I love credit cards so much!

Technically speaking, if a certain retailer doesn't have the ability to refund back onto a Freedom used to pay through PayPal, it also shouldn't have the ability to refund to, say, an SPG Biz used through PayPal...

i would think the store would try to give u store credit instead of cash.

I am trying to figure out our next couple of cards. We are in 2 player mode and are not AU on each other cards. I am working on spend on SPG Business and have about $2,000 left until Mid July so that will be no problem.

Here is what DH Has from past 24 months and credit limits. May need to lower some first.
1. August 2016 - CSR/Now Freedom - $34,000 Limit
2. April 2017 - Barclay Card - Closed
3. July 2017 AMEX SPG Business - $5000 Limit
4. January 2018 - SW Business - $5,000 Limit
5. January 2018 SW Plus - $30,000 Limit

So should be 3/24 -thinking about CIP - would love the 80,000 UR Points. Don't think we would be candidate for shut down. Should I lower the limits of the $34,000 and $30,000 cards.

Here is what I have and not sure if DH should get 2 cards in a row or if he should get one then me:

1. November 2016 CSR/Now Freedom - $9,000 Limit
2. May 2017 Marriott Personal - $5,000 Limit
3. June 2017 SW Business - $6,500 Limit
4. June 2017 SW Plus - $30,000 Limit
5. December 2017 - AMEX SPG Personal $18,000 Limit
6. February 2018 - Marriott Business - $5,000
7. April 2018 - AMEX SPG Business - $15,000

Also have Disney which has been opened since it came out with $5,000 Limit and CSP with $19,000 Limit - these are both past 24 months. So, I am at 4/24 right now.

So, we basically have UR Points. SPG/Marriott Points and SW Points. Would love more UR Points and open to other suggestions. We are planning on new carpeting shortly and building a new deck and getting new deck furniture so that could be a spend easily then in the fall will have some College Payments so that would be another spend. So, trying to figure out the next couple of cards. And if I should lower limits on anything. Thanks.

Ok. So couldn’t wait until and applied DH for CIP yesterday. Still says 30 day. We have new appliances to get and the sale ends the 6 th. So need a card ASAP. Will need another card too. Getting new carpet and deck. So need a business card. Probably not Chase. Any ideas. Maybe Gold business or Hilton. We don’t have any MR points or Hilton points. Looking for ideas. Need 2 cards quick. Hoping DH gets approved for CIP.

Theoretically, I am able to share a Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select offer if it has a 9 digit code, correct?

My name is disneymagicgirl and I have a problem. I am addicted to hoarding travel points. I cannot bring myself to spend them. I get anxiety thinking about using them for something and then needing them for something else. Committing to trips so far in advance makes me go AAAHHHH. :crazy2:

I have this issue with my cash back cards...I have nearly $1000 across two of them that I just can't come to cash out on.

I know I’m eventually going to be putting approximately 5000 URs towards next years Disney trip which is going to give me massive anxiety!

Travel goals?

ETA: A hilton would get you the 125k points. 5th night free on points. So, that is 5 nights in a 30k/nt property. If you and DH both got one you would have enough for 5 nights in a 60k property. Our favorite beachfront is 70k/night, so you'd be pretty close. There are other redemptions that are much less points. Usually when I book for soccer tournaments and such I pay more like 30k points. Just depends what you'd use them for.

Yes, but before you transfer it, you should be aware that to apply for the offer you need to provide the invitation code and your last name, then it’ll take you to an application page that has your name and address pre-populated. The applicant can change it, but you’ll be giving up that information.

I thought that was the case. I wouldn't offer it up on churning, but I wonder if anyone on DISchurners might be interested.

When I bought my car last month the dealer pulled my credit (without my permission) the day BEFORE we put an offer in. Then we financed through our CU and they did a HP as well. So now I have 4 hard pulls showing up.

This made me soo mad! When I got my SUV I had an open account with the mfg that I was very clear about putting the balance on that account, found out the next day they ran my credit at two different places trying to find them a better interest rate I suppose and not passing that on to me. I smile tho knowing I stopped at least one and deterred another sale from them.

How about Amex Delta Gold Business. 60K miles with only $1k spend + $50 statement credit with first Delta purchase. No fee first year and no lifetime language. Gotta log in to your Delta account and see if the offer is there. If not, Doctor of Credit has a couple links that may work. Ton of miles if you both got the card.

Buy a big screen tv on your SPG Biz that you still have a $2k MSR on, and refund it to one of your Chase cards (since refunds deduct only base points, not bonus points)?
I’ve thought about it but the idea of having to lug around a big screen tv is a turnoff. And my dh would throw a tantrum over that lol. He tolerates all this but he’d draw the line at that. I need something expensive and small :)

Sooo, for my plastiq mortgage debacle...

I was going in to schedule DD's fall college tuition under the 1.75% promo (have to send series of at least 3, all sent by 7/31, all scheduled by 5/31). So I broke it up into 3 weekly payments, starting 7/17. Pretty excited about that money maker. Last year's tuition was pre-plastiq for me so I paid from checking to avoid the cc fee. :crazy2::mad::rolleyes2

Anyway, while I was in there I noticed that the monthly mortgage that got declined for my June payment is still scheduled for the rest of the payments. They didn't cancel the series. So you think I just let it ride and see what happens with the July payment? :rolleyes1I was also wondering if splitting it into 2 small payments might bet less obvious than a large payment going out the door with a deliver by date of the 1st of the month. :ssst:Thoughts? I was just suprised the gal that caught in and stopped it for June didn't cancel the whole series.

So it looks like MPX pass through coding is back on Chase Visa cards, at least for dining.

When you purchase an eGift card on the MPX app, MPX passes through how that purchase codes to the category of the merchant for which you were buying the gift card.

So if you bought a gift card for Panera Bread or Starbucks, MPX would pass the coding on that transaction to these restaurants' "Dining" category, and you'd earn the dining category bonus if you were paying with the CSP and CSR (2x and 3x UR respectively).

Several DPs on reddit last week reported this coding method is back on MPX. Back around March, MPX stopped triggering pass through bonus categories and earned only the base points on Chase cards regardless of the category of the gift card's merchant. I purchased a Starbucks gift card last week and it coded for 3x UR (I also earned 1 UA mile/$1 + a 25% mileage bonus because I have an United card attached to my MPX account).

I've yet to see DPs for "travel" gift cards like Uber or AirBnB, which should also trigger 2x UR on the CSP and 3x UR on the CSR/CIP; or "office supply" gift cards like OD/OM/Staples, which should trigger the 5x UR category bonus on the CIC. I'll keep an eye out for more DPs and may purchase them myself if the need arises.

Are there any DPs on the Ink+ coding? Asking for a friend :rolleyes1

Technically speaking, if a certain retailer doesn't have the ability to refund back onto a Freedom used to pay through PayPal, it also shouldn't have the ability to refund to, say, an SPG Biz used through PayPal...

May I request/suggest a list of retailers on the Dischurner reddit group where we can share our DPs?

I thought that was the case. I wouldn't offer it up on churning, but I wonder if anyone on DISchurners might be interested.

What was the offer? Sorry if I missed it since I’ve only been skimming the thread. I need to replenish AA miles so that is on my list of cards to hit up again but I’ve been waiting for a really good offer and would be very interested. Thank you :flower3:

Yes, you do have to ask. If you are executive, and receive a refund check that is less than the membership difference, just take the check to customer service and ask for the refund. It's very easy and don't have to fight for it at all.

Curious - do they give full refund of difference between regular and executive membership (I think that is currently $60)?
Or do they give the difference between rebate check and the $60 extra one would pay for executive? Like if your refund check is $45, do they refund $15 or the full $60?
