I love credit cards so much!

Even if he isn't receiving any sort of compensation? Dh is very by-the-book (has to be, for his job lol) so I'm not sure how far he would go.

Perhaps opening 2 different cards for 2 bonuses with $5Kish MSRs, instead of opening one card with the high MSR, might be better. The purchases will come from multiple businesses (strings from one, woodwinds from another, etc).

Thanks for your response :)
You probably can’t convince him if he’s dead set against it. I would probably go for 2 cards if there are 2 that meet your needs MSR and bonus wise.

Small price to pay when you are working in a bad situation. I can totally relate to @amalone1013 but it's also why I was bad and never bothered reducing my already bad pay by contributing to my 401, I knew I'd never make the 3 years for it to be vested :) Didn't quite make a year and a half.
Yup. Also not sure how much better my high PTO bank can go vs that I'm here ALL THE TIME. Every other weekend currently. On track to work another 650 hours of over time this year - more than the 525 hrs I worked in 2016, but less than the 800 hrs I worked in 2017

Gold should be fairly easy - 15 nights for the credit card plus the free night/nights depending on how many cards you have - I have 5 so 20 nights right there. Doubt I'll get to 50, but I might actually give it a try.

Yeah, that's why it's a goal, it's possibly attainable. I'm glad a bit they put in a step between 10 and 50, makes it seem like I accomplished something  Their psychologist earned their pay on that at least. We figure in a typical year 4-5 nights is doable, we may need to get creative with the last 5-6; but we've got nice points stashes for some mattress runs if needed. IHG is going to feel very left out for a while :P

I just did something similar to my trip in October. Instead of getting a hotel park and flight package for $271 because of a 6am MHT- MCO flight. I reschedule my SW flight to leave the night before 5:35pm direct MHT-MCO and booked Pop for that night for 9787 URs ($146.81)and will pay $102 to park at the airport garage and got over 6K RR points back!!!! So we now get a full day in the park instead of just half day!

How is Disney with moving your luggage btw hotels? My stay now is Pop/AKL/Pop. I have never done split stays before so any tips are welcome! What is the latest time that they pick up your bags?
You can take it to bell services or call for them. Just let them know you are transferring to xx resort. Then when you get to that resort get your bags or call Bell services from your room and they will bring them up. We have done multiple trips where we change rooms each night. It’s not hard and haven’t had a problem with bags being lost. We just tip bell services a lot during those trips.

I need some help deciding on whether or not it is worth the SPG Lux upgrade. I have the 100K point upgrade offer on my personal. My renewal date is March. I renewed it in March 2018 thinking I got my money's worth with the Amex deals and would get the free night in March. I also have the SPG biz. I did cancel my Marriott personal.
From what I gather, the $450 fee will be prorated for the remainder of my year(March) and I will get the $300 credit. (Anyone have DP on the prorated AF?) I do have a cash Marriott stay this weekend so I could start using the credit. I don't think I care about status. Looks like I'm Gold elite already. Don't really need the TSA (although I have one son that doesn't have it yet). I'd probably cancel it when it comes up for renewal but I think I'd like the bonus points. I value airline miles more than hotel points.
I'm undecided...your thoughts?

My Chase account is still saying Next Payment Due: Aug 25. Shouldn't it have changed by now?

You changed your payment day and as we previously discussed it unfortunately skipped a cycle. It will update in early/mid September (I can’t recall the exact dates we discussed - but I think they told you when you called in). :)

Having 40+ years in the work force I can definitely sympathize with bad work situations. There will ALWAYS be tradeoffs in every job, because finding the proverbial "perfect job" can be quite elusive. (Unless you are @SouthFayetteFan, who gets paid to golf! :D) Certainly 800 OT hours is crazy! Hang in there both of you, there is usually something better around the corner. :flower:

I know it sounds crazy - but I literally have the perfect job :)

Just bought my HS tickets! No issues with my swashbuckle gift card. Pretty happy overall. Spent $300 at BBY, got $30 back. Two tickets came to $242 with tax, and I used one $50 GC when we were in Disneyland. Tickets immediately linked to MDE so we're good there. The only thing I've noticed is that there are no options on my hotel room for any of my room preferences. I can't remember- is this something that comes up closer to your check in date? I'm 71 days out now. When I click the boxes that let you choose your preferences, neither one gives any option. Perhaps an issue because I booked through Chase??
