I love credit cards so much!

When I opened my Marriott, I had to shuffle credit around. I moved to 20k from my SW but could have easily moved more. The CSR was like that is all you want to move, you can move more. I am going to shuffle more around when I go to close the 2 SW CCs.

Great! I don't want to lose it, so I'm glad to hear they didn't hesitate to move a high number like that.

So I'm a doofus, almost don't even want to admit it but I figure I could be a reminder for others. I posted couple weeks ago about not expecting to have my new Discover it card close so early so I would be paying it off sooner than I planned. So I transferred money around and paid it over the weekend with all my other bills. What I totally didn't notice until now is I have a 0% interest rate for purchases and bal transfers! I was so focused on the cashback totally forgot the 0% APR on purchases for 14 months :headache: I could have left my money in the savings account and just spread it out over the next couple months. Lesson learned, pay attention to all the goodies not just the rewards!
(thinking back on it, the verification lady did even mention it and I just skipped right over and locked in on 'double cashback for the first year, 5% cashback categories' and the rest was 'mah wah wah wah wah wah')

When did they close your card? I opened my Discover It on Nov 10th and they did not close the statement
until December 28th. I thought that was very unusual. I have another older discover that closes the 11th of
every month I was thinking about asking them to match the closing dates but decided not to.

Contrast that to my new Jet blue Plus card i applied dec 31-jan1st....I JUST received Jan 10th and the statement
is already closing the 26th!

To answer my own question, again, I called the number the AMEX chat gave me, and they raised my Delta card back up to where it was, and left my SPG BIZ with the ridiculous $25k line. Very nice!
Excellent!

they opened it 11/26 and matched the closing to my existing discover card of 12/11 ( but it took a week to get the card so i only got to use it about 10 days before the cycle ended)
Since yours closes the 11th too, it's either a coincidence or discover sets the 11th as the billing cycle. although that's really odd to have such a long cycle.

Seeking advice. I am almost done with my 3k min spend on my Chase Marriott card. I think I would like to start collecting URs as fast as possible for our next trip, which will be in 2019 London/Paris. I need to accumulate at least 600,000 UR points for Business class tickets for the four of us.

What should my next card be? I want the Chase Ink for 80k URs but I am at 5/25 . I'm pretty sure, at least. How do I check?

I think I may apply for a CSR for my husband, too. He is below the 5/25.

i'm just amazed at how high people SW cards are. mine is literally the lowest limit i have, 2k. i was a little surprised at how low it was when i got it because people have been throwing credit at me for years (especially Chase), just about every new card had a significantly higher limit than the last. But then i realized since i'm only going to use it for SW and similar travel purchases i'll never get close to the limit anyway. i just assumed most cards had lower limits as well... totally incorrect apparently ;)

No one was more surprised than I was when I got those limits! I didn't think they would dole out that much for an airline card. I'm sure it was because I only had a CSP at the time, so they were willing to extend a lot of credit.

Need a little advice! I want to try to earn CP for SW. My credit score is 813 and I am at 2/5 (3 dropped off at the new year). I applied online but I went through a link and not my Chase login because I didn't think the 50K offer would be on the Chase site. I have a CSR, Freedom and FU right now. Anyways, I applied for the Plus and got the 30 day wait. They asked a weird question about income asking if I wanted to add more. Combined we are at 180K with no rentals, etc. I thought that would be enough? Anyways should I wait for the Plus to (hopefully) be approved and then wait and apply for the Premier or should I apply today for the Premier and hope it goes through and avoid any additional hard pulls or am I screwed because of the 30 day wait. Thanks in advance!!

You could call recon now and inquire, get it approved and then apply for the Premier through a different browser. That's what I did in the fall since I only wanted one pull.

Here's a great chart outlining the non-automatic approval process, including the phone number to check your application status:

I would call recon now and get that plus approved. I am guessing they just want to move credit around. Then immediately apply for the Premier. Good luck!

Thanks so much for this advice. I called and they just wanted me to move some of my credit limits around I had 30K on CSR and 35K or Freedom that I never come close to needing. However I'm sure that will screw up applying for the Premier since I'll hit the same snag. Ugh.

Just call recon again :) It will be ok. Just don't mention the other SW app. Just move the credit from whichever card you didn't use this time.
