? "Oh my god, you want to book airfare 7 months out?! Why so far out?!"

Wait until he finds out we'll be booking airfare to Japan next September for August 2020.

Yes, I did. Call the number on the back of the card, not whatever the number is on the website they give you. I can't remember what the issue was with mine but whatever it was they got it straight.

Short term cancellations within 30 days and and your points going into holding. They can’t be banked and have to be booked within 60 days of the next reservation.

Let’s say I was planning F&W in November, a December UY would not be good for me, because if I have to cancel a November trip within 30 days of checking in and had a December UY my points would have to be used by that December 1st. However, an October or my September UY is fine for consistent October and November trips. If I have to cancel within 30 days of checking in I still have until September 1st of the following year to use those points.
Thank you! That was the clearest explanation I’ve seen so far. It’s too late for me now, but it will be helpful when planning future trips. I’m still going to keep the UY I have now for our add on, for the reasons you stated earlier, but I’ll keep the cancellations in mind. We don’t have one set time that we travel (our next trip is February, and we’re hoping to plan a December trip in the near future), but we travel more often in the summer months. Our UY is also September, so that is less than ideal but we’ll make it work! This past August trip was very hot, so maybe our “more often” travel time will change over time lol.

Are you serious? We’re connecting through OGG right now!

Yup! Just landed right now. We are taxiing in to the gate.

You’re welcome. If you travel all times of the year then UY doesn’t matter. We are always there for F&W and MNSSHP. But we go all throughout the year too. Since we aren’t that far away we could make due with a short notice cancellations close to the end of our UY and likely be ok anyhow. But back the we weren’t going as often and UY seemed important at the time.

Yes, I had to call the number on the back of the card. I have been having trouble logging in now as well. I can't believe how hard they made it!

well im back lol......i have been lurking on here for the entire summer. when i left for myrtle beach back in June i was on page 1650ish lol.....i spent most of my time trying to catch up. i missed out on a lot of good offers but spent some valuable time with the family. almost a month at the beach. it was really hard coming home.

i need some help please:
i need a card that offers tsa precheck for my wife. she is 2-24.(sapphire preferred and jc penny card)i may refer dw to the cip or Hilton biz, but neither have precheck.
we are doing a split stay 2 night at poly(DVC) and 5 nights at contemp. my fast passes will be ready on Wednesday and my question is since its 2 stays do i have to do fast passes for the first 2 nights and then 2 days later do the rest of my stay for the fast passes. i had to do separate days for booking my adr.
lastly for now, i got targeted mail for the citi premier card, 60k for 3k spend. could you double dip by using a referral hit the spend and then apply again from the targeted mail offer. im 4/24 and not sure of what citi does/offers

since its been a while i hope all is well with everyone and sending prayers or positive vibes out to everyone.

Thanks! I actually already own DVC (just purchased this past February) and I'm looking to add on points. I'm probably going to try to purchase the same use year that I currently have, but I've already started searching the DVC threads for that (it seems like the use year is important if you need to cancel a reservation for any reason, but I'm still figuring it all out!). Right now I'm focused on choosing the cards I'll apply for, seeing if I can use any referral links from reddit, and having them in hand with enough time to take advantage of the add on promotion! Thanks for the heads up!

Just a thought ... if you already own DVC and bought from Disney, have you considered resale? It would save you some money, but I realize that it isn't as fast.

Yes, but thanks for asking! I decided to add on direct honestly because it’s quicker and much easier. I’m paying a premium for it, but it’ll be easier to manage.

I just realized my plan is greatly dependent on getting a good credit limit when I apply for the Discover it. I have a good credit score and pay my bills in full on time. The only potential problem I see is the fact that this will be my first Discover card.

I want to apply for the Discover it cash back and the Disney premier. My plan is to put less on the Disney (6 months 0%) and more on the Discover (14 months 0%), and take advantage of having more time to pay it off. I’ll probably get a decent limit on the Disney card because of my history with Chase. Would my nonexistent Discover history mean a credit limit that is too low for my plans? Should I apply for one first over the other? Does any of that make any difference?

For anyone sitting on a stash of Citi Thank You points...... there is a 30% transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club until 10/13/18....1000 TYP = 1300 Flying Club. Basically the same offer that Amex MR is currently running, though I would argue that MR are more valuable than TYP.

I just rented through David's for a May 2019 trip. It was super easy and I got a great deal. I will definitely use them again.

We have used David's 4-5 times to rent DVC and it has been totally seamless each time. I'd rent from them again if we needed a DVC room (since we began this hobby we have been staying at Bonnet Creek so its been a few years since we've used Davids).

DP on using credit card concierge services. Previously I have used Amex Platinum concierge to get us Hamilton tickets at face value and dining reservations at places that are fully booked. Somehow we forgot to book dinner reservations for Mama’s Fish House for this trip and of course they are fully booked for the duration of our stay. I reached out to Amex Platinum concierge and they were unsuccessful in securing reservations for us. DH suggested that I reach out to Chase Visa Infinite concierge and see if they could get them. So, I did just that and they were actually able to get us dinner reservations! Moral of the story, when one of your high AF credit card concierge teams can’t come through, give it a go with a different high AF concierge team.
