I love credit cards so much!

Ok, Thanks to you both. I was sending it so late that I wanted to do the small payment to make sure it worked and a full payment next month. I think I will let this one get cancelled and delete heritage as is. I will send something else through plastiq this month to see what happens there. Then I will try and send a full mortgage payment for April with a little more time to spare in a few weeks. I'm not giving up yet!

Yes, please keep us looped in so we can offer some help, thoughts, ideas. Like we all helped @pillow the other day!

You’ll need to give yourself (and us!) some time ahead of your due date because Plastiq can take 8-10 business days to deliver your payment, and you might want to add an extra day or two to get the payment there before it’s due in case there are any unexpected issues. So you might want to schedule something two weeks in advance.

I would suggest that you set up automatic monthly payments through Plastiq once you find what works for each mortgage. When they cracked down on Visa mortgage payments last year, any payments that had already been set up for autopay continued to be processed.

Thanks - I will do that. I assume I can cancel the auto payment at any time?? (just in case our luck runs out and it goes back to 1x)

I kind of like this idea, but some thoughts...

Plastiq payments are all about first establishing a relationship with the recipient. If your bank is in the system but blacklisted for mortgage payments with Visa and Amex, it’s no good to you. Since you then have to be creative with addressing your recipient, the way you word your recipient name will probably not be in the system and could open them up for review. But once a recipient is in the system, I don’t think Plastiq will bother you again.

If you have a MasterCard or Discover card to put a payment through to establish the relationship, it might get your recipient into the system for future payments with Visa. If you do this I’m just thinking that you may still want to creatively word your recipient name and/or address so that when you switch over to Visa payments, it doesn’t run up against any blacklists. I’d also be wary that if you get asked for documentation on a MasterCard or Discover payment, and you submit the mortgage bill which you can pay with MCs or Discover, then Plastiq will see it’s for a mortgage and add your “recipient” to the blacklist, then it won’t work when you switch over to Visa.

All good points. Thank you! Let me look through my wallet and see if I have a master card. I know we don't have a discover.

This is exactly what I did. I sent a $25 test payment to ATTN Cashier with a mastercard to establish a relationship. Once my mortgage company received it I switched to my CIP. I never went under review though. Hopefully it works for you!

I can't remember all your data points on this... did you book far in advance and later have a discount applied through Disney? I'm planning to book my 2019 vacation at least 9-10 months in advance but want to get a room discount applied later if possible. I'm wondering how I can get this to work paying with UR points...

So you are transferring it to a travel agent (Chase) so you have to follow Disney's rules on that, the reservation must not be more than 30 days old and have a remaining balance due.

I booked a room on the Chase portal first and paid in full using points online. While we were on our Christmas trip we booked the 20% off bounce back deal and added just the dining plan. I was up in the air on what reservation to keep until I found I could have the best of both by moving the new reservation to Chase. Melissa then worked with me to ensure the Disney made reservation was moved over to her and then got my web one canceled and points returned. Now I have a remaining balance due on the reservation and can pay with points up till Disney's 30 day mark that the balance is due. I had all but about $100 in points and I think I can just make one points payment so she suggested I hold off and do it later once I earned the remaining points.

Were you able to reach Melissa? She's been great to work with so far, I need to reach out to her in a month and a half and make the final payment, almost there in points to pay off the whole 11day+dining package. :cool1:
No... I worked with a girl named Liza. But she knew exactly what I was talking about.

Thank you! Honestly at this point I'm thinking I might book one night on property during my November trip just to experiment with the UR points and see how I can get everything to work.

I thought I couldn't pay a mortgage with Amex???? Seriously, if I've been busting my tail trying to meet min spend on my two current Amex cards...$8k in almost 4 mos is killing me!...I'm gonna be so mad at myself if I could have been using my Amex to pay my mortgage! I thought the RAT team was all over that.

This is a comment on @Lain's second DoC link. It's only one DP, but it's enough for me to not mess with Plastiq for the SPG minimum spend.

Along the same lines - it seems as if the good Amex offers have completely dried up. I wonder if using too many of those is considered "rewards abuse." I don't think I've taken advantage of an Amex offer in at least 2 months, which is unusual. Makes me wonder if Amex is pulling back on those intentionally.

For folks that use Chewy . com for pet food there is an Amex offer for 25 off 75 out today.

i really wanted to get the sw cp for my parents so i made a business and went for the card. it now has the 7-10 message. so i guess i need to go with the 2 personal cards. should i wait until i get the denial or go ahead. should i do both the same day or space them out a couple of months?
they are 0/24.

Was someone here going to DC for the Cherry Blossoms this year?

They've just announced 2018's peak days will be March 17 to March 20.

Chase limits you to 2 apps every 30 days, after that denial. 7-10 day denial could be as simple as them needing to verify your identity so I would not just jump into another Chase card until you find out why you were denied for this one. And would certainly not apply for 2 right now, that's guaranteed denial on the last app due to 2/30 application rule.
