I love credit cards so much!

You changed your payment day and as we previously discussed it unfortunately skipped a cycle. It will update in early/mid September (I can’t recall the exact dates we discussed - but I think they told you when you called in). :)
Above where it says Next Payment it says Next Statement Date is September 3. I was just confused because it's past August 25 so I thought it would've switched to a new date.

Just bought my HS tickets! No issues with my swashbuckle gift card. Pretty happy overall. Spent $300 at BBY, got $30 back. Two tickets came to $242 with tax, and I used one $50 GC when we were in Disneyland. Tickets immediately linked to MDE so we're good there. The only thing I've noticed is that there are no options on my hotel room for any of my room preferences. I can't remember- is this something that comes up closer to your check in date? I'm 71 days out now. When I click the boxes that let you choose your preferences, neither one gives any option. Perhaps an issue because I booked through Chase??

The room pref thing has been an issue I've been seeing on the resorts forum for awhile. You'll need to call or I guess see if Chase can call in to add your requests since they are your TA.

@Albort posted about it but the comments on the blog post are worth a read. I chuckled at a few of them.

First one really sets the tone doesn't it? :)
But I also wonder 1. if it's only Staples clawed back so far or did/will Lowe's folks get notice too 2. If it's only Staples, since AmEx gets that L3 data, is it only people who bought a ton of gift cards? (Or at least was that the red flag that killed it for everyone?)

I haven't hit my limit yet, so I guess I'll keep tabs on it. Curious how this will all shake out.

i think Lowes is in the mix too.

edit: private group reports...
Lowes - Not Safe
Staples - Not Safe
Best Buy - Safe
Marriott - Not Safe.

Will report as it goes.

Ok - so your statement date is when the statement closes. Then you’ll see a new payment date. If you go to account details on the Chase site it will show you both “Next Closing date” AND “Payments are due on the”.

EDIT: and did we actually determine you didn’t change your payment date? Sorry - I’ve lost track of this saga slightly.

This day has literally had the highest point in my churning life: half way around the world in business class with the other half pending to be covered by points and the lowest: telling my mom my parents are going to eat unknown $$$ on the “great” Staples and Lowe’s Amex deals- I’m not a horrible person I told them the bad news and paired it with bank account bonuses that will counter the potential loss if they want them. My Mom said Amex has always been slimy and it’s not a big deal, they were always maybes they knew the risks since I had previously explained them. God bless her :) ) my father doesn’t know yet but I can guarantee he’ll cancel his company’s Amex when I tell him this crap. (He likes Chase better anyway!)

Did they use it on multiple cards? this is only affecting those who did it multiple times.

Again, with the Chase biz cards you can't have had an app with them within the last 30 days. Since you just got the CFU you'll actually want to wait until at least Oct/Nov to do your next Chase biz app to avoid potential shut down.

That credit union CC you got less than 2 years ago does count. You'll want to go onto Credit Karma to pull your credit reports or do them elsewhere to ensure it's been at least 2 years since you got the Dis card and to find out when exactly you got the credit union card. If it has been over 2 years then you are 2/24 with the CFU and credit union card.

It's great that you've read up on stuff, but had you posted here what you were thinking about doing we would have been able to tell you how to do it. But also for this, what are your goals for getting the cards? Do you have trips you are planning that you need points/miles for etc?

There are several different ways to go about churning, us knowing what you are looking to do with them is a big part of that along with if you have a willing player 2 that can also get cards. If you do have a P2 then we'd also need to know what cards they have and when they got them. It's all to help you best accomplish the trips etc that you are trying to do and to stay within the rules and avoid a potential Chase shutdown. Things also change fast, yesterday Chase came out with a new rule for the Saphire cards that you can't get the bonus again if you've gotten it within the last 48 months, until yesterday it was 24 months. You don't have to keep up with this thread, because it can move fast, but do ask questions.

And I forgot earlier :welcome:. We are a nice helpful bunch but we will ask a lot of questions at first to be able to help :)
Thank you so much for the welcome and knowledge.
I did run a credit report today. Open dates-Disney Visa 3/17, Credit Union CC 2/17, Chase Freedom U 8/21/18.
My wife has no open cards in the last 24 months. She did apply for Chase Freedom today and got the 7-10 day message. Not sure if this hurts her, but she makes under 20k a year.
We are willing to make this churning thing go.
We would like to use the travel rewards/pts to travel to disney for our family of 5. Flights, etc. Also, we would like to travel with just us two as well.

To recap, I made the dumb move of of applying for 3 chase cards in one hour. I received the CFU, got the 30 day message on the CInk Business, and the rejection letter for the Chase Freedom.

I have my eye on the Sapphire Reserve as well, so we can combine all of the rewards there.

Thank you for any further suggestions/tips.

It'll be interesting for sure. They already closed the multi tab loophole so I think it's kind of crappy that they are clawing it back, but at the same time they can do that.

I only have one amex card but the only offer I'd have been able to use more than once if I had multiple cards would have been the bed bath & beyond since it was such a low amount. I won't max out the Staples or Lowes offers but I've used them both. Lowes actually got used for it's purpose so far and not gc :)

It doesn't matter if our wife is a SAHM with no income of her own or making less than 20k, you both should be using household income when applying for the cards.

What airport do you fly out of and what airline do you typically use? Do you need two rooms when you travel or do you rent DVC?

The CIP app you need to be 0/30 otherwise you will get denied

I was thinking if Amex claws back Best Buy and Bed Bath and Beyond, I’ll be out some money. What makes your private group think Best Buy is safe and Marriott, Lowe’s, and Staples are not?

Too soon. Why must you bring it up already...

I just liquidated the $50s. Tedious, but easy! Feels good.

I have 3x $100s from the Staples no fee MCGC deal last week; just waiting on the activation codes. And then another run to Safeway for $300 more MCGCs.

i believe its the terms. Im trying to look for it but i cant find where my past amex offers are.
"Limit of 1 statement credit(s) per Card Member" <-- Safe
vs
"Limited 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channel." <-- Not Safe

I personally havent confirmed this myself but this is what is being noted.

Oh, so when she applies, I just use our combined income when they ask?
We live near the Fort Wayne, IN airport and love to fly out of there, but go to Indy or Chicago for cheaper prices when all 5 of us fly.
Don't have a preference for airline. We've done Frontier, Allegiant and Southwest.
We we've went to Disney with all 5 we stay off site to save money, but we'd love to rent DVC or get two rooms, just never have been able to afford.

Yes, when either of you apply you use the entire household income since that's what is available to pay the card.

And now I turn to those that utilize Southwest for their input and those that need 2 rooms and/or rent DVC to help you because I'm a single person without kids that rarely flies SW :)

I will say that Chase UR's can transfer to SW, but sometimes getting the SW cards and getting the companion pass to at least help with some is a better option leaving UR's for hotels.
