I love credit cards so much!

What was the offer? Sorry if I missed it since I’ve only been skimming the thread. I need to replenish AA miles so that is on my list of cards to hit up again but I’ve been waiting for a really good offer and would be very interested. Thank you :flower3:
You didn't miss it. :o It's 65K for $4K in 4 months, with the first year $99 AF waived. I don't see any 24 month language in the fine print, but I think you would know where to find it better than I would.

My name is disneymagicgirl and I have a problem. I am addicted to hoarding travel points. I cannot bring myself to spend them. I get anxiety thinking about using them for something and then needing them for something else. Committing to trips so far in advance makes me go AAAHHHH. :crazy2:

Yes, exactly. I think b/c I have to redeem so many for 6 people to travel, as you do, it is such a commitment.

Yes! And I think that 6 people thing is a large part of it. We go through a lot of points, especially when it comes to airfare. I'm trying to plan Hawaii next year and I don't know how many of us will be traveling nor how many RR Southwest is going to want. I took me at least a month to commit to spending a whole 2000 SPG points for a night in Kansas City next week, because what if I need them for Hawaii. I barely have a list of hotels for Hawaii at this point and Hilton is top of that list.

My churning accomplishment for the day: accepted an offer to upgrade DH's Hilton no-AF card to the Ascend for 75K with $2K spend in 3 months. I'll take the points for no hard pull and no change to his 5/24 status. He's [we're] going to try for the SW CP again next year, so I can't stray from the long term plan.

While it’s true a big family will need more points to book a vacation, they will also have more spend to earn those points. Our family of three doesn’t spend as much as my sisters family of 5, for instance. More groceries, more clothing, more school supplies, etc.

DITTO!

Not quite the same but in the past, when I have bought from walmart.com and paid with paypal, any refunds were allowed to go back to any card I wanted. Can't remember if they offered cash as an option.
We needed a refund on something bought with ChasePay last year but all Walmart would offer us was a gift card, couldn’t refund it to the card and refused cash.

I'm not sure if you saw where I posted about this a couple weeks ago, but in my hotel researching I found that the hilton hawaiian village waikiki has rooms that hold all 6 of us for a reasonable price! Obviously, it is more pricey at peak times, but assuming you don't want new years it is a good deal...in comparison to 2 rooms at Grand Wailea. The rooms have 3 double beds. Screen Shot 2018-05-28 at 7.15.35 PM.png For example, these are the prices for a random week in October. For us to stay at Grand Wailea on points it would be 95k points/night x2 rooms. So this is more reasonable, but esp reasonable booking on the UR portal for about 25k URs per night!

I’ve thought about it but the idea of having to lug around a big screen tv is a turnoff. And my dh would throw a tantrum over that lol. He tolerates all this but he’d draw the line at that. I need something expensive and small :)

Seems Walmart changed the hard coding on their systems:

Sooo, for my plastiq mortgage debacle...

I was going in to schedule DD's fall college tuition under the 1.75% promo (have to send series of at least 3, all sent by 7/31, all scheduled by 5/31). So I broke it up into 3 weekly payments, starting 7/17. Pretty excited about that money maker. Last year's tuition was pre-plastiq for me so I paid from checking to avoid the cc fee. :crazy2::mad::rolleyes2

Anyway, while I was in there I noticed that the monthly mortgage that got declined for my June payment is still scheduled for the rest of the payments. They didn't cancel the series. So you think I just let it ride and see what happens with the July payment? :rolleyes1I was also wondering if splitting it into 2 small payments might bet less obvious than a large payment going out the door with a deliver by date of the 1st of the month. :ssst:Thoughts? I was just suprised the gal that caught in and stopped it for June didn't cancel the whole series.

You just got my attention with paying college tuition on the CCard. I might need to look into this. Only one more year but it's still a significant amount of money.

Curious - do they give full refund of difference between regular and executive membership (I think that is currently $60)?
Or do they give the difference between rebate check and the $60 extra one would pay for executive? Like if your refund check is $45, do they refund $15 or the full $60?

I asked my DH (who pays these bills) and he said they will refund the difference, so you won't lose any money by upgrading but you won't make money either. He thinks it's $65 now. Since my DD went to college our Costco spending is down and he's had to go and ask for the difference but it's not a problem to get it refunded.

Are there any DPs on the Ink+ coding? Asking for a friend :rolleyes1

May I request/suggest a list of retailers on the Dischurner reddit group where we can share our DPs?

I’m planning to “verify” some of these DPs for research purposes and will document my findings.

These sound like targets for the MS thread that @linzjane88 started: https://www.reddit.com/r/DISchurners/comments/87aqvd/dismss_the_place_to_put_those_sweet_sweet_dps/ :)

I've only done it once because as a big family, we tend to get a refund check that is enough to actually pay for the executive membership. The one time I got the difference, they gave me the refund check amount plus the difference between that and the membership cost. So, using your numbers, the $45 rebate check plus an additional $15.

Yes, the needing points for 6 people is a big part of why I think I hoard too. We need so many for everything (6 airfares, 2 hotel rooms...) and while we are in 2-player mode, we have have a lot of trouble meeting MSR's so those points are just beyond precious!

And like @disneymagicgirl mentioned, transferring to travel partners stresses me out because I'm so worried our plans will change and our points will be stuck!
