I love credit cards so much!

I actually decided against going for it. I posted over on reddit asking opinions on him already getting 4 cards in February and March. The replies were pretty much what I expected. I suppose I just needed someone else to talk me off the ledge.....LOL. In the end I felt going for 5 (or even 6) Chase cards over the course of 3 months was just too much too soon. We have no prior relationship with Chase so I don't want to mess things up with them. I'll just hold out for a bit on apps for him and maybe just do the CSP in a couple of months. I did see posts about the 100K offer still being available though. Everything I had seen before that stated 5/03, including the email I received on the offer, so I'm not sure what's up.

I can still pull the 100K by doing a direct Google search. But since I've been Googling it a lot (Read: obsessing over it), almost every website I visit today has ads with links for Marriott cards, and they all say 80K now. That's why I think it's going to disappear soon. It's still really, really tempting, but I have to be strong and logical!

Good for you! Have you considered calling in to have them review your application? Maybe you'll get lucky and you'll have your card in time.

Sign me up as another doing this in my husband's name and him not wanting anything to do with it. LOL Will just have to wait, but he will be livid if I signed him up and he gets denied! I just checked his score, 830 and he has only opened up 2 in the last year, CSP, which we just downgraded last month to CFU, and the CSR. Does it look bad that we just downgraded a card? I didn't want to sign up myself because I opened up both SW cards a few months ago and will do the CSP or CSR for myself soon.

Hi everybody!

Sorry to to barge in; I made this question its own thread before realizing it'd probably get better-directed attention in here.

I saw a lot of you mentioning the Barclaycard Arrival Plus and I'm interested in getting it to rack up the ~$500 in rewards. The issue is, we already do lodging on the cheap (Airbnbs for less than fifty bucks a night), we have enough airline rewards to last us a lifetime, and we don't really do too much traveling outside of Disney. The only thing really left for those rewards to maybe be redeemed for is our park tickets. The site lists "discounted travel websites" as places that you can redeem the points (or was it miles? I've already forgotten) for. Has anyone successfully gotten tickets through LMTClub and had them reimbursed with this card? It's not like it would hurt to have all those rewards sitting around anyway just in case some emergency somewhere comes up and we need a place to stay, but I try to be more directed with credit card planning.

I don't know what LMTClub is but I do recall several people reporting that they purchased tickets from Undercover Tourist and those coded as travel for the CSR. Maybe do a test run purchasing one ticket?

How and how often does everyone check their credit score? I'm not a big-time player in this, but I have never really checked our scores.

I don't know how accurate it is, but I used the DiscoverFreeCreditScore. It is free to anyone, I do not have a Discover card. I have checked both mine and my husbands twice in the last couple months because he is convinced that I am ruining our scores with all the applications. I also signed up for the Chase service. It was pretty close to the Discover number.

I purchased my tickets on Undercover Tourist and they coded as travel.

Hi, I'm new to all this but have been reading along and so far my goals are to fly to WDW as often as possible lol. American Airlines is the carrier from my airport so I have the American Airlines Aadvantage Platinum Select Citi MasterCard and the SPG American Express card. I just met the spend on these to get the sign on bonuses so now I'm wondering what card to go for next?

Anyone have the Sam's Club Mastercard? Wondering how this codes with Disney (parks, tickets, food) or even Undercover Tourist. Think this card is 3% back in Travel.

Barclays also has an AA card, with no minimum spend, one purchase and the $95 annual fee to get the bonus.

I check ours about once a month. Chase pulls from Experian in my state so I check our scores through Amex (which uses Experian). Chase has a 'credit journey' (think it's called) and I signed up for it but they pull from Transunion.

The LMT part of LMTClub stands for Last Minute Travel. I bought Disneyland parkhoppers through LMTClub a few months ago. They did code as travel for my CSR. Assume it would be the same with the Arrival Plus but don't know from firsthand experience.

Question: I have seen several references to Marriott Gold status being one of the benefits of the Amex personal Platinum card, including in this blog post from One Mile at a Time: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2017/05/04/amex-platinum-card-strategy/. However, when I received all of my welcome info with my new Amex Platinum card, Gold status was referenced only for Hilton and SPG. I realize Starwood and Marriott have merged, but I was under the impression that the loyalty programs are still separate for now. Does the SPG Gold status extend to Marriott? If not, it doesn't seem like Marriott Gold status is currently included with the Amex Platinum. What am I missing?

Does anyone know how Disney codes annual pass and/or ticket purchases? I have the Chase Sapphire Reserve, with 3x for travel and dining. I'm trying to figure out if I should put my annual pass purchase (first time purchasing - getting it for the room discount and dining discounts) on the Sapphire or one of my 2% cards. Chase said that park tickets are not considered travel, but all of the terms I read say it's based on the merchant's classification.

Additionally, along the same lines, has anyone used a Chase Sapphire or other Chase card with higher travel rewards to pay the Disney hotel bill at the end? Does it all classify as travel? If we use our Magic Bands to pay for everything, we'll be purchasing merchandise and other things that wouldn't otherwise classify for the 3x bonus, but I can't get an answer from Chase on how that would work.

Thanks in advance.

I charged Disneyland tickets from LMTclub to CSR and got 3x points as it codes as travel as does Undercover Tourist. I also used CSP to pay WDW room charges & coded travel as well although tickets directly from Disney did not.

Well if you can get the Marriott card with 100k bonus (supposedly expired but read up thread about links still working) I would consider that as you can link Marriott & SPG now & transfer points. Otherwise I'd go for Chase Sapphire Reserve or Sapphire Preferred.
ETA: You can use points earned from Sapphire cards to book Disney hotels, other hotels or airfare.
