Are you using the app in Sams to scan your items yourself and skip the checkouts. It is amazing. I also often order online and they have my order pulled and ready. I can just grab it from the service desk and run. I get shop thru chase points for those orders too. whoop whoop! I can't fault a company for closing down stores. Everything is going to online anyways.[/QUOTE]

I just signed up last Friday night lol so I've not done any of the scan and go or ordering online yet. Once I learn the products, I think I'll definitely use that cause I had gotten spoiled by grocery to go at Walmart. So for the scan and go, how does it work? Ooh, yay for shop through chase points. I never got those on Walmart pick up orders!

Wow! That sounds like Walmart here. Crazy, unorganized. I can find a parking spot at Walmart if I park at the far end which is probably safe since people double park in the handicapped spots and drive like fools.
The Costco nearest my house is busy, the parking lot is too small and usually pretty full but inside it's never clog the aisles full. The Costco near where I work is never as busy, except gas (they do undercut everyone nearby) The gas lines are to the street, and sometimes onto the street. Inside the lines are usually no more than 1-2 people long.

You definitely need another Costco nearby.

We do need another Costco. We actually have the smallest Costco in the state. I don't really notice the difference in other costcos but that's why an employee told me it feels so busy. Parking lot is huge though yet always filled. Gas lines 6-7 cars deep. The people lines inside are almost always extending well into the merchandise. Our trick is to come around by pharmacy and get in that last line by meds\health items. Its usually 3-4 deep and the shortest.

Yes, it will be an additional 5x on top of the 5x for using Chase Pay.
??? :cool1::cheer2::banana: Are you kidding??? Wow, I need to rethink my strategy for this then.... I can max this offer on 6 cards..... I wonder if it works on store gc, so I can prepay for groceries.....:jumping1:

So I'm a doofus, almost don't even want to admit it but I figure I could be a reminder for others. I posted couple weeks ago about not expecting to have my new Discover it card close so early so I would be paying it off sooner than I planned. So I transferred money around and paid it over the weekend with all my other bills. What I totally didn't notice until now is I have a 0% interest rate for purchases and bal transfers! I was so focused on the cashback totally forgot the 0% APR on purchases for 14 months :headache: I could have left my money in the savings account and just spread it out over the next couple months. Lesson learned, pay attention to all the goodies not just the rewards!
(thinking back on it, the verification lady did even mention it and I just skipped right over and locked in on 'double cashback for the first year, 5% cashback categories' and the rest was 'mah wah wah wah wah wah')

So...for some of you thinkers on here....I just got the bonus points from my test purchase at Shoprite.... using an activated FR card I spent 251.99( Ibought ketchup too lol) and got 2519.90 points. breakdown is +5% chasepay 1259.95/+Bon 1Q Mobile wallet 1007.95/+1% all purchases 251.99....does this look right? I'm just checking b/c I intend to hit this store again asap, prob. to get some store cards too b/c I don't need too muchmore in dis gc.

Still catching up but wanted to mention CNBC is claiming 63 Sam's clubs will be closing. Wikipedia says there approx 600 locations so about 1 out of 10 will close it sounds like? I don't Sam's but I wanted to heads up to those who do this is not the end of closures.

The three in western Washington are all closing but we are in the land of Costco. From the comments I read people went to Sams instead of Costco simply because it wasn't as busy. But even here there's a new Costco opening soon. I do wonder if we had more grocery store options if Costco wouldn't be as busy. I mostly have my membership for the gas, the eye dr/ordering contacts etc and the churros :)

I basically have paid membership for the past few years b/c of the car rental savings....otherwise I wouldn't keep it since yeah,I like the products, but I can get good products elsewhere- it's that 2 free drivers that keeps me there- I much prefer our costco to sams shopping, but if Sams is free etc and it suits me I'll go there too

Looks right to me...you got the 1% that you get on every purchase, the additional 4% for spending in a bonus category (Chase Pay), and the additional 5% for the ShopRite promo. Great deal! I've got to get over there today. Between DH and I we'll be able to hit it 4 times.

I asked a couple of pages back, but I think it got lost in all the Sams Costco kerfuffle LOL, since AMEX gave me such a ridiculous line on my biz card, but took away from my personal, do you think they would move it back around if I messaged them?

And our Costco is insane, all the time! Weekdays, weekends, always. The parking lot is huge, full and very poorly laid out. I don't go into the store that often, but oy, it's always a challenge.

looks like I can log into either my own or DH pay acct on the app,so I should be good to use whatever (I hope) I'm just still wondering about the 10x using a sapphire product too- I'm willing to buy some grocery gc and drive a bit extra for this deal to shop

ShopRite's advertising it specifically so I hope it would work. (I can only figure out how to get to the page from the ad window so the URL is huge:
http://plan.shoprite.com/MarketLanding.aspx?mwgdcid=1c64b364-db70-458e-aea9-fba0f3cf62b9&mwgdcadorigin=JpMorganChase_SAPPHIRE_Holiday-Shoprite_Q12018_O-105GC__Pub_jpg_MWG_RC__LM__ELP___300x250&geo=1&mwgdctags=&mwgdctab=JP Morgan _2)

But the Sapphire Reserve got it's own tab.
"Use Chase Pay with your Chase Sapphire Reserve card at ShopRite stores or shoprite.com and you'll earn a total of 10x points on up to $400 in overall purchases from January 1st to February 4th. That's 9 extra points in addition to the 1 point you always earn on purchases at ShopRite. "

The other tab just says "Sapphire" but I didn't think there was a product like that anymore, it's just CSR and CSP now right? Do folks still have a plain one, cuz then I guess they they left it open for the grandfathered folks for either CS or CSP.

My stupid question I have to ask... did they make sure they used Chase Pay and not some other wallet or just the card?

There is still a regular Sapphire. You can't apply for it directly, but you can product change to it from other cards. Thanks for pointing out the CSR tab, but now I'm curious about the CSP!

See @miztressuz's post...looks like we're good with the CSR. I don't know what the DoC commenters' issue was, but it looks like they can easily fight it if they don't get their bonus points. Hopefully the CSP is good too.

Thank you. That's really not cool that they can just take your personal limit with no discussion, and then make the rule that you can't move from business to personal :-(.
They lowered my personal card limit by $5000.
I tried anyway by chat. He tried to help, but his system wouldn't let him. He did give me a number to call and says he is pretty sure they can do it if I call.

My SW cards are a year old, I got billed for AFs, and I've received the annual RR for the Premier. I'm going to call to cancel that one unless they give me a retention offer. I don't know if I should cancel the Plus too. They gave me ridiculous credit limits on both cards (19K and 27K!!) and I don't know if they'd be willing to shift that much over to my CSR which is the only other personal Chase card I have right now. I think I might have to ask them to move the Premier limit to the Plus and keep it another year. What do you guys think?

I don't have experience with shifting 2 limits that high but I know they let me shift 20k once to a card that already had 10k. With the anniversary points almost offsetting the fee if you were to generate just one referral it would be worth keeping a card. Just a thought!

Does anyone know if Raise.com codes as 3x on the CIP? If not, I'll just use my Marriott that I am working on the spend to meet.

I'm glad to hear they let you shift that much! Good point about the referral. I think keeping the Plus is worth the AF.

When I opened my Marriott, I had to shuffle credit around. I moved to 20k from my SW but could have easily moved more. The CSR was like that is all you want to move, you can move more. I am going to shuffle more around when I go to close the 2 SW CCs.
