DH and I would take the window and middle seat so someone might have to sit on the aisle next to us.

Aisle seats are the most coveted ones and usually first to get booked. You may wish to try and book an aisle and window seat and then hope the flight isn’t full and the middle seat stays open.

This obviously doesn't work for planes where there isn't a 3-3 configuration, but if DH and I are flying a plane like that (as we are this August), I always book us on the window and aisle seat so that only the middle seat is left open. Nobody wants to just sit in the middle alone... lol. I figure if worst comes to worst and the flight sells out, I'll just ask whoever booked the middle if I can switch with them so they can get either window or aisle.

I was going to do this when I flew delta last year, but I decided against it incase I got someone that wouldn’t move.

Oh but that's when the fun begins :) Hubby would spend the whole flight passing things back and forth and possibly talking over their head. And then I'd spend the flight trying not to giggle.... I'm pretty sure they'd take the aisle seat when we offer it again.

That would be me :rotfl2: I know that’s not how you’re SUPPOSED to act and some people would frown it, but I would definitely be an armrest hog. DH on the other hand is a very quiet, non-controversial person so he’d probably be embarrassed lol.

That’s my SO. I would be a pain and SO would probably just look away and text me to please stop.

Loving how chill you look meeting the Dark Lord of the Sith. :darth:

I was the rebel spy you know, this was an everyday thing :rotfl:

I LOVE reading...and I LOVE my kindle paperwhite! I also LOVELOVELOVE Overdrive, which means I get FREE library books on my kindle anytime I want....(gamechanger!)

I love the library! I read a lot and I'd prefer to save the money I'd spend on books for things like travel etc.

Not sure if this is the place to ask so forgive me for my lack of knowledge :lovestruc I have a Marriott Card which comes with a free night. When I booked our upcoming reservation for D.C. (booked in February for July) our free night was not yet available. We are staying 6 nights using points for the 4 nights (stay 4 get one free) plus the certificate. How do I apply this now? I just logged onto my reservation and clicked Apply Certificate to this reservation and when I looked at the new charges it took away all of my points and showed room charges. Is this not possible to do?

Hubby's a button pusher, that's just sport for him. It'd really be an analytical attempt to find out just 'what do I have to do to break you' and then he'd be perfectly behaved the rest of the flight. Which is why I probably couldn't stop giggling since I know what the jig is. That probably makes him sound like a jerk, and it's kind hard to say he's not when it's a seemingly jerk like thing in the name of fun. But he's adorable though so he gets a way with a LOT... like an evil kitten :)

Now sure if this is a post for here or the SB board. So DH has received his CIP now we need to meet the spending min. I was going to pay our Disney vacation with it. Now i am wonder if it is better to buy disney gift cards with the card at best buy and get the sb bonus or if it is too much of a hassle. Do gift card purchases count towards minimum?

What about with the chase freedom, do gift card purchases at safeway get the 5% cash back?

Yes, gift card purchases count toward minimum spend and yes to the freedom 5% cash back on gift cards.
I don't know much about SB so I have no idea what the return is, but if you use your CIP to pay for your disney vacation you'll earn 3pts. Another way is to buy walmart GCs on gyft with your CIP, earns 3pts, then use those gift cards to buy Disney GCs at Sam's.

thanks. Swagbucks has a offer if you buy $50 at best buy you get $5 back +2 sb per/$ so in total it is about $6 back for every $50. I was doing this using a different CC to earn the rewards on the card. Then i would pay the CC off with what i earn in SB.

The only thing is that would be about $1K worth in gc. I will split these in to like 5 different visits.

And for the freedom i can purchase a safeway gift card for any amount and get the 5%

heh, reminds me of the time my grandma passed away so my mom cancelled her ticket. we didnt realize my dad wasnt sitting next to me. As soon as it was cancelled, we tried to move my dad next to me but someone already took the seat. :(
So on the plane, we kindly ask the guy to trade from Aisle to Aisle seat, the guy refuses... decided to be a jerk and woke him up every hour or so to get out on a 14 hour flight.

Bummer, but not surprised. We ate at Black Tap when we went to NYC last year and it definitely isn’t overhyped- the food was awesome!! Milkshakes and burgers were delicious, we were very impressed. We managed to sneak in for Sunday lunch after about a 15 minute wait, which was a lot better than the 2 and a half hour wait they’d had Saturday night!
You know, I didn't really know what Black Tap was all about so I just googled it and OMG that place looks really good! I'm looking forward to checking it out sometime!!

Do you folks have a spreadsheet that you use to keep track of your cards as far as dates, amounts etc? I'm new to churning and want to make sure I'm as organized as possible so I don't screw this up. TIA

I have few questions about Amex business cards.

I am looking to get my first Amex card(business) to dabble in the world of MR.

I am looking at the Amex Gold or the Blue.
I don’t have a ton of spend without daycare which is what I use to hit high spends quickly. Is Amex like Chase where I can really just use the business card for whatever? If not, I might not make the higher spend amount of the Gold.

Another ? I don’t love AF cards. If I was to get the gold can I product change to the no fee Blue?

Thanks!
@Lain did a great job of breaking down the Biz card info for you. I have the Biz gold and I have used it to pay rent, daycare, utilities, groceries, gas, you name it! I pay my rent via Plastiq...it is not considered MS.
