I love credit cards so much!

I feel like it's generally friendlier and has some really useful information.

Uhh except for the one guy in there currently complaining about how he applied for the CSP weeks ago and (it sounds like) he just called in to verify his information. He's now mad that he can't get it in time to pay his tuition due tomorrow. Why wouldn't you call in for a personal card when you first go to 30 days? I can understand a business, but I called in on my CSP immediately before I even really knew what I was doing and was approved immediately.

I think you would still need to transfer the reservation to Chase within 30 days (but I am not 100% sure).
Chase is the TA on my current cruise, so a placeholder should automatically go to them as well, but I will have to verify onboard. That is how it has worked in the past with DUT.

I know you want the CP but .wondering if 3 SW cards is too agressive....
possibly...which is why I asked here first. Wonder if it has come up on reddit since the new SW rules started.
ETA: I want the 3 for the points, not so much the CP. I will get the CP either way. I wonder if I should flip it and do the SW DD first, and the SW biz first of year. That would get me all the points eventually, and the CP right away, but space the cards out.

Done and approved!!
:rockband:
:thanks::thanks:
WOW - you just ROCKED a double dip like a pro! That's awesome!

So now...you have a little dilemma (a good one). You're going to earn about $1,700 worth of Ultimate Rewards (UR points). AND you have the $300 travel credit to use on your CSR. IF you want to book directly with Disney, you would have close to $2,000 towards your room. It sounds like you might hit that $8k real quick, so you could have those points in hand within a month or so.

I know yesterday I was talking about using the URs for tickets...BUT your timeline has moved up a lot now. It's definitely something to consider...

Your next step will still be getting the Delta card and handling flights. After that, the CIP (Chase Ink Preferred) is calling your name...and you could probably get that card in Nov/Dec which would earn you another $1,275 worth of URs (maybe that's how you pay for the tix...)?

Lots to consider...but congrats on nailing a double dip. You WILL NOT regret that move as you're about to earn A TON of free travel. IF you used any DISchurner links, don't forget to PM the person(s) who you used. I'm sure they'll want to say thanks!

I think you're on to something with the SW double dip first...

AU question......assuming I should wait until my CSR arrives...then request the AU card online...wasn’t sure if that was the way to go or ask for a replacement or plastic card
You don't want to ask for an AU on the CSR...that costs money. I'd go with the plastic card route.

I get my exercise in :confused3 over there. It does give you a good cross section of the general population... lots of clueless folks roaming around to counter balance the genius.
But even being clueless, why?!? just why? speechless.

Playing around with booking and Calypso, you were not kidding about the Saver Awards. I'm on United.com looking for next summer and even on the latest possible day to book there are no business saver awards coming up! I saw some last night but none to be found this morning.

Am I correct in thinking that in order to book a Saver Award in business, I have:

1. Plan to buy the tickets about a year out (which I what you have said, I believe)
2. Transfer miles to UAL and hope for the best committing to that airline, since you can't put them back in the UR bank.
3. Buy individual one way tickets, and be flexible with the airport and the dates.

Or pay double the points for the tickets.

I wish there was a place to see where the saver awards are, what dates and what airports.

I will say there is a really incredible trip success story in there this week from wildcatengineer. It's an old one, but it's pretty cool.

Good news my house AC is fixed, I think. It is actually too chilly out right now to have it on. lol And they are going to send a bill, they originally said we would have to pay the tech while here. Still don't know exactly how much the bill is, but hoping I can use DHs new SPG when it comes. They said they take credit cards, didn't specify what kind of cards.

3)Once SW biz is approved, app for SW deluxe (name?). I am considering a DD here with another SW personal. What do we think about that? It would put me 4/24 until next summer.

The new card? That's the Priority card. Just a shame it's the same 40k bonus. That with the Plus is not bad to DD as it sounds like you'll find use for that $75 SW credit. I like your revised plan to DD to get CP this year and then push off the Biz until later.

Congratulations, my good man!

Now the important question, any way we can status match our DIS likes to r/churningreferrals karma?

Jk jk jk!

:rotfl2:

I was thinking it, just didn't get up to courage to ask it :rotfl2:

I haven't been tracking that honestly...@Lain - any thoughts there? I don't see why it WOULDN'T work...

Agreed. I saw some successful DPs when Chase first implemented the one personal SW card rule. I haven’t seen any recent DPs about it, but I also haven’t seen any negative DPs that a DD on two personal SW cards wouldn’t work anymore.

I think the lack of DPs has to do with the current low offers on the Plus/Premier that’s not enough to get a CP; the high spending bar on the Priority to get all the bonus points, which is still not enough to get a CP when DDed with a Plus/Premier; and timing, since most seem to want to maximize the life of a CP by getting the cards late in the year or at the start of the year (while of course, hoping for higher bonus offers).

In other hysterical internet drama, TPG/MommyPoints posted an article about Chick Fil A earlier and the comments section is going wild.

While I thought the article was trite, I appreciated Summer's responses as they appeared thoughtful and measured. I haven't really liked her blogging (ever) but the comments this article provoked were interesting.

Yeah, the person going after her kids for their t shirts took it way too far. Pretty sure wearing what sounds like an Old Navy Fourth of July shirt doesn’t make you a bigot :sad2:
